  1. What a gross day. I too hate listening to Davey. He's so bad! He must be friends with someone up in the Brewers ranks or they are affraid to fire him. I do't know why else he'd be in there. I think Rickie Weeks could do better in the box than Davey. Seriously. Hoffman is so bad right now. We def need to stir things up sooner then later!
  2. Why would they keep a spot for Jeffress?
  3. Finally back in the states and excited for some brewers ball! Missed the last 10 days
  4. I'm a little sick when thinking what our record "could" be or "should" be but I'm fine with where we are at. Last few seasons we've started out on fire only to struggle down the stretch. I was hoping that we'd start out middle of the road this year and then start to click and play well mid season and take that momentum down the stretch. So if we continue to tweak some things I think we can play some good ball. Maybe my reasoning and hope is a little superstitious but let's hope that's how it works out.
  5. Sonnnnnnnnnnnn of a......! Anyone see it? Was it close? Bad/good base running?
  6. Get will Bob. My summer will not be the same! My friend said that Davey Nelson was the replacement.......please tell me that was a joke.
  7. Doesn't dead arm mean they can't get their fastball up in mph? He's throwing the same speed he has the last few years. Maybe he's not getting movement or not hitting his spots but I would not say dead arm. I agree, why is the media not asking about the lack of changeups. It all seems fishy that they are not talking about this.
  8. I think that still is dumb that it should be an error. Pretty much perfect throw, but I guess that's the way baseball scores it. They said Escobar is elite but will still have growing pains this year. He's a young guy and will make some mistakes. IMO both those errors were mental not anything to do with his glove or arm. He should have tagged the guy on the first one and the second one he rushed. Instead of picking it on the run he should have back handed that, planted and threw. I'm ok with him screwing up on stuff like this. We can't expect him to be perfect...yet.
  9. Ya Gomez got an error on that. Announcer said it right away and I was like what the heck is that? The cubs guys even said that is a tough error. Says he has a throwing error in the box score too!
  10. How the heck did they give gomez a throwing error on that play at home? He put it right on Zaun's glove? That is just dumb? That was a BB he threw too! I'm so sick of Soup! I'm sorry, I've bit my lip all year and tried to be positive but he just doesn't have it anymore. Even the Cubs announcers said "there will be a lot of talk about who should be in that 5th spot these coming days." Ya except between Melvin and Macha!!! Ok enough ranting, back to being a positive fan.
  11. He's hotter than lava!!
  12. I do feel bad for teams that are always at the bottom. Maybe because I know what it felt like for years. I like cheering for the underdog (unless we are playing them). I feel bad for their fan base as well. They do have a beautiful park and they have had some talent in there but they always get rid of it. Hard to be excited about that type of team. That being said they really fired me up last year so I'm glad we beat them down!
  13. I like the move and I know people say "what if he has to save the next three games?" Well worst case scenario we have someone come in for a save on that third day. I think he needed that and I'm glad he had a clean inning. As for his comments I have no idea but I would think that as a vet macha would listen to him. I'm sure they talked about it and agreed on what they did.
  14. I too have noticed that Gomez is causing errors with his speed. I think that def should be looked at. Now I don't know if there is a stat for that but he does cause issues out there. And yes, so fun to watch. I really hope he continues to grow with his plate discipline. I'm so excited about him right now but also know that tomorrow could be 0-5 with 3 k's! Should be a fun rollercoaster ride. And I totally agree w an earlier post, he's always hustling and having fun, got to love that http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Great series! Can't believe how hot some of our guys are right now. Braun is pure lava! Uecker was also amazing today. So many great one liners. My friens are always jealous when I tell them the lines I get to hear every day. Love him! Bring on the Cubs!!
  15. I agree about Gomez. Sounds like they are working their tails off to get him to take some pitches. It will be a long process and I hope he tries to absorb it and dosen't fight it. Problems is he might see some struggles. Hope he keeps his head up. I really like the rotation of our OF's right now and I like having Gerut there too. My hope is we can keep Edmonds fresh and still get Gomez enough starts to keep getting him work at the plate. I also would like to see him coming in late in games for D.
  16. I love seeing the good in Gomez! He got a walk and a nice hit! Of course he could have had another walk but decided to swing at balls but hey, progress. On a serious note, I don't know if any other guy besides maybe escobar scores on that little dribbler.
  17. I agree Invader. The way our pitching has been we should be dancing in the streets after this start!
  18. OK I was going to start a new thread but thought I'd throw this in here. Forgive me if this has already been discussed. Do you think Macha using Narveson all the time is a hinting towards him being the next starter to get a shot or him trying to keep him short for season long bullpen use? And then the opposite with Manny, him not being used much hinting at anything?
  19. Was listening to the game on the radio so I didn't see it but I'm very happy with this start by Bush. Gave up some hard hit balls but battled to keep guys from scoring. It was not dominate but it was a good start. Can't wait for today!
  20. Sheethead, I agree, I don't think it's out of bounds to talk about it but let's have fun with it. I don't like hearing people say he should hang it up. It just won't be the same with out him up there. Maybe as he get's older he could do less time or do some color work.
  21. On a side note too, it's easier to make good draft choices when you are terrible and have top picks http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif When you are better you get later picks and therefore aren't going to get the instant studs as often.
  22. Good point. I don't know who drafted who but it does seem like the farm system has continued to flurish. It was a bit weak for a year or two after we brought up all the young guys but it appears to be doing well again. I guess time will tell.
  23. Sheethead and Hammer I did hear that and I do listen to all the games on the radio because I'm out of market. I'll take the good with the bad every day.
