  1. I read somewhere that they are looking for either a SS or OF, and I wonder of a Pena, Gwynn deal would work? Even though I would have a tough time giving up Luis Pena. After looking at the box score last night for the Sounds, I saw that Nelson hit a HR and double, and Dillard and Pena both pitched well. I would have to think that they would be looking at some combination of Pena, Gwynn, Dillard, Nelson and Hernan. Two of those seems like it might be enough to get a deal done.
  2. Hi Pedro, I'm not sure if I contribute enough to the forum to be included, but I am addicted to Brewerfan.net. As usual, thank you for being so generous. Please count me in.
  3. I'll go w/ Jon Rauch for Cole Gillespie and Chad Robinson
  4. The A's have to be asking a lot for Street, I can't see us giving up that many more top prospects, although I guess I wouldn't mind since we would have him for 3 more seasons.
  5. I would think it would have be Dillon and I'm not sure I like that idea.
  6. We are looking for a lefty bat, and are rumored to be looking at Ray Durham. How about Kenny Lofton instead, he is fresh, wouldn't cost us any prospects, and is a proven winner. He could steal some AB's from Cameron against rightys, play both corners, and be a valuable pinch hitter/runner off the bench. Do you think he could accept this role?
  7. Wow, very generous of you lcbj68c, and also a very cool idea. My guess is 8 runs and 16 pitches.

  13. WSSP is reporting that the deal is actually 5 years 60 million, I think that is a lot closer to his real value. I think 5/72 is way more than what he has shown. Either way, I'm glad that Bogut will be a Buck for at least 5 more years, I think he will eventually be a an annual all star selection.
  14. A veteran like Durham would be a great addition to our team, if we could get him w/out giving up too much. I would like him to split some AB's w/ Weeks against tougher righties and as a pinch hitter/runner. I'm pretty sure at this point in his career he would be a perfect fit in that role. Its always good to add more playoff experience to a younger roster. What would it take to get him?
  15. I would love to get him for the right price, as I think he would be a great 8th inning option. IMO he would definitely be worth the one year 6 million option at the end of the year. He would be right up there w/ a Fuentes addition, but would probably cost a lot less. Since we are going for it this year, if it took Anundsen, Seidel and Ramlow I would still do it, especially knowing that he will most likely give us 2 high draft picks, and 1-2 good seasons of relief.
  16. I also asked permission from my inlaws, and I think they were happy that I did. It sounds like you get along w/ your inlaws, if this is true, I think you are in for a very happy night. If it were me I would ask them as soon as I could, to take the pressure off, and because they probably know what is going to happen anyway. Good luck, and hopefully congrats.
  17. I'll be in the terrace reserve.
  18. Why is everyone so sure that it would be impossible to resign either Sabathia or Sheets? If we make the playoffs I think there is a good chance we try to resign at least one of them. I think we are pretty much set at every other position besides pitcher.
  19. I'm so excited to see Sabathia pitch as a Brewer, he is such a huge pickup and definitely makes us a huge contender. Its almost unreal to me after all of these years as a Brewer fan to see us make a trade for one of the best pitchers in all of baseball in the prime of his career. I really hope he puts us over the top. I also think its absolutely crazy that there is no talk about it on Baseball tonight, I mean he did win the Cy Young award last year, is that not a big enough news story?
  20. I think the next 2 guys that are going to be traded are Charlie Villanueva and Mo Williams. I'd also like to see them get a guy like David Lee, but I'm not sure we match up that well with the Knicks. I also would love to see us get Elton Brand in a sign and trade deal, but I think that is very unrealistic. Some of the free agents I'm interested in are Eduardo Najera, Diop and Keyon Dooling, I think they would all be good high energy guys off the bench. I also wouldn't mind seeing us sign Jason Williams to split time at the point w/ Sessions if we trade Mo Williams. He was still an effective player last year, and could be had for cheap.
  21. I think Cameron meant that it was the worst hotel for autograph seekers. Also, I was very shy and didn't want to ask them for autographs either. My wife went up and got most of their autographs, and the only ones I asked for were Cameron and Weeks, and I will probably not ask for an autograph again. Camerons response made me feel pretty dumb.
  22. JayBird, I thought downtown Minneapolis was great, did you check out the Nicolet Mall area or the Warehouse District? I was very impressed w/ the night life at both, also on Sunday after the game there was a ton of live music, and other things going on. I also liked all of the pre game stuff that was going on outside the Metrodome, it felt like a fun festival atmosphere. Overall I was very impressed w/ the city.

  24. Well, some of the Brewers. My wife and I booked a room in Minneapolis, and went down to the lobby to get coffee on Sunday morning. Who's in line in front of us? Jeff Suppan and Billy Castro. Super nice guys---signed their autograph for us. Realizing the team was getting ready to leave, we hung around and got to meet Bob Uecker, Doug Melvin, Gord Ash, Prince (!!), Rickie Weeks, Mike Cameron, Sheets (who gave a wink and a salute) and some others. We maintained our composure, didn't act like stalkers, and asked a few others for their signature. Everyone was great except for Mike Cameron, who stated "This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in," in response to my request. The guy with him (who seemed like he worked for the Brewers) said, "You can't ask for autographs in the hotel." So we stopped asking, and just hung out to see who else might walk by. So, question: is that true? You can't ask for a player's signature in a hotel lobby? Are fans supposed to know this rule, and not take advantage of meeting players when they're walking right past you? I can understand that it must get annoying, but come on. Opinions? Also wanted to mention that Prince looked much smaller in person; we thought he would look a lot bigger than he actually was. He was also one of the friendliest along w/ Sheets and Suppan.
  25. The Websters definition of racism is: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. So what I'm trying to say is that IMO the point you are trying to make is racist even though you are white. There have been plenty of great American born caucasian basketball players; John Stockton, Chris Mullin, Larry Bird, Bill Walton, Jerry West, John Havlicek, Kevin Mchale to name a few. I think its ridiculous to say that someone is automatically better than someone else at anything because of race, and its sad that people still think this way.
