  1. Nice article, but I have one comment. While Zduriencik hasn't taken a college pitcher in the first two rounds of the draft, he hasn't selected a high school pitcher in the first round two years in a row. Huh? What about Jeffress?
  2. Nice to be on the other side of one of these for a change. And how about our #5 starter leading the team in wins now? That means he's the best starter on the team, right?
  3. Anyone notice that Coco has 10 wins on the year? He could end up with more wins than any Brewers' starter.
  4. Here comes Wild Thing Sarfate, doing what he's been doing all season in AAA. WP, BB, BB
  5. Quite the second half for Villaneuva. This is the third time this year that he's had 6+ no hit innings in a game. Edit: And a rotation containing Sheets, Cappy, Bush, and Villaneuva would set records for fewest walks.
  6. It's good to see that Gallardo has the same kind of fire that Inman has. That fire is part of what will make them special pitchers. Three times may have been a bit much, but I have no problem with him sending a message to a hot dog.
  7. Hypothetical: Koskie can't come back, but Hardy comes back strong, with Hall starting at 3B. Do you move Hall to CF or Braun to a corner OF spot? I would imagine Braun would be the one to be moved, given Halls superior defense.
  8. So the minor league teams end up 8 games under 500 for the year. Not bad considering the Hunstville first half and the Arizona second half. That compares to 37 under and 42 under the past 2 year.
  9. Any Dusty sightings at the new digs?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Yes, we had 12 BP tickets today.
  11. My 2 year old son brought the win today. Brewers are 2-0 when he has been at games. Besides today's game, he was at the only Brewers win during an Eveland start. It was a good game all around. It was an interesting comparision to see 80 year old Kenny Lofton go back on a ball and make a nice catch, while watching a number of balls that Brady couldn't even get near. And nice throw by Hart to nail the runner at home. That was a huge turning point.
  12. How many no hit innings did he have in that other game? Was it 6? I'm beginning to think he may have a good shot at the last rotation spot next year. Should be fun to watch him, Yo, and Eveland in spring training next year. Quite a run for a guy who didn't even make the Power 50 when he first arrived. Not a knock on Toby, just amazed at how far he's come.

  15. It just occurred to me that Eure has done well enough in the second half to get a promotion and he's older. He could take over the super-utility role that Rottino holds. He can catch in a pinch as well.
  16. If Rottino is called up, AAA needs a backup catcher. None of the catchers are really knocking on the door for a promotion.
  17. I'll see your James Blunt and raise you a Paris Hilton. I'll see your Paris Hilton and raise you a Lindsay Lohan. (although they are pretty close) What bugs me are overused cliches that are misused. For example "I could care less". No you "couldn't care less" A bit off topic. I find the term "pet peeve" funny. To me, it sounds like a cute little animal what would make a good pet. "Look at that cute little peeve".
  18. The minor league teams are now a combined 6 games under .500. Could we see our first winning season since 2001? Quite a turnaround after being something like 25 games under earlier this month.

  20. I noticed that Huntsville is 9 games under 500 for the season, with 7 games left to play. Quite a run after being 21 games under in the first half.
  21. While the Brewers probably won't draft for a need, shortstops are usually a good draft choice. They are usually the best athletes and can be moved to other positions.
  22. Thanks for the report. Good stuff. Any comments on Gamel's defense?
  23. Why not give Gonzalez or Helling some work here? They haven't pitched in ages.
  24. Oh no, 6 run lead. Turnbow time. I'll still take the big lead. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  25. Gotta love Shouse. Does he come back out in the 8th?
