  1. I might go Morgan/Braun/Fielder/Weeks/Hart. Still puts Hart in the 5 hole, but has Weeks after Fielder. If Hart is allergic to batting fifth, I might go Morgan/Hart as well. I know RR views it as have that scrappy guy 2nd so he can bunt, but only RR would bunt in the first inning. When Braun is out, I like the idea of having either Weeks or Fielder bat 3rd.
  2. In honor of the series split with the Rockies...how about a thread to balance out the "least enjoyable" Brewer player thread? Trying to keep things balanced...and I'm tired of writing things about my distaste of Yuni! I'll start: 1) Rickie Weeks - Constant hustle, plays with power, speed and great attitude. Watching him improve beyond his early career struggles with inconsistency and injuries has been a true joy to watch. He's the team leader. I flat out love this guy. 2) It's tough not to love Prince and Braun...they are just special. I feel the same way about Axford too, but I have a couple players who I call my guilty pleasures: Nyjer Morgan aka Tony Plush...energetic and a hard nosed grinder, maybe a little crazy, but in a good way. I also dig Carlos Gomez...he frustrates me too, but he's an amazing fielder and he seems to have a great attitude...I find myself really pulling for him.
  3. Hate to pile on with the consensus, but Yuni is just cringe worthy in all aspects of his game...bad at defense (his fundamentals are sooooo bad...get in front of the dang ball and square up!), hitting (lousy uppercut swing without the power and no plate discipline) and baserunning (he's not that fast and makes dumb decisions on the basepaths). I root for him because he's a Brewers and hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm not...the guy is just awful and I can't stand watching him. He has replaced Braden Looper as my least favorite Brewer...that guy just had a dumb look on his face all the time...made me think he didn't care.
  4. Loe and his filthy slider are money against RH...only a manager who has no idea what he's doing would put him in against tough lefties in a high leverage situation...and that folks is our problem.
  5. You've done it TLB, I now have a new sig...
  6. Loe against a lefty...RRR you are an idiot. DM needs to fire this moron now.
  7. Walking along street carrying my phone listening to Uecker (trying to avoid carmageddon)...just like when I was a kid with a transistor radio...and they are losing...just like the 70s. Cmon Crew!
  8. Why does Yuni look so surprised...we all knew that was coming. It's like everyone knows he's horrible except Yuni, RR & DM...even 'rillo and BA are picking on him.
  9. Rosenthal now saying next year buyout to $4mm from $3.5mm and it's now a "mutual option". Not sure what this means for draft pick comp when he goes FA.
  10. First Chicago starts signing our pitching rejects then a New York team sends us an all-star reliever they are trying to dump...the only move left is for the Dodgers to send us Furcal for a bag of balls to complete the Big Market trifecta.
  11. If 3-4-5 are coming up in the 8th, I'd rather have them use Axford anyway...give K-Rod the save opp in the 9th. Make him feel better and use the better reliever in the higher leverage situation. I wish I had faith that RRR would think like that. It will probably be...well, K-Rod had 2 saves against the Cubs, but Ax only had one so K-Rod must be better. I'll use him in the 9th.
  12. Just guessing, but the deal was probably that we wont off him Arby if he waives the option. Thats what makes the most sense to me. Edit: Wasn't that part of the contract with Saito, that we wont/cant offer him arby at the end of the year? That's my guess as well.
  13. Is it clear that we can offer him arbitration? Not sure they are allowed to pre-arrange that.
  14. That would be so RRR-esque to use up a "Game finished" down 9!
  15. Brewers-esque baserunning by the Rocks...must be as bored as we are.
  16. Probably would have if Yuni hadn't have gotten that hit...even when he does something good he screws up.
  17. I read that K-Rod can waive the $17.5mm option and since the Brewers have no intention of exercising it, would he strike an agreement with the Brewers to waive the clause in exchange for not offering him arby? The Brewers may take it since it removes any doubt about the clause and they can use him as they see fit. K-Rod's price may go up next year as he's unencumbered by the draft choices and he could also get more save opportunities to prove his worth. Just curious.
  18. Bumping Marcum back one day would give him an extra day of rest and still keep Wolf & Narveson separated. It's only one day, but might be a good idea given the hip.
  19. Fangraphs weighs in on options for SS & the giant sucking sound that is Yuni... http://www.fangraphs.com/...rewer-shortstop-problem/
  20. Sets it up for Prince to win it solo.
  21. No doubt...same with Gomez...the complaints on those two have been more around how they were used. Now that things have changed for Loe like they have for "Gomey", he can be real valuable and not abused.
