  1. 5 mil. per walk? Let's see some strikes!
  2. Now if Weeks can get on, steal a base, get bunted over and score.....I'd feel a lot better. Step 2, check (at least the bunt part).
  3. Time to jump all over Wood with the top of the order. (Would you bunt with Gwynn to play for 1 run here?)
  4. Nice fundamentals on the rundown. 2 outs.
  5. I'm a bit surprised that the Brewers didn't double switch; this would have been a decent chance for Torres to pitch multiple innings. ...or maybe they'd prefer Counsell to face Marmol (as opposed to Gross)?
  6. Hall doing his part to make sure the Cubs can't work around J.J. to get to the pitcher's spot.
  7. Really surprised Sheets came back out. I'd be shocked if he lasts past 6 today (mildly surprised if he makes it through 5). 96 on that heater from Sheets! Gameday showed him at 94 mph...2 faster than anything he threw to Zambrano earlier in the inning. Safe to say, he kept his arm warmed up during the delay.
  8. Gwynn with a hit and a steal. Looks like Ned is going to keep green lighting his runners like he did in ST.
  9. Inside the park HR by Tony Gwynn Jr. (because someone slips on a wet area of the field....since this game isn't being played in a dome.)
  10. 8-23 FG (3-14 3pt) Today Stephen Curry remembered that he's mortal. :|
  11. Powerline netwroking isn't necessary, if you have another means of connecting the slingbox to the network. If you can string an ethernet cable into the box, you're good to go. I'd assume that you can configure a Wi-Fi bridge as well, but I've never done it. (The slingbox my parent bought doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi; I don't believe any of them do.)
  12. I can get WTMJ on my car radio while in Central Wisconsin, so I can certainly believe it's possible to find areas where the local affiliates are out of reach, yet WTMJ comes in loud and clear. Regardless of which station wins the contract, just having a second bidder is going to mean more money for the club. IIRC, Clear Channel didn't bid on the last contract (not wanting to preempt Limbaugh and Belling for every afternoon game).
  13. My parents bought a slingbox (Solo?) so that my mother can watch Brewers games on the road, since her job requires a good deal of travel. (As an added bonus, it means that I get access to a few channels that I can't get on my cable...and as long as they're in the Milwaukee area, I don't have to worry about missing a Packers game because it's on NFL Network.) I'd say it works perfectly...but for whatever reason, the adhesive that's supposed to keep the IR sensor in place (to change channels on the cable box) isn't doing a very good job. And, since I'm the one who does tech support for all their A/V products....I can't fix it until the next time(s) I visit. One word of warning: since the Slingbox requires an internet connection to work its magic, you need to have a way to send the connect the box to the network. I don't remember whether they make a Wi-Fi bridge for the device; I know my parents bought power-line networking (also made by Sling Media) in order to bridge the gap to their router.
  14. NDOG - my apologies, I hit the reply to the wrong post with the picture. I was talking about ccbrew's comment that Curry didn't have a foul called on him while Flowers was in the game. (Of course, that would have been quite a feat, given that Flowers played all 40 minutes according to the J-S box score.)
  15. I can't comment on the picture, because I don't even know what part of the game it came from. That said, Flowers drew a charge on Curry....I think early in the second half. So you're wrong there.
  16. Does anyone else remember a year ago, when we were discussing how not having Braun on the 25-man roster to start the season might cost the Brewers a lot of early wins? For some reason....this discussion reminds me of that one a great deal. Just to point it out, Gwynn's numbers as a rookie (at age 24) were better than Gross' at the same age / level: Gwynn ('07): 123 AB, 2 2b, 1 3b, 0 HR, .260 BA / .326 OBP / .317 Slg. Gross ('04): 129 AB, 4 2b, 3 HR, .209 BA / .311 OBP / .310 Slg. Gross has had one good season (2006), the only time that his OBP has been on the good side of .330. Personally, I'm willing to take my chances with the younger guy, since I'd rather give him the chance to show what he can do. It's not like the PECOTA numbers are ever wrong....especially not for younger players.
  17. I actually submitted a 'thoughts and prayers' message through the Dbacks 'contact us' portion of the website. I don't know if it will ever actually make it to Sharpie, but it seems like the type of thing that the team would look to pass along.
  18. They were being run around screens all game, and were cut down to a 6 man rotation once Hughes went down (Bo never once used Jarmuz or Leuer to spell some of his guys, IIRC). Part of the reason why they kept missing long jumpers down the stretch is that their legs were dead.
  19. The Badgers have 4 players in double figures, and are not that far off their season averages for FG% (.38 v. .451) and 3PT% (.33 v .356). Credit where it's due, they just ran into a buzzsaw tonight.
  20. The Badgers can't hit a jumper...their guys just have tired legs right now. Bo doesn't seem to want to go deep into the bench (Jarmuz, Leuer, etc.) looking for someone to spark the team.
  21. Badgers have committed more fouls in the first 2:30 of the second half than they did in the entire first half. I do not like their offense right now.
  22. I'm sure FSN would rather be showing a Brewers game than a Bucks game right now, but they're still contractually obligated to show some late-season games (on the off chance that the Bucks might actually be playing for something).
  23. My take: Davidson needed to shoot 61.5% from outside ....just to be tied at the half. Look for Wisconsin to slowly pull away in the second half (I hope).
  24. The badgers need to be more careful with their passing....but these teams are still in the 'feeling eachother out' phase of the game
