  1. Bonds and Dunn are your examples for how slow players can play the outfield. Bonds is the best home run hitter of all time. Dunn is one of the top 5 power hitters in the game over the past few years. I fail to see how Salome compares to either of those examples. And then you mention Prince, a player who basically forced two good hitters to be traded from Milwaukee (Sexson and Overbay) and another prospect to be moved (Hart) all because Prince was too slow to play anywhere but first base. I still don't see a good argument here.
  2. Rickie looked like he hurt his wrist on that last swing.
  3. Is availability really the best ability?
  4. Basically the 35 next to Milwaukee means that any combination of Brewers losses and Cubs wins equaling 35 will make the Brewers unable to win the division.
  5. Give em some poetic justice JJ.
  6. For some, it seems like getting away from Maddux is what makes everything click.
  7. Warranted or not, there is heat in that kitchen. If it was too hot for him, he should know what to do.

  9. Whoa - forget apples to oranges, that's like apples to spaceships. Dentists don't need tips, they earn plenty of money and they deserve it after years of school. Bartenders rarely make minimum wage and earn the vast majority of their money off of tips.
  10. We'll see some of those guys from AA in a couple weeks. The reason Nix was called up is because he is a corner outfielder with some pop, and he is filling a void left by an injured corner outfielder with pop. None of the AA guys outside of Gillespie really fill that void. While Nix has largely failed on the major league level, he at least has shown that he can get it done at AAA. None of the AA prospects have shown that yet. Gamel, Brantley, Escobar and even Salome might become pretty good major league players, but to ask them to come up and perform anything like Miguel Cabrera is asking quite a bit. We caught 1.21 jiggawatts worth of lightning in a bottle in Braun last year. We'd be very lucky to have someone else come up and be half as good as that again out of the next wave of prospects.
  11. Cajmere aka Green Velvet gets respect from me for being a pioneer, but come on - that tune just gets on my nerves. If it's going to be repetitive one-line techno, it's gotta be Steve Poindexter's Work That Motha(expletive deleted). I still have that on 12".
  12. I always tip at least a buck a drink, no matter what, even if the drinks are crazy cheap. In my opinion that is all the more reason to not be cheap to the bartender, who is basically doing the same amount of work no matter what the drink costs. Unless you get some kind of girlie drink, then that is extra work.
  13. Besides hair on the chin and the flat brim, I see no resemblance.
  14. Well he definitely couldn't deal on the mound, so at least he figured something out.
  15. 20% across the board. Easy math. Unless of course they were awesome or terrible. Then I adjust accordingly.
  16. Netflix is integrating with Xbox live pretty soon. Going to be a nice service, download movies on the fly. I might look into getting it. And really though, you talk about a niche market and then complain that Macs aren't supported?
  17. FSN feed works fine via MLB.tv. The Schroeder - Prince interview was either last year or the year before, I can't remember, but I know that it was right around the time that the Cecil-Prince issue was in the media and Bill acted like a complete idiot, asking him why he didn't call his dad or talk to his dad, etc. Prince was obviously not amused.
  18. I don't use that and I'm running Vista right now so it's not even an option for me. I'm sure someone else can help.
  19. Haha, Schroeder just dropped the bomb on Prince interviews, something like "When interviewing Prince, only ask questions about Prince." This obviously a reference to his boneheaded interview a year or so ago where he pressed the Cecil issue and Prince got pissed.
  20. For reference, rebooting a PC is just turning it off and on. What you are planning on doing is a format. Itunes - I don't use this, someone else can help I'm sure. Firefox Bookmarks - go to Bookmarks, Organize bookmarks. Click Import and Backup, Export HTML. That file that is exported will contain all of your bookmarks. A better thing to do would be to use the Foxmarks extension, which automatically backs up all of your bookmarks for you. Up to you if you want to look in to that or not. I use it religiously. For your parents email, you will need to save the email server addresses (POP or IMAP and SMTP). As long as your internet connection is set to Automatically obtain an IP address you should be fine.
  21. Graduated from Greendale High in '98, mascot is the Panther. Football team sucked while I was there, but our cheerleaders and poms were always state/regional champs and would go to nationals like clockwork. Also our baseball team won state in '95 I think, and guys and girls basketball went to state that same year, allowing all of the students to board buses and go to the UW Fieldhouse for the games. That was fun. I had a blast in high school. Fun times. No really famous alumni though, a few college football and basketball players but that's it.
