That's just because you have no taste! That was a good one! Do they still have dollar slice day or all you can eat slices? Those were the days! In college we would go there and eat way too much, then bring home 4 slices or so a piece. Had to lose so much money on that.
  2. The way I've always looked at it is he got caught cheating. He then doubled down trying to save his reputation and got called out on that. When he got Rodgers involved to vouch for him, and then the truth came out, that was ugly. I'm sure that burnt that bridge. I've said this on here many times, I almost feel bad for Braun in the end. He did it to himself, but he seemed to come out of all this almost broken. Maybe it was a shot of humility that he needed. He just never seemed like the same person. I also don't think he needed to use PEDs, he was a great hitter. I know he was probably playing with more energy, staying healthy, and getting the mental boost that comes along with the confidence. I'll look back on his time here and remember many of the good times, but again, will always feel bad for him. He would have been celebrated as one of the all time Brewers, but now it will never be the same.
  3. It's not the juicing that's the problem. I'm sure a lot of players use PED's and never get caught and we will never think less of them. And a lot of players get caught and take their punishment and move on. The problem is the lying and pointing the finger of blame at an innocent man. Huge difference. I can't think of another guilty PED user not named Lance Armstrong who went to greater lengths to deceive the public into thinking he was clean and vilify the people who supported a contrary view. For the most part I had let it go. I actually never have booed Braun. I've also never cheered him. But when I hear people say he "deserves" a Miller Park send off I see red. The man is no hero. Ignorant to the fact Braun was backed in to this corner when ESPN guy leaked what was supposed to remain behind closed doors that he was voted innocent in Arb process due to the story Braun now had to tell. To this day nobody but MLB and Braun would know of his test that popped positive. You're basically saying the hate you have for Braun is him telling the truth of why his test popped positive and he was found not guilty by MLB arbitrators. I don't blame him for his actions when he was betrayed by a media snitch disobeying MLB rules. Can you tell me another time you have heard of a player who was innocent to a popped PED? No? Maybe because they all remained behind closed doors, as Braun,s should have. Can you expand on this more? I don't know if I fully know this story, or I'm just not remembering.
  4. I do think this year will cause teams to be creative. I think this is a strength of both the Brewers and Counsel. Stearns has continued to build flexible rosters and Counsel seems to have a creative mind, and really gets the most out of his team. I think this gives us an advantage over many teams in a 162 game season. I'm excited to see how this all plays out.

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!! I love Jets! Your review is exactly how I describe it to people. When we moved to Cincinnati, we could not find a good local pizza place. We stumbled on Jets and fell in love with the 8 corner pizza. It's so good. There is one near us now in Minneapolis but we aren't in the delivery zone, so we don't get it as much as I'd like to. Dang it, I may have to order it this week now that you have me thinking about it.
  6. So sorry to hear that Hawing. I hope each day gets a little better. So hard losing a pet.
  7. I agree, they are starting to gel. I went in to this season telling myself not to freak out if they start out slow. I was thinking once they get to mid season they will need to start playing better ball. My hope is they will look really good down the 2nd half stretch.
  8. Zurch1818 glad that you were able to get through the difficult situation. I hope the friendship can still be there. Remember, you did everything you could to make it as positive of an experience as you could. Glad they are doing all of that to help bridge the gap too. It's crazy how much good advice you can get on a Brewer's site. I can't tell you how many random things I've asked for advice on at BF Net.
  9. Pretty sure Stearns was asked about Cain last week in his presser about Wong, and confirmed that he will be back for this season. Cool, thanks! I had a moment of worry thinking, he still might not be 100% in for this season. I guess nobody is 100%, but you know what I'm saying.
  10. Random question but has Lo Cain actually committed to this season? I was thinking about it last night and I guess just assumed because of all the talk about having him back, that he was playing, but don't remember actually hearing anything.
  11. Congrats OWBC! Exciting times. Hope everyone is doing well and you are getting a little rest.
  12. OWBC - That's exactly what I was thinking, take a risk and try to put out a streaming product for a year. Be ahead of the curve and maybe it could be a huge win. I'm not sure how many people they'd lose with streaming only. You don't want to completely alienate your older fan base that may be less likely to change to that type of format. That could be the tricky part.
  13. I think you try Hiura at first. I really don't think a couple inches will matter that much if his glove is good. If his glove is bad at first, then it could be a mess. Maybe he has a good wing span which would give more range for a target????? HA! I would be hesitant to trade him off of a bad year unless you feel like you're getting close to full value. Worth an experiment.
