  1. He should. He's the best player in the league. Just imagine what he'll be like when he hits his prime.
  2. I'd definitely rather have Shoppach than Maldonado, but I'm not much of a believer in Maldonado because of his offense. Shoppach mashes LHP's, so that's nice to have around, too. Obviously you wouldn't want to platoon Lucroy since he's terrible against RHP's, but if it's going to be a "one guy starts 95% of the games" catcher situation, I wouldn't mind a back-up that has most of their value in their ability to hit southpaws.
  3. Masterson is a good pitcher. I'd love to have him, and I think he's probably a 3.50 ERA type guy in the NL and pretty durable to this point. Hudson is sort of a good comp, though Masterson is probably about 8" taller (in real life height).
  4. The A's are so much fun to watch this year. They have made baseball fandom so much more enjoyable with the Brewers season being such a trainwreck. I wish they had a good old A's offense, though Chris Carter has come up and mashed and Jonny Gomes has always been a personal favorite and it's been nice to see him come back and hit like he always was capable of. The pitching has been the story, though, with them leading the AL in ERA. The entire rotation is good (obviously helped by the O.Co) and they have some really nice young bullpen arms that are performing well to go along with it. They probably don't have the horses to hang around with the big money teams in that division and league through September, but this season has already pretty much been a success.
  5. I don't see why they'd call him up just to have him play off the bench. Gotta think he'll get playing time. Michael Young has really been struggling, and provides no power whatsoever. I am just going off of what Daniels said about him being brought up to provide power to the bench.
  6. Sheets 18 K game against the Braves. I also was at the balk off.
  7. I'd love to add him to one of my fantasy teams, but it sounds like he's going to be on the bench. Any of the DFW area residents have any insight into that?
  8. What if that infielder is Keith Ginter? I said LIGHT hitting middle infielders!
  9. I forgot how many there were but the answer isn't one. Nobody took my "sometimes" answer as anything in any of them. But then again, I didn't "play" baseball in "college", or have a blog that touted the acquisition of Chad Moeller as "key", so I can see why I lacked credibility. If you like light hitting middle infielders, this message board clearly isn't for you.
  10. For the record: Parra, K-Rod, Kranitz. I stand by all three. I've been critical of others too, but no I never called for Weeks to be cut. Well, they could definitely give Axford that extension for cheap now.
  11. It's easy to forget how big of a man Rogers is. The size alone makes it easy to see why he was a first rounder, especially when it comes with a 95 MPH fastball.
  12. I watch a lot of A's games and was very high on De Los Santos last year when he was up. He's really filthy. I thought he would be their closer this year but it didn't materialize.
  13. They really shouldn't be counting on Gindl being an every day player. At least I hope they're not.
  14. I would love if the A's got A-Ram, but I don't think they want that contract.
  15. Yeah, this has been awesome. It would have been an awesome comeback even if it ends tomorrow.
  16. I listen to anything Jason Wilde does.
  17. I wish they would just get this over with.
  18. Kevin Nash always tries to interject himself into things. I highly doubt those guys are going to reunite. What would they do? Hobble around and talk? Hogan's been great in TNA lately, before he needed to have back surgery, but it's not like any of those guys can wrestle. Nash never could and he especially can't now. Hogan can't take bumps anymore at all. Hall is in and out of rehab. Look at how fat Sean Waltman was on Raw 1000. Hennig is dead. Savage is dead. Bagwell might as well be dead. Scott Norton is probably the best living nWo worker still going. So, I guess the nWo could be him and Vincent. Basically, Kevin Nash likes to work the Twitter marks.
  19. What are Mabeus and Winkelsas up to these days?
  20. Yeah, I was very happy to see that he asked BAL about Machado in the Heyman piece markedman linked. EDIT: Also, Jon Heyman -- this is not how you hold a baseball bat... http://i.imgur.com/W7Tqu.jpg He's just holding it how Scott Boras told him to.
  21. Wow, I just realized how terrible JJ Hardy has been this season. Awful to this point, aside from some homers.
