    Well to be fair Young won't even miss a start, a 5 day suspension to a pitcher just makes him push back his start 1 day. He did throw counter punches when he could have just avoided the situation completely. He still loses 5 days pay though.

    Zambrano was getting changed in the locker room and ran out when the fight started, thats why his belt was half off, don't see much of a reason why he would have been suspended. Apparently he changes his uniform every three innings for some whacked out reason.

    Reyes will get voted in, I think Renteria is a lock as a bench guy given who is doing the picking. That leaves Hardy, Rollins, Ramirez who all deserve a spot, someone is gonna get snubbed.

    There is only one 9 game winner and four 8 game winners in the NL so Sheets can keep pace with W's if the offense just backs him up. He is currently 17th in the NL in ERA but could reasonably move into the top 10 given a couple starts. He also has a better rep than a lot of guys ahead of him which does matter somewhat with pitching. I still think he has a shot at it.

    Cordero and Fielder with an outside chance that Sheets does. I highly doubt Hardy makes it.

    I would assume about the same. 11-8 expectation, 12-7 and I'm happy, 10-9 and I'm ok with it. If we play under .500 during that stretch I'll be disappointed.

    Studies have shown a very strong correlation between 25+ IP jumps in usage and injuries for a young starter. Its really more of a matter of pitch counts etc but IP is more readily available. Gallardo went 150ish IP last year so conventional wisdom says they should try to limit him to 175 IP this season and then he can throw 200 IP next year.

    He hasn't been bad this year, his K rate is over 6, his BB/9 under 3, he's getting a lot of ground balls. He's given up too many hits but its mostly just been a product of BABIP. He's not going to be a great RP, he's a 4 ERA guy out of the bullpen which means he shouldn't see any high leverage situations, unfortunately the Capuano injury kind of messed up the bullpen.

    lol, sorry about that. I'm at work and missed the 8th, didn't realize Spurling had already thrown an inning, heh. I don't think you can blame this loss on Yost, but I'm not sure I'd have used the bullpen the same way he did either.

    At first I said I'd have gone with Cordero too but he has pitched 3 of the past 4 days and averaged over 20 pitches per outing so I don't think its the end of the world not using him. I think I'd personally have gone with Turnbow for the 9th against the middle of the order, Spurling in the 10th against the bottom of the order and Cordero in the 11th against the top of the order assuming the game stayed tied.

    Well thats a downer, I'd have used Coco there i think since he warmed up and it the bottom of the Twins order is so weak.

    Baseball was so much less stressful when I had no expectations for the team. This is giving me a heart condition.
