  1. Iowa lost, so Nashville moves into first, like everyone else. Now Hunstville needs to win to stay in first.
  2. They'll probably wait until Huntsville clinches or the first half ends, whichever comes first.
  3. 2 across leather seating will be gone. Actually, Midwest already had plans to scale it way back, even if they weren't taken over. AirTran has said it would convert everything to its seating pattern. I think that is 2x3 seating, with a first class section. AirTran is known for it's very basic (bad?) service and low fares. They want Midwest for it's hub and flights, not it's service. The best care in the air will be no more.
  4. A little late to the discussion, but I believe Sheets had a 22 inning scoreless streak snapped today.
  5. Short term, it will probably mean more direct flights and probably cheaper fares. But I'm concerned about what happens long term when there's a slowdown. Milwaukee flights will probably get cut way back because it's not their main hub. They're not going to care about Milwaukee like a local company would. But the biggest impact will be felt in areas not related to flights and airlines. Milwaukee loses yet another good, local company. This has happened so many times in recent years. And Midwest was a great corporate citizen, supporting many local causes and businesses. How much will AirTran care about this? Look at what happened when US Bank took over Firstar. And finally, the AirTran Center? Yuck.
  6. Does anyone have an opinion of Ray's Butcher Shoppe on Loomis Road? I haven't been to the shop, but I've been to a few events that were catered by them. The food was quite good. Mmm, pig. And I used to work at Karl's Country Market. Their meat is good, but they are pricey. I know they have won some state championships with their sausages, including bratwurst. I've always wondered if Karl's secret ingredient is venison, since he was caught skimming deer meat from hunters who had their processing done there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. I love cheese flavored brats. Yes, cheese brats are great, but that's about as far as I'd go. I don't really want a fruity or flowery brat. And I may be in the minority, but I also don't like anything on my brats. I love having them plain. Just give me a plain brat that snaps when you bite it, squirting juice into your mouth. Nothing else needed. I'm hungry for a brat now.
  8. Do you think the new uniform signing date may have been a factor in all of th early signings?
  9. German butchers are coming up with different brat flavors to boost stagnant sales. Also truffle and chili-honey. Yuck. Link
  10. We're supposed to be giving the next line in the movie/tv show, aren't we? That's what I was thinking. Here should be an easy one to get back on track. What line comes next? "The fog is getting thicker"
  11. The last few games make me wonder if we'll be seeing this soon: 2B Weeks SS Hardy 3B Braun 1B Fielder RF Hart LF Jenkins/Mench C Estrada CF Hall P
  12. When can we get Thatcher in a Brewers' uniform? Almost 2 K's per inning in AAA. Tiny walk numbers and no long balls this year.
  13. Has Brewerfan.net ever like any of Jack Z's first round picks? He finds quite a few gems in the subsequent rounds, but his first round picks are universally hated.
  14. If I remember correctly, didn't a lot of these kids mash in Helena last year too? Green and Caufield put up very pedestrian numbers in Helena last year. Errecart and Gillespie were the big mashers and they went to Brevard. Chapman put up good numbers in Helena, but he was repeating at Helena.
  15. Cain now has the same batting average as Errecart. Weren't they something like 130 points apart less than a month ago? He has really turned it around quickly.
  16. Better not tell Jamie. I wonder if it was Dusty?
  17. Did Brevard ever fill Garrison's rotation spot?
  18. Obviously, this site makes me a winner. Ditto. I won the Brewerfan.net raffle at the Beloit Snappers game at Miller Park. I have the Manny Parra autographed ball displayed proudly. Hoping it becomes a major league autograph in a few months. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I just hope he gets his head screwed on straight and doesn't stink up the floor for Marquette again next season.
  20. The thing I've noticed about Katin over the past month is that his strikeouts seem to be down. Earlier in the year, he seemed to be striking out twice every game.
  21. Wow, quite the first half so far. 40 games over .500 for the minor league teams now. Nashville needs to quit slacking and get in first place like everyone else. Hopefully, a Parra promotion will put them over the top soon.
  22. The paper today said that Yost plans to play Hart more, now that he is completely healthy. The wrist kept him out of the lineup for most of the past month.
  23. and then over to first to keep Smokin' John Smoltz honest? I figured he was just trying to get Fielder to knock out Smoltz on the tag. Smotlz had to come out the very next inning, so I think it worked. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Did something happen to Brewer yesterday? He was replaced by Mojica yesterday, and he's out of the lineup today.
  25. Bush has typically pitched better at home, so hopefully he can continue that. And Weeks certainly looks like he needs a day off.
