  1. Good night for JDLR, when does he come back to the majors? Whenever his maximum 30 days in the minors is up. The Brewers want to give him as much time as possible to get some confidence and consistency. Edit: His rehab started on June 29th, so he should be back with the Brewers by the end of July.
  2. He was pitching on 3 days rest and it appears that the defense didn't do him any favors (as you'd expect in rookie ball). It will probably depend on how he feels tomorrow.
  3. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Ohka got his start moved up a day, so he's pitching for the Baby Brewers now. Ran into a little trouble in the 3rd, 4 runs, 2 earned. EDIT: His day is done. 3 innings, 7 hits, 4 runs, 2 ER. Box Score and Game Log Link: www.minorleaguebaseball.c...k_brrrok_1
  4. Considering that Palmisano was catching 75% of the games, it should be interesting to see how playing time works out with Lee.

  6. Brevard County rained out again. Ohka to try gain tomorrow according to MLB.com. Will Ohka ever get his rehab starts in? With Ohka getting pushed back again, that means the Brewers will need 2 spot starters to start the second half.
  7. But isn't the AA roster limit 23? 12 position players and 11 pitchers. EDIT: Of course they could always cut Mabeus to make room.

  9. I was just thinking about how Bray should get promoted to replace Winkelsas. Now we just need the corresponding Lewis to Huntsville and Renkert to Brevard moves.

  11. It didn't take long for the organization to go from 10 games over .500 to 20 games under. Maybe 2 weeks. Everyone has been struggling lately. With the weather in Florida, it could take a while for Ohka to get his 3 rehab starts in. Doesn't Ohka have a translater who could have accompanied him to Nashville or Huntsville?
  12. I guess today is the day for the bullpens to lose games. Only West Virginia avoided it today.
  13. The offense-phobia seems to be spreading. Nashville has it bad now. They were tearing up the league earlier, now they're getting outscored by Huntsville.
  14. The Huntsville offense woke up today. 13 runs. They've gone entire weeks without scoring that many runs. Hopefully, Brad Nelson is starting to come around. And could you imagine a rotation with Rogers and Sarfate? Oponents would be running for cover.
  15. Anyone want to wager that Yost will use this series as an excuse to bring back a 13th pitcher?
  16. How bad is our bullpen when I'm actually relieved to have Shouse in there? He's the only guy we can count on to cover innings between the starters and Turnbow. Edit: Of course, now he goes and puts a runner on.
  17. Did I miss a report somewhere? Why hasn't Heether played a game for Brevard County yet?
  18. Not a good outing for Sarfate. I wonder how much of it had to do with Rottino being behind the plate?
  19. Looks like Mabeus just ensured that Thurman will fall to 2-7, by giving up a 6 spot in a third of an inning. Man, 7 losses with an ERA under 3. Talk about lack of run support.
  20. Wouldn't Jones be considered one of the starting 5 now? He's about as stretched out as Pena right now. Perhaps that's why they've been stretching out some of the relievers, like Hinton, to eat up innings when the starters aren't going very deep into games.
  21. I was wondering why he wasn't in the box scores lately. I just figured it was one of those minor injuries that go unreported.
  22. Corporan should be moved off the Brevard DL on the roster page. Any word on which 3 players are moving out of Huntsville? Perhaps a few pitchers getting released?
  23. I was just noticing that no Power 50 players are on the DL now. I can't remember the last time that happened. Also, Hardy and Richardson are the only position players on the DL. So except for the MLB pitching, the organization is pretty healthy.
  24. Nice line by Hendrickson through 6. 12 K's in 6 1/3 innings for Miller. It would be nice to see him move up with Yo moving up.
  25. McCalvy notes that Braun will be promoted to AA. Hopefully that's not the only move.
