  4. I came here to post this. I'm very foggy on details but I remember an interview with Ben Sheets talking about how great of a hit he had, opposite field blooper. It was so hilarious. All the details he went in to. If anyone can find it, that would be great! Number two on my list is the Woody home run in the playoffs vs the Dodgers, as many others posted. What a huge hit!
  5. Sure was a wild game last night. I wasn't locked in on it, but was watching here and there. On a side note, these embedded tweets, especially the videos like this, are fantastic!
  6. Well I'm sad this season came to an end last night. I was hoping they'd make it to the second weekend. This team was really fun to watch all season. Took our boys to their first Badger game this year and my wife and I went to another one. Seemed like we were more invested in this team than we have been in several years. So it hurts even more to see the season come to an end. I think Davis is gone and I'll really miss watching him play for the Badgers. I personally will miss Davison. He came in and quickly got a bad reputation, and partially deserved. But I think he saw that those cheap things weren't ok, and I think for the most part stopped doing it the last two years. The problem is, the kid hustles and gives it his all every game, so when he goes diving for a ball and runs in to another player, most people think it's another cheap shot. I didn't see that from him anymore. He gave so much to this program, and that's what I'll remember him for. I love Wahl. He's been my favorite player to watch the last couple years. He does all the little things and really has developed in to a legit scorer. Chucky has settled in to being a heck of a pg. Hopefully he can take another step forward with his scoring next year. I think he will. Ben Carlson. I've got high hopes for him. I have a friend that is a coach in Woodbury who knows one of his high school coaches well. He said Ben is a great kid and one of the hardest workers he has ever been around. I think he's tough out on the floor and I think he's going to be a key to our team next year. He needs to build confidence at this level. Do we have any shooters on the bench, or coming in next year? Really could use someone to knock down threes in the clutch. Good season Badgers!
  7. While I don't like Iowa, going in to the Big Ten Tournament, I thought they were the team to beat. Hot at the right time. I don't know if that carries in to the tournament but they are playing well and I could see them in the final four.
  8. I saw in an email for my MLB.tv subscription that some team's pre and post game shows will available on the service. Does anyone have any other information on that? I currently switch over to the Bally's app - using my parents login when I want to watch those. It would be nice to have it all on the MLB app.
  9. Boxberger is back on a one year deal! https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33495858/reliever-brad-boxberger-agrees-1-year-deal-milwaukee-brewers
  10. Versatile piece at a discount, sounds like that's our guy! I wasn't expecting much for signings when it came to this offseason so I can't say I'm disappointed. I'm definitely not excited but I won't complain at this point. Is he a good clubhouse guy too?
  11. You bet. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
  12. Ok, this made me laugh so hard. I literally had to blink my eyes and make sure I was reading the thread title correctly when I clicked back on it today. MLB Hot Tub - Tremendous. It is a great skit and now I will be singing it all day again. May have to be the new annual thread name instead of Hot Stove.
  13. I've been a recruiter for 11 years now so I have a lot of experience with negotiating. I think it get's harder to counter after your initial counter, but it can be done. Let me ask you this, if they come back low are you ok with walking away? I think the strongest move you can make is respectfully saying something like "I want the job and I think I'd be a great fit with your company and team. If you can meet me at $____ I'd accept today and give my notice. If you can't go any higher, I understand. Financially it doesn't make sense for me at this amount, so I unfortunately would have to decline." Of course they still may walk away, but if it's close they may come back with the offer you want. I think you need to have the lowest number in your head that you're ok with. Make sure it's a number that won't leave you resentful down the road because you don't want to be in that type of position. In my opinion companies get to the point of "forget this guy" when a candidate is waffling or passively asking for more multiple times (for money or vacation, etc). I think if you're strong they will respect it and hopefully come up to what you are asking for. Again, please know that with this type of move you may lose the job. Having a job you know you'd love is worth a lot. So again, figure out what your low dollar amount is that still leaves you happy with the decision. If they can't meet that, I'd use a counter like I mentioned.
