  1. I could see the Bucks using Damon Jones expiring contract in a deal for some bench help. There was an article in the js about the Bucks needing some scoring off the bench. I'm not sure who is available, but I would like to see a guy like Joe Smith or Damien Wilkins brought in.
  2. I think that the Brewers will probably look into it, I wouldn't give him too much because of the major surgery he had on his torn labrum, but I would give him an incentive type deal.
  3. Since he was Oakland's closer for two seasons under Ken Macha, I have to think that the Brewers will inquire about Hudson Street this offseason. I for one would love to acquire him, do you think he will be available, and if so at what price? He really came on strong at the end of last season, after really struggling a little before the trade deadline. I for one would love to have him as our closer. Another name to bring up, although a long shot, since he just had another surgery on his shoulder, is still owed around 27 million over the next 2 seasons, and has Milwaukee on his no trade list is Eric Chavez. He is a 31 year old 6 time gold glove winning, lefty hitting 3rd baseman, that has been injured a lot recently, but is supposed to be ready for spring training. Could he be a low risk high reward type player if the A's were willing to pick up part of his contract and/or take Hall or Suppan's contract? In this article it mentions the names Bill Hall and Rickie Weeks as trade possiblities for the A's, although it mentions a lot of players. Just a thought. http://www.contracostatim...ts/ci_10644199?source=rss
  4. But we have an option for Torres, Cameron and Counsell. Whats the situation on Lamb's contract? I thought I heard that since he signed long term w/ Minnesota then was released, we still own his rights, is that correct?
  5. According to this article, he was offered a 4 year deal for 17-18 million a year. I'm interested to see what the Brewers offer to both of them, is it going to be the route of Cordero where we are in the ballpark, or like Lee where we weren't even close? http://www.cleveland.com/...y_need_to_up_offer_t.html
  6. Now thats an interesting trade idea. Ellsbury, although his star has fallen a bit, would solve our leadoff and lefty hitter problem, while providing good defense in center. I think Buchholz will be a good #2 or 3 starter pretty soon, even though he struggled in the majors this season. Bard could be a setup guy or closer, his numbers this year were very good. On a different note, I would like to somehow get Mike Lowell from the Sox if they made this deal, we would have Mike Cameron available if we got Ellsbury.
  7. I think the Special Olympics is a very good place to volunteer, I know the are always looking for people to help out.
  8. I would say no to offering Gagne arbitration, I think he would probably accept, and then we would be on the hook for way over what hes worth.
  9. Whoops, maybe I should actually read the article, thanks for clarifying.
  10. It looks like Lue and Bell will get all of the minutes at the backup PG spot to start the season. So far the only guys used off the bench have been Gadz, Allen, Lue, Bell, and LRMAM. I wonder if Croshere will see any minutes after he get some practice time in? The craziest thing I have seen thus far is the fact that Dan Gadzuric has developed a jump shot, and looks a lot more confident on the offensive end. It might take some time for Alexander to be worked into the rotation, I think Skiles wants him to figure out the offense, as he basically stated during the preseason that he is lost out there. I think he will eventually play a decent size role off the bench.
  11. I wonder how much of it is speculation by TH, it seems to be that he is going off of mostly people saying they think Macha is the choice, and that he was Melvins first choice when they hired Yost. I want Macha, but I think it would be pretty funny to see somebody else chosen. Also, I thought it was funny that he said Mike Maddux has no ties to Milwaukee, I mean he's only been our pitching coach since the 03' season, isn't that considered a fairly strong tie?
  12. I don't really get it either, I don't know how it is even close to possible to judge how good of a second baseman Salome can be.
  13. Much better game tonight, Charlie Villanueva looked like a whole new player. The Bucks really shared the ball nicely, and were very active defensively. Michael Redd also looked very good tonight, and was making good passes, and taking good shots.
  14. Congrats to Mat, that is awesome to see a Brewer prospect win this award. Its good to hear that his injury is not considered serious, and that his shoulder probably had a lot to do w/ his late season slide. I look forward to seeing him in Milwaukee in the near future.
  15. It would be like the opposite of the Vina, Albert Belle incident.
  16. But his away splits over the last 2 seasons are .301/.374/.485 in 07', and .308/.405/.486 in 08', so wouldn't you say that he is more likely to put up number close to that than his minor league numbers or numbers he put up 3 years ago or later?
  17. I was really hoping to see a different Michael Redd, his stats look good, but other than a few stretches I thought he played very selfishly, especially to start out the game. I liked when Skiles pulled him in the 3rd quarter(I think) when he threw up a crappy 3 pointer instead of passing it into the post. I think if Bogut doesn't get into foul trouble this would have been a lot closer game. He looked to be very aggresive on the offensive boards. I wasn't very happy w/ the rotation, as I was hoping to see Villanueva play more than 9 minutes, I wonder if he got hurt, or if Skiles just decided not to play him. I thought he worked hard when he was out there. Malik Allen was hitting his jump shots, but has no athleticism, and shouldn't be playing 20+ minutes. We really need more athleticism, I hope that Alexander starts to figure it out so he can get some minutes at the 3/4 over Malik Allen. Ridnour had some ugly turnovers in the second half, but I think a lot of his play was due to him being injured. He looked much better in the preseason games I saw him play. Lue played better than I expected, but doesn't look like he has any court vision, I'd much rather see Sessions get the backup PG role.
  18. Except that Belliard is soft and Salome is ripped. How can you say how good Salome would be at 2nd when he's only played catcher, what are you basing that on?
  19. I think the report is that Ridnour is having back spasms, and is "iffy" for the game tonight. If him or Bogut doesn't play then I change my prediction to a Bulls win. Especially if Lue starts or plays more than 10 minutes.
  20. Not many people are a Biggio type of player, but what makes you say that he is more like Belliard, thats an odd comparison. And if he's like Belliard, are you saying he would be a good 2nd baseman?
  21. I'm going to miss 93.1 the Lake, it was by far my favorite classic rock channel, but I'm also glad there is finally a Madison hip hop station that actually comes in, 106.7 has very little coverage.
  22. Larry Hughes is out for at least the first couple weeks of the season, and so I think their depth chart looks more like this: C: Gooden, Noah, Aaron Gray, Ruffin PF: Tyrus Thomas, Gooden, Noah, Ruffin SF: Deng, Nocioni, Sefolosha SG: Hinrich, Gordon, Sefolosha PG: Rose, Hinrich I'm very excited about this game, and I'm predicting a 95-89 Bucks victory.
  23. I think Randy Johnson would be a great signing if we are unable to bring back Sabathia or Sheets, and Arizona decides not to resign him. I would throw him at least 10 million for one or two years, if he would be interested in coming to Milwaukee. He pitched 184 innings last season, and had very good stats. He would be risky, but could be a very good addition if he stayed healthy.
  24. He's not a lefty hitter, but hits righties better anyways, has big home road splits, but had respectable .892 and .860 OPS's on the road the last 2 seasons. If we could get him for Hart, one of our catching prospects, and Periard I would consider it. He would be a great addition to our linuep w/ his OBP.
