  1. I also wouldn't put too much in to walks right now as a reliever. You tend to try to strike people out more when you are only in for an inning. As a starter you have to pitch to contact more often. I would look more at his history as a stater in the minors to get a feel for his K/BB numbers.
  2. I'm pretty bad at keeping up with the minors and who's currently doing what. Great to get all this info on our options. Thanks! Makes me feel better about potentially going with what we have and trying to keep this thing going. Won't get in to the trade debate on this thread. Just wanted a place where we could talk about what the team could/should look like without trades being involved.
  3. Let's say DS looks around and finds all the pitchers available are overpriced. What moves could the club make to try and help out the pitching staff?
  4. Fun game to watch and fun reading through the thread. That HR by Jesus was so clutch! Can't wait for tomorrow.
  5. Wow what an inning. Let's crush these guys. Let them think about it during the All Star break.
  6. Good points everyone. I think that's a good way of looking at it. Wait out the year and if he has value, they can always trade him after the season. I think my initial thought was worrying about him having a bad second half and then not having value. But like said, I don't think he'd fetch that much anyway so he's more valuable on the team.
  7. Yes this does feel more important than other games. I'm pretty pumped for this!!!
  8. I'm not writing anything off at this point. I still think we will come back down to earth.... but who knows. I just want to make sure we continue down the path that is best for the future. I guess I was just curious about Garza's value because I don't know how much you can trust him. If he had value is it best to get rid of him or keep him and hope he doesn't explode this year.
  9. Let's say we continue to lead the division and Garza continues to pitch well and has trade value...what do we do? Trade him or keep him for the stretch run? I'd still be of the opinion we have to continue to do what's best for this team long term. Do teams that are winning divisions ever trade a starting pitcher near the deadline?
  10. This team makes me smile. I love where we are at. A great minor league system and a team that is out performing expectations. What a great position to be in!
  11. 10-15 I think they will have bad month or two this summer but rebound from it.
  12. I'm a little nervous about Wilson but if he can play D and run the floor, get a few rebounds, and run the floor, he might be a solid contributor. Good to see Bronson go to the Bucks. If nothing else, having him for their new D League team, could be a good move.
  13. The funny thing about my son's choice of Kashmir is I think it's partially influenced by the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (Again, he's 19 - born 16 years after the movie came out). Damone: "When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on Side One of Led Zeppelin IV." Then cut to Ratner in the car with his date playing Kashmir (which is actually from Physical Graffiti and not Led Zeppelin IV). Love Fast Times and love that quote. I always think of that scene when I Kashmir.
  14. It was fun watching and listening to Nelson's performance. I hope it helps him build some more momentum.
  15. BrewCrew02 - sorry for the late response. Been crazy. Ya, we are leaning that way too. Big yard, country feel, but still close to town. I'm glad you've heard good things about the school district. I've tried to do as much research as I can. I wish school was in so I could get a feel for the schools while they are in action. Oh well!
  16. It's crazy that we are still in first place. Every time I look at the standings, I get a huge smile on my face and shake my head. It can't last, but it sure is cool.
  17. Made it back to WI! Anyone have any hesitations with Hortonville/Greenville? I think we are leaning towards that because of a lot we found. Thanks again for all the information from before.
  18. "Oh thank you little root, please stay strong." - Black Sheep
  19. I think having the D League in Oshkosh will be pretty cool. I'm looking forward to seeing some games! Sorry to get off topic, but was just curious how the crowds are for the T-Rat's games are. We are moving to the valley here and that's at the top of the list for things to do. I was at a game back in the day but it was over 10 years ago.
  20. This is pretty impressive and pretty cool right now. I went in to the season without expectations for wins. All I had hoped for was to see a team that plays hard and gets better as the year goes on. I know there will be some skids in the future, but this has been really fun so far. Makes me happy.
  21. That was quite a show last night. Pretty crazy. I too thought....test him!
  22. I can second Canoe Bay. It's very much high end but they really do a great job of giving you a first class experience. Stout Island is a very special place as well. Near Birchwood WI. Not sure on costs but guessing it's higher end. http://www.stoutsislandlodge.com I'm also a big fan of Hayward. Rent a cabin and take in the views of a lake. Plenty of restaurants and activities around the area. You can tailor that trip to any budget, which is nice. I think there is a really nice spa type place in the Dells, but the name escapes me at this time. Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva. Unique place and a cool property. Not sure if you were out there at all when you did your 20th. Congrats on the 25 years!
  23. Disappointing loss last night. I don't expect them to keep winning at the rate they were, but this skid isn't fun!
