  1. If only there were coaches or managers that could impart this wisdom on them.obviously they are more than likely trying to coach that...we don't have the type of players that will allow for that to happen. You live by it and die by it. Just how it goes.
  2. That interview is between innings... I can't stand Roenicke, but at least have some intellectual honesty when you rip him.
  3. This is an interesting decision for RR... can't say I am sure what I prefer him doing. I almost feel like saying to stick with Wolf because Estrada sucks, too.
  4. He seems to be taking a kind of passive-aggressive approach judging from this inning.
  5. Yup, me too. Fortunately I only work til 4:30 anyhow and live two minutes from work.
  6. I really loved County Stadium. The only really memorable game I was at there was Sexson's first game as a Brewer, against the Rockies in 2000. He didn't do anything, but it was during D'Amico's chase for the ERA title and he was pitching amazing and hit a bomb. He pitched into the 9th, but ran into some troubles and turned it over to the new closer: Curtis Leskanic.
  7. That play by Pujols was awesome.
  8. Sweet. I always thought that was the way they should have went with him. Glad to see him getting the push he deserves. He's hitting it out of the park from what I watch. I mainly just watch the PPV's and bits and pieces here and there of the weekly TV, but I think he's crushing.
  9. Sheets' 18 K game Branyan hitting two bombs off the scoreboard in the home opener against the Pirates The balk-off against the Nats
  10. No question he would have caught that ball. It was really not even that spectacular of a play had he made it. In the doc they even do some video trickery to take all of the fans out of the shot and show where the ball was in relation to Alou's glove. Regardless, if he doesn't act like a jerk and throw a tantrum, it's not such a big story. It's a pretty common thing. The thing that always also gets glossed over is that this wasn't game 7, and that the Cubs had the lead in that game and blew it as well.
  11. On the bright side... Mark Henry. That's about all, though.

  13. It's never ok anywhere.

  15. I certainly lean toward statistics as something I enjoy when it comes to the game. However, I definitely understand the people who don't care for them. To me, when it gets to the uber advanced metrics that I have zero idea on how they come to exist, it loses me. I don't want to see some stupid heat chart that makes zero sense. Look at something like SIERA, that basically was a junk stat. There are loads and loads of them, and more and more noise every week in the statistical "community", and they don't make the game clearer or easier to understand, or events easier to value. It just muddies the waters more and more and creates more skepticism. I mean, I love statistics, etc. I love when something comes along that makes me go "yes, that makes sense". Lately, it seems like that hasn't happened as much and you have a lot of elitism and jackassery. Fan Graphs, for instance. I've begun to love the people that make fun of it (the "Fan Graphs as Tweets" page, etc.) , because most of their stuff is just silly. I like when people are actually talented writers, like most of the BP roster was. This article pretty much sums up how I feel lately: http://www.lookoutlanding...roblem-with-sabermetrics
  16. Wow, what an absolute mess. Thank goodness I don't actually buy these things. Overbooked doesn't even begin to describe it. WCW circa 2000 is alive and well.
  17. If they were to somehow blow this... does he get fired?
  18. I hope people don't hold this type of stuff against him. He was going to be a Brewer for his six years and move on from the day he was drafted, and there was nothing wrong with that. If both parties know going in that it's for a finite period of time, and then it's over, nobody gets hurt (is that still about baseball? I'm not sure). Every move both parties made over the years pointed toward him moving on, from the Brewers committing to Braun/Weeks/Hart/Gallardo, to Fielder hiring Boras, etc. Big deal, and have a great rest of your career in Baltimore or whichever AL East team you wind up with.
  19. there have been plenty of players who border on cockiness/arrogance and have done just fine. Ryan Braun, for example.
  20. The plan is to bring McGehee in and move Green over today.
  21. Today's lineup makes the most sense of any they have trotted out in quite some time. Now, just put Hairston at SS.
