  1. Soup, Bush, Hoff, Eddie Morlan, Lindsay Gulin, Nick Green, Todd Coffey and Jorge Julio. (from brewers.com) are scheduled to toss today.
  2. Ok I was getting too excited to wait for a thread to go up. You can delete this if you like. Spring Training is here! (no need to delete, but I edited the title to match the new IGT title format we're aiming for this year - hawing)
  3. twobrewers, I couldn't agree more. So many times that phrase "leader" is tossed around with no regard. In this case, it is not. He is a great leader out there. He provides cover and education for Braun who is still coming in to his owin in LF. He provides profesionalism and fun in the clubhouse. I mean, come on, he's responsible for the un tuck em thing, what more can you ask for! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If we let him go to FA he's gone, garaunteed. I'm glad we have him for another year and there isn't too much else out there that would give us what he offers.
  4. Just want to throw something different out there. What do you think of Hardy in the leadoff? Hardy Hart Braun Prince Cam Weeks Hall Kendall When it comes down to it I'm really for our traditional lineup but this would be a nice change up from that.
  5. Anyone know if they will do thi again anytime soon?
  6. I just want them to be able to speak with out screwing up all the time! Makes me feel uncomfortable. (edit: over-punctuated --1992)
  7. I'm a big fan of it but it makes me nervous that a star will get hurt in it. This is the best time to have it because a mid season would be scary for teams and at the end of the season everyone wants to rest. I just wish there was a way to have all the best players playing at their peek levels. That would be great!
  8. ya anyone have this recorded or able to post a clip?
  9. I thought my buddy was joking when he sent me a text saying this. I like the move and could be a good 7th inning guy. I too agree that he seems like a good guy and really wanted him to succeed last year. Boy does he make me nervous when the game is on the line though.
  10. Guys got a good voice. I'm ready to give him a chance. Lets not judge him until we hear him work.
  11. I'm thinking of ordering MLB Extra Innings this year for Directv because I will be in the Minneapolis area instead of in Wisconsin. Anyone who has purchased this please let me know what you liked and disliked. Also anyone who has had the MLB TV on the interenet, I'd like to hear about that. I have a nice HD TV so thought my best option would be getting it on Directv and I've enjoyed the NFL ticket for the last few years (eventhough it's spendy). I'd love to hear from anyone out there who has experience with these two options.
  12. My only worry is that when we are in the middle of a losing streak and and things are tough, who is going to step up and stop the skid. I hope that Yo or Manny can get that done. That's the why you need aces, to get you wins when you need them most. Question is, do we have that guy?
  13. My only issue is that it's a lot of pressure on young pitchers to be our 1 and 2. That being said we'll see what they are made of. If you want to be a 1 or a 2 you have to act like one and embrace it. I just hope it's not too early. But with vets all around them I feel confident they can step in those roles. It's time for the O to step up and support these guys. I'm excited for this season now that it seems all the main pieces are in place!
  14. Does anyone know if Soup and Loop have a good relationship? Is that part of the reason Looper is coming here? Just curioius.
  15. Counsell is what he is. He's a vet that will play hard and can play multiple positions. I like him because he doesn't screw up. He's not going to blow you away but he gives you versatility. That's what we want in a back up role.
  16. The Parra thing was exactly that, just two guys getting pissed off and it unfortunatley happened where everyone could see it. That was not a big deal. Also, I think his weight is way over blown. He's a big guy! He's always going to be big. As for his contract negotioations I think he gets an even worse rap because Boras is his agent. Nobody likes him and therefore I think some people then start to hate Prince because of Boras. You guys are right, he's not doing anything bad by the way he is going about his negotiations and also right that he should not have complained when he turned down the contract. I too would not have taken that long term deal and probably would have been fired up a bit just looking around and seeing guys making a lot more money than me eventhough I am on of the best on the team. I think he probably was pissed at the system/his agents advice and not as much at the brewers. However he could only take his anger out on the Brewers. Well I'm gald to hear that most people are behind him and I too say look out this year for Prince! I hope he has a great season and we get to see the old Prince who's laughing and having a good time, leading the team, hustling, and mashing homeruns off the third deck!
  17. Ok so I was listening to the local sports talk radio station in Milwaukee today (sorry, I'm not sure which one, I'm not from here but was in town for work). They were talking about how Prince was viewed by the public. I was a little upset about some of the things they were saying. One of the things they were saying was that he was never liked from the get go like Ryan Braun was. I for one have to say that is false. I think he was loved right away, even when he was in the minors. Then they started to come up with reasons why he was unliked. I think that last year when he came out saying he was not happy with his contract that people started to turn on him. I believe that people started to get turned off by his comments. I also think with Braun jumping on the scene and becoming another hero to cheer for that many people jumped off the Prince band wagon. I also think that Prince appeared to be angry last year. He really didn't seem like the old Prince until the end of the season. Anyway, the reason for this post is to see what the general feeling is towards Prince. I think he is still the leader in the clubhouse. I still am a big fan and hope that this new contract allows him to be happy and play loose. I hope that most of you are still cheering for this star in Milwaukee, even though he may only be here for a few more years. Enjoy it while it lasts!
  18. I'm just wondering what the general concensious is on what the new managers will bring to the table. I'm excited to have two managers on the bench with Macha and Randolph. I think that could end up being a nice combination. I'm curious how Castro will be as the pitching coach now. What are your thoughts?
  19. Do you think weeks improving could be the most vital to the crews success in 09? If we don't get another starter in I think we need Yo to have the biggest leap but besides him an improvement from Weeks is huge! Your thoughts?
  20. Please stay! I too agree that Ueck will slowly scale back and if we didn't have Jim as the guy that would be taking over it would be horrible. There is nothing better than listening to a game done by these two. They are great!
  21. To everyone out there saying that he takes too many pitches, I think you are half right. As a leadoff (who is not a base hit guy) he does need to take a lot of pitches. However I too agree he does take too many and then gets in deffensive mode which then hurts his power. I think he needs to be a little more aggressive in begening of the at bat but not taking hacks. I feel like when he's not in the leadoff he isn't as mentally strong up there. I'm not sure where I want to see him next year but I do think we should give him another year and see if he can improve a little more. If he continues to improve thats good. I know we thought he'd be a super star but oh well, I'll take average to above average.
  22. Yo 205, Ditka 0...... Oh, my bad. I see him right in that same range but think 18 is high. I hope they are right though! I'm looking froward to watching this kid work for a whole year.
  23. Awesome, I havent heard anyone call it the world wide web since 1994. Glad you enjoyed! Ha. I just replied on AOL 95....errreeeeeeeyyyyyyyrrrrrrrrrrr (dial up sound)
  24. Is this interview on the world wide web anywhere?
  25. So I'm curious what everyone's take is on weeks for next year. Do you think he should be starting? Where should he be in our lineup this year?