  14. MLB Network needs to just go to a live news cast 24 hours a day for the next few weeks! When I saw this thread I started singing the Eddie Murphy James Brown Hot Tub song! Too hot in the hot tub!
  15. Let's gooooooo! I was trying not to even think about when the season would start because I didn't want to be disappointed. So great to be able to look forward to baseball.
  16. I watched the highlights of the game. Furman did a decent job of walling the dribbler but that contested launch was just perfectly nailed. March Madness has officially started!!! What a finish.
  17. Maybe this has already been addressed but every time I hear more about a pitch clock, I think to myself, half the problem is the batter walking around after each pitch and adjusting their batting gloves. Has that been addressed in the whole pitch clock thing? Should almost let the pitcher throw their next pitch when ever they are ready and the batter needs to adjust to them. Would be wild watching Suter in that type of scenario.
  18. Yes Kalle, much love to you and your good friend. What a great post!
  19. Heck of a win last night. Davis had some really pretty shots in the clutch, only touching the bottom of the net. I agree, they are going to have to hit 3's in the tournament to make a run. They will be tough to deal with for most teams, especially if Davis can put the team on his back when needed.
  20. Kind of the way I feel. His writing was pretty good, but he never really broke any news and he just became so crusty on twitter. Happy for him that he gets to retire. Even happier we have amazing writers like McCalvy and Sammon on the beat. Exactly how I felt about the guy. Never disliked him, but was never excited about anything he did. I had a feeling he was probably a little smug, especially if he was ever called out. I hope he has a good retirement and glad to hear may of the people around him thought he was a good guy.
  21. Wow, I had no idea a game was played inside Chicago stadium. I had to look it up. Read a cool article about it. Thanks for dropping that cool bit of history on here.
  22. The email they sent to subscribers specifically said they're preserving the $65 price. Plus they're honoring the $15 discount for everyone on their next bill even though the channels were only gone for a day and a half. No price increase, riggggggght. Not today, but wait a month or two. I don't want to bring bad vibes to this thread, but I'm under the assumption that once streaming services become the go to for a majority of people, they will become the cable companies. Rates will continue to go up and I'm assuming customer service will start to go down. My guess is it will be just like DTV. Started out doing everything possible for its customers until they were big enough that they didn't have to anymore. The only hope I have is that because there aren't installs and equipment needed for their services, along with no contracts, they may keep prices somewhat lower than cable/dish, and customer service will still be key. Consolidation of services will be the biggest issue for customers as time goes on. That gives them too much power and the ability to do whatever they please. For the record, I love YTTV and their customer service has been amazing. I hope they continue to see how much that is appreciated.
  23. Is this price hike from Disney to try and screw over YouTube, so they have to charge more? Which then will send more people over to Hulu Live TV? It seems to me that YouTube is kind of screwed on this one because of what Disney has control over. I have a feeling I’ll need to switch to Hulu but I don’t want to if that was their plan all along!
  24. Do you think us Packer fans might not be the best ones to judge a new young qb????? We only have two years of experience out of the last 30 or so.
  25. Here’s my take on Love after the game. I think there were throws that were obvious timing/miscommunication misses. That back shoulder to Adams was a great example. I thought back shoulder was the right throw, but Adams went deep. Either way, it’s a tough throw and something you perfect as you get more experience and time with the 1st team. Adams didn’t start practicing until Friday right? Love also had several throws that were just bad. One of which was on a role out and he tried to emulate Rodgers’ jump throw and just missed. Those are throws that need to be made, and maybe he can fix. My biggest concern, which goes back to the preseason, is when he’s in trouble, has pressure, or is trying to make something out of nothing, he throws the ball up for grabs. These are the throws he can not make! He had that one bad one rolling out and threw back to the middle of the field, should have been picked. I guess my take after this game is he was definitely jittery early. He calmed down a bit as time went on. I’m more worried about his future to be a #1 qb, but I’m not making my final assessment on him after one start. Nervous, but not giving up.