  14. Because Cramer was a hedge fund manager 20 years ago? Data is much more available and transparent now, and regulations were passed after the late 2000's financial crisis that increased government oversight and eliminated some regulatory gaps of hedge funds. The definition of "hedge fund" and how it got it's name is because they hedge their bets to create less volatility in expected returns compared to other retail funds with high exposure to the market. They make more extensive use of leverage and derivatives, riskier bets, but hedge those bets to reduce volatility. What I linked to was what is being said by others about Citron, not me. People go on CNBC, talk to reporters, or go on social media all the time about the companies they are buying or shorting. It's to get the hype going to help them out. Just watch CNBC for a few days. There is more regulation on what you can and can't do, but it's still happening all the time. As for hedge funds definition, that is partially accurate but hedge funds have taken on many more forms now. Some hedge their bets like you mentioned but some don't. Essentially hedge funds are for investors wanting to hedge against their other investments because the fund hopes to make money in any market condition. Some can all be long, some all short, and some in between. They can essentially do whatever they want (within the regulations) and take on more risk because investors are wealthier and are made aware of the risky nature.
  15. The hedge funds aren't asking others to short the stock as well to drive up their profits; they don't announce anything. They're doing it independently. Their trades may be publicly available information, but they aren't promoting them. They do promote their trades many times. They will short a stock, go on tv and tell whoever that the company is not a good investment and that's why they sold or are shorting it. It is also public information. That's all fine, the reason this got out of hand is because the shorts were beyond 100% of the outstanding shares. That was a signaling that people were going have to do a lot of buying in order to satisfy all the shorts.
  16. Does MLB have a contract or deal with the regional sports channels when it comes to blackouts? I'm assuming that's why they are still blacking people out. Do we know if there is an end date to that, or are they simply just doing the blackout? You'd think they could come to some agreement, maybe increase the cost to watch in market games and split that with Regionals, if needed. I don't know, seems messy and behind the times and really wish they'd figure it out. They came up with such a great product and I've been subscribing for many years. Now they are falling behind the times when they could get back out in front of this. Does NBA blackout local?
  17. Fun game to watch last night, but I think the Nets will be tough to handle. We will see how things play out. Maybe adding Irvin to the mix will screw things up?? I agree on the complete player thing for Giannis. For the last year or so, I've thought if he could just learn a pull up jumper from about 5-10 feet out, he'd be pretty unstoppable. Most of the time they are bracing for him to attack the rim. I'm not sure he would be able to develop the touch for that. My other thought was just learning to play with his back to the basket. I know this type of game isn't as popular, but to me, I think he could create more shots that way. Those were my two thoughts on how he could counter teams from walling him off on his drives.
  18. The more I think about this matchup, the more I hate it. Brady has so much experience in these games and just finds a way to win. I also am still having nightmares of the first matchup and how that went sideways in a hurry. TB has so many weapons on offense, even if we get a lead, I won't feel good. Man I hope we can win this game and get to the Super Bowl!
  19. What a documentary! I used to watch this, at least the first 4 or 5 tapes, each year right before the baseball season started. I haven't done that in probably 15 years but I just said to my wife this week, that we should watch it this March. I can't wait to dive back in. Pitch league - those old tapes might be more fun to watch than in HD! Giving it that old feel, bringing you back to your youth.
  20. I definitely did see two times where he ran over his blocker. The one he may not have had a choice. The other was on the end of the line and I feel he could have side stepped. Both times I remember thinking, man I bet that O Linemen was like "what the heck man."
  21. Man did Dillon impress me last night. I found myself on short yardage plays and down the stretch saying, just give it to Dillon! He showed some awesome power today and some good cutting too. He could be a serious weapon down the stretch, especially in the cold weather at Lambeau.
  22. I've always laughed when they argued to go from 2 to 4 teams, and how that would solve everything. I knew the same arguments would happen when they got to 4 and that people would immediately be calling for an 8 team tournament. No matter how many teams you have, there will always be people calling it unfair, and demanding expansion. I guess the question really is, what is the ideal amount of teams for a fun tournament. My gut reaction is 4, to make the regular season count as much as possible, but I do agree 8 might make the most sense with automatic bids from the power 5. Either way, people will complain and that's part of the fun.
  23. I'm not playing in any what ifs at this point. I'm just going to celebrate this signing and hope it leads to a NBA tile in Milwaukee. So pumped!
  24. What would the logistics be if they just went to MLB app with no blackout restrictions? Wouldn't that be the best for everyone? Or would they have to raise the prices to make it profitable enough for the teams? I love MLB tv but it's worked because I've been out of market. I really dislike how much the regional channels have been causing issues with so many services. Like many of you, I lost mine in MN this fall. Doesn't bother me too much right now, but I do like to watch the occasional T-Wolves or Twins game. Hoping they get it worked out again, but it won't kill me not to have it. If I lived in WI, I'd be having major issues!
  25. Ugly game and had a strong suspicion it would be that way. NW defense is tough and doesn't make too many mistakes. Bringing zero explosiveness to the skilled positions played right in to their type of football. I wasn't expecting a bunch of turnovers, and thought it would be a close tough game. That killed us. I do agree, a lack of reps was tough on them. There are going to be some ups and downs with Mertz while he's young, but even in the bad games you can see how talented he is. I think he'll learn from this and it will help him to work harder.
