  1. Kotsay misses ball Morgan gets, bad base running, Loe giving up hits and another Yuni fail...getting the full bf.net list of champions experience tonight!
  2. Boy is Plush getting it. Glad I didn't wear the jersey. Docile crowd until he came up.
  3. SoCal has made it to NoCal and is ready for another Brewers win! Beautiful day in the City. I've got my 9 year old good luck charm with me...Braun always puts on a show for her!!! Saw a number of fans around the city today. I've swapped out of the Plush jersey into the Yount for tonight. T Plush can handle himself. Ahhhhgottago...
  4. Great win! Great to know we'll come home in good shape! I'm heading up for tomorrow night's game...thinking twice about wearing my Tony Plush jersey...maybe I go with the more classic Yount.
  5. Down 1-0 and it already feels over. They've had some success v. Cain before...hopefully we can drum something up. Anyone else think a better SS can square that up and keep the runner at 2B or is my Yuni bias that bad?
  6. Both pitchers look sharp tonight...could be 1-0 or 2-1 type of night. Maybe a Braun bomb to seal it.
  7. Interesting note pitchleague...the calf appeared much better on TV last night. That's a little discouraging. I wonder if he can still heal while playing? I just don't know the risk of aggravating it while he's out there. If Braun's shoulder is better, he could return to the power stats he had in April/May...the calf could hurt his OBP with him not beating out all those infield hits. If that's the case, he should swap spots with Rickie and bat 5th until he can use his speed.
  8. Really bummed about GoGo's injury. RR was right...he saved the game last night. Most of the issues with Gomez were due to where he was batting and how he was being used. Since he's been in the platoon his hitting can excel and his D is spectacular. The platoon with Plush has been a real strong point for the team. Gomez could still play a role in September. He may be able to come back a little sooner as a PR or defender before he gets his stroke back. I'd still look at a modified platoon with Plush. If Carroll's D is solid and he hits lefties better than Plush he should be out there. Plush is really suited to being a platoon player...which still gets him out there 70% of the time.
  9. I'm no RRR defender, but I'm not going to knock him for last night. Narvy pitched great and had a low pitch count, but he's still been susceptible to a quick drop off. Yes, I'd probably have him out there with K-Rod warming and a quick hook instead, but K-Rod/Axford are about as good as it gets for 8/9. I'm not a big fan of the 8/9 inning roles...I like to use the top guy in the high leverage situation regardless of which inning it is. I'd also have rather seen Ax come in to pitch the 9th against 3-4-5 with Saito a potential save against the bottom of the order...worked out ok, but that's my call over the conventional don't burn the closer on the road. An 8/9 role makes more sense with guys like K-Rod/Ax than it did with committee or Loe/Ax.
  10. Brought this up in the IGT last night...thoughts? Anyone else think Braun's shoulder getting fully healthy is a side benefit of the calf strain? He's been in a bit of a homer drought before the injury, but that's 2 days in a row with the full extension bomb. If his calf heals up ok, he could be in for a monster finish.
  11. I'd bring in Ax here...go for the W...they have meat of order coming up and so do we. Have Ax put them down and we'll get a run...then go with Saito against bottom of order.
  12. Tough to hate that at bat...tough pitch right on the corner...either a ground out or take a chance on a walk. Can't fault him there.
  13. Ugly photo of Drew's slide on the front page of the Journal sports section for now...full 180 the wrong way...nasty.
  14. Don't think that walk will get me over after that caught stealing Yuni. Anyone else think Braun's shoulder getting fully healthy is a side benefit of the calf strain? He's been in a bit of a homer drought before the injury, but that's 2 days in a row with the full extension bomb. If his calf heals up ok, he could be in for a monster finish.
  15. Keep hating on him. It's heating him up. Much better than watching Wilson and Counsell play. Yeah, right. Yun-E-6 strikes again.
  16. OK Yo...get 3 quick ones, one more at bat for Braunie then get him out of there.
  17. Would love to shred this bullpen for the last two games of the series.
  18. If Braun can't run, why not bat him fifth. Much of his value at #3 is getting on and scoring in front of Prince. At 5 he can drive in runs then just wait at first to be swallowed up by the black hole that follows him at 6/7.
  19. I'm an early bird, so I like the earlier starts...I wish all evening starts were 6:00 or 6:30. Even the regular starts work well for a Milwaukee fan on the west coast...I go to be early and usually know the score. The only time it's an issue is games out here where I go and get home late. I wind up getting there for BP anyway so I can beat the daily carmaggedon.
