  1. Not cool. What's less cool was his initial backhanded remark at me. Whatever, though.
  2. You'd have to guess it's a health issue. Maybe he realized Bavasi will just screw it up, too.
  3. Cody just had a feature article done on him, due to the fact he was having a dominating season in Low-A...which every 23 year old has according to Brettac. I really wouldn't even expect a 23 year old to pitch in low A. And yeah, every 23 year old should tear through the Midwest league pretty easily, when they're facing competition that is fresh out of high school. But, hey, way to be a jerk anyhow. Much appreciated.
  4. The guy dominated low A-ball. You would expect him to, being a college senior. I wouldn't call the guy a prospect, but it was just a move to open a roster spot/grant a player's request, so whatever. Capellan wasn't going to have much success being a guy that pitched once every 10 days, and neither will Spurling or whoever replaces Spurling eventually.
  5. I think it would only probably go up about 3% part of the reason for the Brewers big jump was that they finally got ahead in something called adjusted standings. Precisely. They picked up 9 runs in their run differential.
  6. Not to mention there is quality control on what is uploaded at OiNK. Unlike a place like Demonoid, which is a public tracker that's filled with transcodes and sub-par rips, etc.
  7. I had always thought that he said he didn't have ambtions of being a GM, but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, there are more highly thought of scouting directors than Jack Z. (Logan White, as an example), who would be a flashier pick for the job in a big market like Chicago.
  8. I'm for best of 9. I guess it's more likely that the best team wins that way. But, that's not really the point of the World Series, it's just to decide a champion. EDIT: I don't see the point of the neutral site, though.
  9. about 100 people were seen leaving the stadium after the 3rd inning. That'll show 'em. Way to stick it to the man.
  10. It's unreal. The best torrent site there is.
  11. Use this instead, they are having server issues: 85.17.40.71/
  12. I think Littlefield is a decent GM, actually. He's been doing some smart things. I loved the trade for LaRoche, but he hasn't hit much outside of a couple week stretch. If he would have turned out, and I still expect him to, they would be somewhat better. He's also good at signing decent veterans to one year deals and trading them at the deadline, which is a smart thing for a team in their position to do. He still has had some head-scratchers (Jack Wilson extension, to name one), but I think he can turn that into a semi-decent team. They've also had some bad luck with prospects to this point, some of the pitching prospects that looked like they would really move the team up have had difficulties.
  13. An enclosure turns an internal hard drive into an external hard drive. OK, that's pretty much what I figured. I'll have to look into prices and whatnot.
  14. This dude: http://www.tvgasm.com/newsgasm/news/2007/01/21/americanidol/kennethbriggs/kennethbriggs.jpg
  15. Brett, it turned out that it was my CompUSA enclosure that stopped working, not my hard drive. I've been very happy with my Seagate purchases over the years... the one time I didn't buy a Seagate, I got a Western Digital, and that thing died inside of a year. I've had 3-4 Seagates, and have never had one die on me. Cool, thanks. I know virtually nothing about this, but what exactly is an "enclosure"? Like on that one that I linked to earlier, I take it that I wouldn't have to get a seperate enclosure for that, right?
  16. 9 run lead in the 9th. Can I relax now? No. I'm still mad that they took off the 4th, 6th, and 8th. I think the Brewers have a problem maintaining focus during even numbered innnings. Come on Ned!
  17. Nah. I'd say 124 pitches over 8 innings on a nice June day is no big deal at all.
  18. They didn't take those innings off. They just didn't score in them. That said, I'm expecting at least 36 runs today at this point. Anything less would tell me that they're not giving 100%.
  19. Grace knows his stuff. No big innings today, that's for sure. Time to bunt and move the runners.
  20. Well, she's dumb either way. Anywho, big congrats to the Mench for blasting through that .700 barrier yesterday.
  21. Premature and considering what is going on this weekend...not cool... What's going on this weekend?
  22. I honestly can't believe that people actually act like that. That's just stupid, no matter what team you root for (and I've seen Brewers fans do similar crap to other teams fans - in particular Twins fans). Slapping a total stranger on the back of the head? Unreal.
  23. I was looking at externals yesterday at Best Buy... I think I will stay away from Seagate now. I know this has been discussed at some point, but does anyone have any thoughts on Maxtor? Particularly this one: www.bestbuy.com/site/olsp...5610071764 I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a decent bang for the buck, I guess. EDIT: Further research informs me that they (Maxtor and Seagate) are one and the same.
  24. Aw, man. I missed the thread that led to this. I always love to gawk at the car wrecks.
