  1. I've had problems with the stats. I like how the stats are setup and you can search and filter. But I get blank pages quite often.
  2. I used to have it at family get togethers growing up, but I haven't had it in years. I enjoyed it. Raw beef and Limberger cheese were two of the things I remember from my great grandfather's Christmas Eve buffets. (Rraw beef, Limberger cheese, and cigars and he lived to 103)
  3. And on top of it all, he's thrown out 4 of 11 base stealers so far, for 36%.
  4. Good point. Bush averaged less than 2 BB/9 innings over the past 2 seasons (almost 400 innings). So it would appear that something is up.
  5. It would be Tuesday with the day off, but yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Yo went 90 pitches and did well yesterday, so he could be ready to go. I just hope we don't see a 13 man staff next week when Gallardo is activated, but I could see them doing that.
  6. By the way, it's based on this antenna that will cost you $69, if you buy it. http://www.antennasdirect.com/images/DB4-large.jpg http://www.antennasdirect.com/DB4_HDTV_antenna.html
  7. Bush has led the team in victories in the last two seasons.
  8. I know that was the plan, but the number of rehab starts seemed to be flexible. He went 90 pitches and pitched well. He should be good for 100 next time. If Bush struggles tonight, might we see him next Tuesday?
  9. Rain delay for the Sounds. It would seem that Gallardo's day is done, then. 90 pitches, 5 1/3 innings, 2 runs, 1 BB, 6 Ks. Does he still need that one more rehab start?
  10. Yes, I'm one of those cheap people who doesn't have cable or satellite, just rabbit ears. I recently got one of the new Digital TV Converter Boxes for $10 using the government coupon (www.dtv2009.gov) So now I'm getting more channels than ever. While doing some searching online, I saw this clip on YouTube about making your own antenna for picking up Digital TV channels using coat hangers. Well, I tried it last night using a 1x4 and some 12 gauge copper wire and it works great! It works better than my RCA powered antenna. Before, I was getting 30-50% signal strength for most channels. With my new antenna, I was able to get 70-90% signal strength. The only drawback is the Channel 10 is weaker (Because it is the only true VHS channel, the rest are UHF). And as an added bonus, I was able to watch the Brewers game on WMLW last night with a crystal clear picture. I've never been able to watch anything on WMLW in the past. (fixed broken code --1992)
  11. I shop at Aldi's so I usually just grab a box there and fill it up. Then flatten it and put it in the recycling at home. If I go to Pick 'n Save for something, I'll always ask for paper. Those come in handy for filling with all the paper that gets recycled. Besides, I get 80 million plastic bags from places like Walmart. I'll eventually take them back to Walmart once I have a huge garbage bag full.
  12. I'm not too excited, but I'll give him a chance. Maybe he can actually recruit a big man and win a few NCAA games.
  13. I thought it was Pop Rocks.
  14. I think it's wrong in any situation. And I totally agree about cigarette. I know this isn't what Ross was talking about, but it ticks me off when people throw crap out of their car, into my ditch. I don't know how much crap I pick out of my ditch every week. Use a gargage can!
  15. I'm also a big believer in the importance of game calling. I've always felt that one of the Brewers biggest mistakes was moving Surhoff from behind the and putting Nilsson there. The pitching staff was largely the same between 1992 and 1993, but the ERA was a full point apart. Losing Bosio and Wegman getting hurt was part of that, but pitchers were pretty much worse across the board.
  16. Here are Prince's monthly totals from last year. Hardy was ahead of him until around mid-May, I think. April - 6 May - 13 June - 8 July - 3 August - 9 Sept - 11
  17. There have been a few concerts at Miller Park, if I recall correctly.
  18. It's always been Slopper. From Jim Stingl's column: Someone should contact Karen Johnson Productions to get confirmation. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=735461
  19. I really have no desire to attend opening day with all the crazies. And how about the stories of half hour waits for the johns in the parking lot. And people charging $1, $3, $10 for people to use their makeshift johns.
  20. No one has really come close to Molitor's 136 runs scored set in 1982. This could be the year. Also, between Weeks and Fielder, the Brewers could see their first 100 walk player.
  21. Major league teams sign a contract with a minor league team, usually for 2 or 4 years. Either side can decide to not renew and look at different options. Sometimes, the minor league team wants to change. This happened with Indianapolis. They have a huge fanbase for a minor league team, and they felt the Brewers weren't doing enough to bring them winning teams. So they signed with another team. In other cases, the major league team wants a change. This happened with the High Desert. The Brewers hated the "Coors Field effect". Pitchers got destroyed and it was hard to guage hitters because of inflated numbers. So the Brewers made the change. In recent years, the Brewers changed affiliates because they wanted their teams closer together, in the southeast. (warmer weather and less travel ). Some major league teams switch because the minor league facilities are poor or older. A few other notes. The Brewers were forced to change rookie teams because a rule was passed that you couldn't have 2 teams in the same league (Brewers had Ogden and Helena in the Pioneer League). Also, the Zephyrs moved from Denver to New Orleans because of the expansion Rockies.
  22. Same here. I'm not even a casual Packer fan. The last Packer game I've seen was the Super Bowl and that was because the family had a Super Bowl Party. Even if the Brewers win the World Series, and the Packers stink for a number of years, I'm guessing even then, it wouldn't be even. I guess an incident at work is telling. Another big Brewer fan and I where talking to a woman who knows quite a bit about the Packers. We mentioned Prince Fielder bobble head day and she had no idea who we were talking about. By the way, when the Brewers win the World Series, they'll have as many titles as the storied Packers over the past 40 years.
  23. I think it was close in the late 70's and early 80's when the Brewers were contenders and the Packers stunk. The Brewers may have even had the edge. But I don't think it will ever get back to that point.
  24. I noticed that Laynce Nix isn't in the Brewerfan player index. I guess he was never added back when he re-signed.
  25. I'm predicting Parra gets two starts and then gets sent to AAA. Gallardo takes over on the 19th. That leaves Parra and Narveson in AAA in case of injury (And hope we never have to get to Jackson). Fans keep talking about Bush to the pen, but the Brewers have given no indication of doing this.
