  1. You pretty much have to try to walk Patterson. Perplexing.
  2. I can't say I have noticed any difference with his "approach", no matter what Bill Schroeder and Sveum tell me. Same awful stuff as always.
  3. Punk mentioned workrate? That's pretty sweet, to me. Worked shoots are great when they guy doing the shoot is good and can tell the story. One of the worst things nowadays is that they script out the entire promos for guys instead of letting them find their voice. Before, they would tell a guy like Austin, Rock, etc. what they wanted the promo to accomplish and let them work it out. It's so much more authentic that way.
  4. Agreed. Which makes the statistical accomplishments valid imo, but only really against players from the same (roughly) era. I actually shared LouisEly's affinity for those early '90s Indians teams, & also like him, I loved Thome. I even remember when he was a "third baseman" I disagree, I don't think that "everyone" from the era needs to be labled a cheater automatically. I have no evidence, but do not think that Thome was a juicer. I would be more likely to go with the original poster and say that Thome was one of the clean one's of the era. I didn't mean to label him as a cheater. I don't care who took steroids, personally, and I don't view them as the greatest evil in the history of the game. Pitchers and hitters both used the stuff, and I think the playing field was pretty even during the "steroid era".
  5. Yeah, basically enjoy it while it lasts, which won't be much longer.
  6. I'm glad he hasn't been running with Morgan. Just because a guy is fast doesn't mean he can steal bases.
  7. This post definitely just caused me to laugh out loud. Awesome. Please don't let me be that guy in 25 years. If you had that stache, you would never have had to start this thread.
  8. Little bits I saw of Benjamin, he was pretty impressive. Miz kicking Mysterio's face off was awesome, pardon the pun.
  9. Watching Raw for the first time since MITB, and it really irritates me that they need to keep burying Swagger. They've already booked the IC and US belts into oblivion, so I guess why not keep ruining the guys who run in those circles? I have thought they could make Swagger into a Mr. Perfect type of character, but it's quite late for that now.
  10. I think you're better off to assume pretty much everyone was juicing.
  11. I think I hate the Cubs most. I have really begun to hate the Pirates this year, just due to the media attention they got. It's really the attitude of "that team deserves to win". No, they don't. If they are managed incompetently, they get what they deserve. The Cubs and their fans are the poster children of this mentality, so I hate them most. We have all been long-time fans of what was a perennial loser. And they lost because they were mostly run by buffoons for two decades. I didn't feel entitled when they started to turn it around.
  12. Oh, come on! They are the most knowledgeable fans in the game! They even applaud the opponent when they do something!
  13. Yeah, just because the results were favorable doesn't mean the process was correct.
  14. FoxyFoxes gets older, and they stay the same age.
  15. After that defensive play at 2B and that pathetic AB, I'd rather see Wilson released than Counsell. Get him off of my TV.
  16. His defense behind him killed Marcum way more than the strikezone Exactly. That inning was all about why the Brewers likely aren't championship-caliber.
  17. It always amazes me that a guy can play the infield for his entire life and not be able to throw a baseball.
