Eveland appears to be punching his ticket to AAA to start 2006. Although fatigue may be a factor, which makes you wonder if the AZ fall league is the best idea.
Yost said Miller could have played today, so he could be back. How sweet is it to have only 8 games left and to be at 500 and also not be officially elminated from the postseason yet? It's been a long time.
Maybe Yost just wanted his best defensive lineup out there this time. Out of Lee, Cruz, Hart, and Magruder, I would think Cruz is the best defensive option in left.
Ugh! Is de la Rosa pitching himself off the team for next year? No matter how good his stuff is, if he can't throw strikes, he's wasting a roster spot.
Good to see magruder still stinks. I look forward to not having that guy on the team next year. Amen to that. He's below the Uecker line now, but Ned keeps trotting him out there.
Rodriguez is quietly putting together a nice year in limited action. It seemed like a head-scratcher when he was skipped from West Virginia to Huntsville, but he has certainly made the most of it. His playing time has increased recently and he seems to be part of the reason for Huntsville's turnaround (along with Heether).
Salome's errors at Helena are becoming a distant memory. No errors yet and 2 guys picked off already. And at least one CS that I remember. I am definitely on his bandwagon.
So Sheets has a perfect game going minus the first AB. Just 9 batters to go. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants if Sheets retired 27 straight and we lost 1-0?
