  1. Glad teams haven't figured out that Fielder eats lefties for lunch.
  2. Yesterday's WV game indicates Brantley came off the DL. I believe their roster is now now full. So they'll have to make a move if Holmberg is ready to come off the DL in the next few days.
  3. With Pena joining Jones on the DL, it's probably a safe bet that Narron will see action tonight, backing up Parra.
  4. 2 more K's and another walk. And only 80 pitches through 6? Wow. Anyone else watching Gameday? He's all over the place. EDIT: There goes the no-no with a single in the 7th. What a game.
  5. No hitter through 5 tonight, btw. Thanks for jinxing it.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Another HBP for Sarfate and his first K in the 5th. "Wild Thing" Sarfate?
  7. Any reason as to why Inman came out of the pen? The Brewers like to piggyback their young starters. It keeps their innings down and it gives them late game experience. Would Sarfate's night be considered "wildly effective" so far? No runs, but 3 walks and 2 HBP in 4 innings. And no K's.
  8. Read between-the-lines , but no, we don't know about any such forthcoming move... There was a quote by Yost in the notes a few days ago. Basically saying how his defensive shortcomings have been overstated and that he blocks balls with the best of them.
  9. I just noticed, except for Huntsville, every team is either first or second in their league for batting average. Quite a difference from past years, when most teams were consistently near the bottom. I was most surprised to the Power leading the league, but I guess yesterday's game would do it. Brewers - 2/16 Nashville - 2/16 Huntsville - 9/10 Bervard Country - 1/12 West Virginia - 1/16
  10. No move has been made to replace Wooley on the roster. I thought I remember a report saying that Holmberg could be back by this weekend.
  11. By my count, Bibbs now leads the organization with 4 outfield assists.
  12. What's up with Barnwell this year? He hasn't hit above .250 since rookie ball. Now he's hitting home runs and batting .360. Always nice to see guys like him do well. And Yeatman looking good so far. He's only 23. Could he be working his way back to prospect status? He's almost all that's left from that 2002 Beloit pitching staff. (Jones, Saenz, Dan Hall, the other Dan Kolb, Artman, Oakes, Steitz, Nolasco, Stavros). Yikes. And Fielder and Chavez are the only position guys left.
  13. no time to set his feet or anything That may be the key. No time to think, just react.
  14. So we would need a 5th starter on Saturday. Eveland's day to pitch would be Thursday. He could get held back a couple days. Day's off don't help a whole lot this month. We'd still need a 5th starter 4 times.
  15. All 5 teams are playing .500 ball now. I know that hasn't happened in quite a while. The organization is also 20 games above .500. Nice to see prospects winning games. Quite an improvement over recent years (-37, -69, -46, -54)
  16. Did we ever hear what was wrong with Richardson? Or will we not hear anything because of the lack of coverage for Brevard County?
  17. Holmberg is really mashing. Can't either he or Iribarren play SS so he can move up?
  18. Good things happen when you throw strikes.
  19. Davis tied the franchise record for walks with 2 blasts from the past, Everet Stull and Jaimie Cocanower
  20. Come on Ned, pull the trigger already!
  21. 4K's and 8 BB's? Can a pitcher be 3TO?
  22. Why do I have the feeling that Ned is going to try and get 5 innings out of Davis? And that it's going to cost the Brewers. And Davis has actually lowered his ERA today?!
  23. Well, Capuano has dropped from 3.8 to 2.8 BB/9In so far. That's a 26% decrease from last year.
  24. Hunstville could certainly use a couple of those Brevard county bats. The Huntsville has an OPS of .642. Sollman is mashing in his second stint with Brevard County. Hopefully, he'll get bumped up when Richardson returns.
  25. 3 blowouts so far for the organization, but Nashville and Huntsville are getting shutout.
