I'm excited for the kid. Being a 1st round pick to then being an outcast ... there has to be a little doubt that sets in at some point. Hopefully this is the first step to something fun for him. Also, he should be able to save the bullpen a bunch of innings if and when the time comes. Brooks Kieschnick is wiping away tears right now... -

We say no pretty quickly I think. This feels like a deal just to make a deal as Durbin and Fitzgerald are redundant. Hall was the main piece of the Burnes deal and we are going to give him up after only 60 innings with us for an infielder who doesn't provide one of the two things we need (another left handed bat) and might not provide the other thing we need (power off the bench)? He would be an upgrade to Mona but it would be silly to lose a piece like DL Hall for a 25th man upgrade. We can upgrade Mona in 16 different ways and none of them cost us a major league arm. -

Except Collins hits right handed and Collins has a higher OPS on the season from the right side than Ward does. If Ward were to come here he would be a late inning pinch hit guy exclusively. He should never start over Collins and you aren't going to DH him over Yelich. The late inning RHB power option to hit for Durbin or Ortiz would be nice to have though.

Of course, but the original poster was saying we should trade Miz this off-season to maximize our return knowing he is going to get hurt someday in the future. So I was just offering the other side of the spectrum and requesting we meet somewhere in the middle.. -

He graduated from Hsinchu City Chengde High School last year and was studying at Kainan University. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners also reportedly made an offer to Lin, but he ended up signing with the Brewers. The Brewers have developed a reputation for developing pitching and will now get to work with Lin.

This is a random observation but for a guy that is always harped on for making soft contact and not being a power hitter.. in person, I don't know that another player swings harder than Sal Frelick.

Having Collins and Turang back to back in the lineup has got to be annoying as heck for pitchers. I feel like they take 10+ combined pitches between the two of them each time through.

Mlb pipeline had Rodriguez as the Brewers' #7 prospect and 10 weeks later fangraphs has him as the 31st prospect for the Red Sox? -
Collins is grading out as the best defensive LF in baseball right now to go along with a 117 OPS+ ... he is playing better baseball than Reynolds is and it isn't very close. Not saying Reynolds won't resurface ... but barring injury Collins is our LF the rest of the year. Perkins is the depth piece we need in the outfield.

This would be my decision as well. Knock on wood but wait for the next injury to someone for Perkins to make his season debut.

Reminder Collins was a minor league Rule 5 snipe by our scouting department years ago. Never stop digging for gems, no matter the avenue.

I agree 100% about Mona and Cameron ... Perkins is the curious one. Him being a question mark coming off of injury - you would have to think Collins keeps his spot over him until further notice. When Mitchell is back I would think Daz will be down.
