    When you barley make contact with a ball and the ball skids across the top of the bat like that, it burns the bat and makes it smell like burning wood. Kind of one of those cool smells you think about when you are a baseball player or played baseball. You will see several players do that.

    Hey guys we won this game. Seemed like a lot of negative talk from the posts I scanned. Oh well, I guess people are going to tend to write what they disagree with more than what they agree with. Let's be happy, we are on a winning streak and we have some really good starting pitching right now!

    Hope Marcum has a nice 7 inning performance. Love seeing the bulldog work!

    Well Loe talked himself in the game but I still think the dude needs a day off. Bad beat we took, but off day and right back at it!

    Why was Loe in the game? I know we are missing bullpen guys but they said numerious times that he was getting the day off!

    RRR seems to be a bit out there, but I would never take Macha over him. Hahaha. I'm still trying to feel him out.... This lineup.....hmmmmmm, not sure what to think about it but I guess rest is needed at times. I'd rather see Braun get a day off over Gomez.

    I do like Carlos even though he's a knuckle head. And I agree, his def is top notch. His mental ability is bottom notch but I still love to see him play. He makes extremely tough plays look routine and I don't think he gets enough credit for that.

    Ya great point, we're averaging -.02 runs a game over the last week so I agree, you have to do anything you can to get a run. NOTHING is working right now for this team.

    Blaming RR is a joke. You can disagree with the the decision to bunt but to blame him for NM getting injured is not cool.

    Ya I too was thinking/hoping around 500 and not too far off the lead at this point. I'm predicting that for this month as well and hopefully hit our stride going in to June. This is hairy.

    Yep I was always on his bandwagon. My friends still bring it up when he does something sweet! haha. Guy works hard, plays hard, and doesn't say much (which is probably good!) I love everything he brings to the table. I should probably say this, I tend to be loyal to 85% of our guys, especially the ones that we draft and bring up through the system. But weeks has always been a huge favorite.

    I think Prince is loved here but I also do think there is a natural speration a fan starts to have when he knows the player may leave. I do it. I love Prince but I notice myself not gushing over him as much so that when he leaves I can pretend we'll be ok. Some people might be a little quick to criticize him with the attitude that if he doesn't want to be hear then we don't want him (that sounds way too harsh but you get what I'm saying). So ya, I really don't think there is much of a double standard but I guess some people may be distancing themselves from him a bit. As for Prince doing dumb stuff, Braun has too (pimping homeruns, giving looks, saying things to the press, etc) but they are all really small things. I have no problems with how either of them have handled themselves. Hope we can find a way to keep Prince and be able to sign pitching but just not sure it's in the cards. I think most of us will appreciate the little time we may have left with Prince but I think we also sometimes try to trick ourselves about how fun he's been to have on our team.

    I'm starting a thread to give YB a little love, that's all. Thought I'd bring some positive vibes to him because he seems to get bashed more than anyone I've seen in a long time. So say it loud and say it proud if you are down YB! Stay Hot Kid!

    Having Punto as a backup backup is one thing, I'd be cool with that. But if you actually think you would want him in there at SS on a regular basis you are kidding yourself. Yes he's a switch hitter but that means nothing because he's terrible from both sides. We'd be scratching our eyes out right now if we were going with him and counsell!

    Is Yuni not getting the job done right now? I don't get it. Every time he does something wrong people want his blood (lots of people have noticed this). I know he's not a stud but his offense has been better than expected (he even seems to be more patient at the plate then most thought he would be) and his defense has been good enough. We can't have all stars at every spot. And for the record, I'm one who loves defense over offense at SS. Our team is pretty stacked and we are going to have to have a few spots where we aren't the best. I'd say our CF offense is lacking (but he makes up for it on Def) and our SS is lacking, otherwise we are pretty good. Right now I'm ok with how YB has played because I know that he's not an all star. And those who want Counsell and people like Punto, their batting avg would be under .200. That's just not a serious option.

    Punto would be a horrible SS! My friends who are Twins fans could not stand him when he had to play more of a full time role. Trust me, you don't want him as your full time SS. Backup, I'd be cool with but he's not even close to a stater.

    Carne Estrada looks great! Sucks about Gomez but hey, at least he was on base....that's a positive right?

    Wow, Thank You Ryan! I honestly didn't think he'd be here for his whole career, I thought it was just player speak. Man, I can't believe it. I seriously am just really happy with him and the franchise! Good Stuff!
