  1. Hilarious point Prince. We probably have two pitchers in Gallardo and Hoffman more deserving than Lilly too...yet only a 2 1/2 game lead. I know the Hall posse will be out today, but McGehee & Counsell both have knees hurting and will need some days off. A LHP is the best spot for a fill in for Counsell.
  2. They will need a pitcher before Saturday. Maybe Gamel goes down and then another pitcher goes down after the break. Given their options for starters, they may need an extra arm for a bit especially if it's Parra. Then bring Hurricane up. Gamel could really help us down the stretch after a month on Nashville.
  3. Typical Cubs fan steals ball from some kids to give to some girl he's trying to score with.
  4. Gameday begs to differ on the ball to Hart. It was close, but it was nowhere near as close as the one to Fox.
  5. Agree, agree, agree. Randolph had more fire than Macha. He needs to get a stink going there or call him out in the presser. Something Macha, show your team something. That was an obvious strikeout and the ump flat out blew it. Soup was the only guy to stick up for his team today by hitting Lee.
  6. Unbelievable. What a horrendous call. Just a fitting end to a crappy day.
  7. Rough game for Counsell. Missed bunt and should've made that somewhat difficult play.
  8. I can't fault Fisher there. It took perfect execution to get him.
  9. Counsell really cost is there. These close ones come down to one or two plays, hope that's not the one.
  10. Let's face it, there are no slam dunk spots in the lineup outside of 3,4 and 9. I'm not a huge fan of Kendall first, but there aren't any perfect of options. If he can milk the count maybe we get into that soft bullpen earlier. Didn't anticipate the wind blowing in helping them more than us so far.
  11. Brewers Classics showing up on DirecTV for once...what a treat. Even tough I know the result, I still have no confidence in Turnbow finishing this.
  12. I always thought we gave up Gross too easily. He struggled out of the box last year and they seem to give up on him quick. For a team desperate for a LH bat, he was more than adequate. Theoretically Gerut should be the same player, maybe a little more flexible on D. Kapler I get, he made more money and got more playing time than he was going to get here.
  13. McGehee looked like he was pressing a little last night. Hopefully he's got the first trip back to Wrigley jitters out. That was Cam's best game in over a month for sure. He's streaky, it'd be great to get him going. Let's hope we get a Z meltdown and a gatorade machine take out today.
  14. Let's at least get into their pen. We may lose the battle, but it's only game one.
  15. Since this has turned into a mini-vent thread, I'll throw Parra under the bus. If he wasn't such a headcase we wouldn't be in this starting pitching mess. He has turned into my least favorite Brewer.
  16. The ump really was squeezing him. Smith needs to chew up innings, no matter how many runs he gives up.
  17. No Gallardo or Bush, their top 4 starters, an inconsistent lineup...just don't get swept and we'll be ok. We just need some plate discipline to get into that crummy bullpen early. After Wednesday's performance I'm not optimistic. With the schedule we have coming up if we are within 2 games of first at the All-Star break, I like our chances.
