  1. Casey had plenty of time to look Phillips back there. Another reason the Reds seem to have our number...they make those plays that we don't at the margin.
  2. Nice win over a guy we usually struggle against. Wolf is really rolling...the starting pitching has really been terrific. Bring on the Redlegs!!!
  3. More silly baseball logic. So Loe and Axford get warmed up and it depends on if we score for who comes in. Why get a guy warmed up if he isn't coming in? Seems like a waste, especially for Loe who has pitched a lot lately.
  4. Looks like we'll get the Ax on bobble head day after that. Great streak Wolf man...20 1/3 scoreless.
  5. I agree with this. Having Boras as your agent is a signal that the man values getting paid...he's earned it and I can't fault him. We probably tried shopping him and got no legit offers, so let's all enjoy Prince this year and hope he helps take us to the promise land. In the meantime, I have to give credit to both the Brewers and Prince for saying all the right things and the effort they are both putting into the club this year. Neither have allowed his eventual move to be a distraction despite the efforts of the national media. It's funny how they keep trying to make it a big story, when in Milwaukee it's just viewed as a fait accompli.
  6. The time value of money aspect of the deferral shaves apx. $4-5 million off the deal at current interest rates discounted back to the beginning of the extension. That value could change depending on inflation, rates, etc. during that period, but it's a decent estimate at this point.
  7. Hats off to Gomez tonight...2 BB, 2 hits...even the out was to right. Not bad.
  8. Wow...amazing there is a team with a worse D than the Brewers. It's not even close.
  9. At least Yuni didn't get an error there...wouldn't want to upset the Brewers propaganda department. My goodness that guy has no range.
  10. Narveson vs. Lee in Philly? I haven't seen such a hopeless situation since that one time we sent Randy Wolf out there against Roy Halladay in Philly.
  11. Per twitter... http://twitter.com/Brewercom RHP Mike McClendon was recalled from @nashvillesounds today, RHP Shaun Marcum, placed on bereavement list (father's heart surgery) #Brewers Thoughts & prayers to Shaun Marcum on this...hope all goes well. From a baseball standpoint, it could give us an extra arm and I would imagine Marcum could possibly return for his next start on Sunday.
  12. Per Latroy Hawkins twitter feed...he's on his way to Philly to join team.
  13. Nats may have to call up WH Harrison, Pierce, Harding & Hoover for game 2.
