    They seemed like they were pretty good and then that came out. I know it was a little aggressive but the kid is on a new team on opening day. Give him a break. I'd be pretty excited too.

    Wow the Rockies announcers were really laying in to Gomez. I know he flipped the bat but it was almost like they were lipping off to him. When he struck out "let's see you hop around now...sorry buddy." I think that is a little uncalled for and pretty unprofessional.

    Is that still the routine up there? When I was in the Cities in the early 90s I did the exact same thing. Good luck with that.Oh ya! The River Falls station actually comes in pretty good in the car but it's tough in the home. Had to get the gameday audio to make sure there were no issues. Love this free preview of extra innings! Glorious. Nice hit Casey! You da man.

    I really do hope Hart doesn't looked lost at the plate today! I'm nervous for Gomez, he's gonna have to have a huge game to live up these expectations after day one http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I predict he will do well with hard throwers and struggle with slower guys. We'll see what happens.

    Ya if we are going to play some small ball more often I like him bunting. Even if it is a sac bunt he's going to put heat on the defense to get him out. And he can try and bunt for a base hit as well and worst case scenario he moves him over. I just think those two at the top can cause some serious issues for teams. I do agree that it would be nice to have Weeks lower in the lineup but right now he's pretty darn good there. He seems so comfortable at the plate, I love it!

    Gomez will not have a good enough OBP to bat leadoff and he's probably the better bunter so having him bat 2nd is where he should be as of now. I'd love to see Weeks bat in another spot but he's pretty darn good there now. Love both of these guys and I hope Gomez can continue to improve.

    I couldn't agree more with all your comments my man. I live up in Mnpls and have been saying all winter, just give Gomez a chance, he's really fun to watch and many of you will really like him. Now he's going to do some dumb things too but he's firey and plays hard and that is always great to see! He's got a cannon too! I think people are just looking to jump all over Edmonds and it's kind of [expletive deleted by mod]. Hart would have looked like Rob Deer on Crack up there against Jimenez (sp). Edmonds had good at bats and whoever complained about him bobbling a ball is just looking to pile on. It didn't even effect anything and it just went right back in his hand. It's not like it was an error or even anything that should have been criticized. As for Macha, I think people are always way too quick to jump all over our manager. Maybe you don't like the lineup but the pinch hitting thing you can't criticize because Edmonds hit the ball on the screws and he was just unlucky. What else do you want from him in that position?     Rtoherb you are exactly right. It would be a dumb move. And it probably would have been dumb to do it too early because you aren't left with a righty for later in the game. Edmonds hit a hard line drive by the way, it was just right to the second basemen. You really can't complain. So simmer down ya'll.(cleaned up code --1992)

    In a JSonline article Hart talked about trying a bunch of different stances this spring trying to find something that works and makes him feel comfortable. More evidence to me that his mind has failed him. I understand that people tinker but when you are tinkering every day you are in trouble. He's looking for the magic answer and he's not going to find it. Didn't think I'd say it but Go Edmonds!

    As soon as I saw this whole "Hart got glasses so it will be a big help" thing start up it made me nervous. I feel like he is mentally weak at times and that this would become a crutch if he started to play poorly after "figuring out what was wrong" from last year. I fear he's always looking for things to change and I just don't think he's going to get back to what he used to do. Glasses aren't a magical cure and now that nothing is helping I feel like he's going to be even more mentally screwed. I'm pulling for him but I feel like he's derailed.

    Very relieved to read that article on JSonline today! I do feel a little bad for Soup because he's been a very good profesional and seems to be a good person but I just think it's gone. I'm pulling for Parra to be the 5th and step up! Congrats to Bush, he does deserve it and I'm glad that he made it!

    Well put. I'm totally in this boat! I think Soup and Narv go to the pen and can be there for the what if. I guess either way whoever they pick to be the "starting five" is not a big deal as long as they are man enough to admidt a mistake early if things aren't working out. I know every game counts but giving a guy a chance for 2-3 starts won't make or break the season. JohnBriggs12 - How did you come up with the Rick Peterson thing? Do you have anything to back that up or just throwing it out there? You are making a lot of assumptions about Peterson that come across as very critical and if it's all based on guessing I don't think it's fair. Now there is a chance he thinks he can fix him but I doubt he has that much pull. I think if anything it's coming from higher up because of the money issue attached with Soup.

    Not sure how many of you caught the game on MLB Network but it was on. Yo just looks good right now. Can't wait to watch him this season! Weeks looks so comfortable in the batter's box right now, could be scary if he stays healthy. I agree with the comments above that escobar is batting his way in to the 2 spot and I think that makes us a lot better. Now we can get McGehee in the 5 spot and then Gomez 8th, 9th (sounds like that's on hold). Good game by the Crew!

    McGehee looks the exact same way he did last year. I stated he doesn't look like an athlete but to say he cam in to camp out of shape is wrong. That's how he looks! It will be interesting to see how this all works out but Gamel just does not look like he can play 3rd base. Started off the spring season where he left off last year by taking one off his knee. I just really see him in another position. I do really want to see his bat in the lineup sooner then later though.
