  1. If Stetter isn't in to face Votto next inning I'll flip, regardless of situation. Should've been in for Bruce, too.
  2. Looks like the Brewers still aren't ready to accept that Lucroy is a competent hitter. Bunting on 0-2? Should've just pinch-hit for him.
  3. Unbelievable stuff from Marco Estrada. He deserves a spot on a ML roster. I certainly feel a lot better about our SP depth though, having Estrada stashed in AAA with Rivas and hopefully a healthy Rogers...nice insurance.
  4. Each pitcher is getting a different strike zone. Leake's is ginormous. Another great AB with no positive result for Gomez.
  5. Seems as though the shifts have been working more than not lately
  6. I never thought I'd miss Luis Cruz. Ever.
  7. It will be Gamel's gig to lose. JohnBriggs is right on the money. A right-hander to spell him from time to time. Nady and Cantu stick out to me from that list as well.
  8. Come on now. I'd start Boggs if the only reason being that they'll inevitably need a big pinch hit. I'd have more confidence in Kotsay in that role.
  9. I feel like most people are ready to move on from Prince, but if he'd be willing to take a 3-4 year deal I wouldn't care about the dollar amount. Now, there's no reason to believe that that's close to possible, but my point is that the only question surrounding Prince Fielder is his longevity. I realize he's still young, but he's never missed any significant time to injury - even with that body - despite playing with the enthusiasm of a 12 year old at the level of a potential hall-of-famer. The energy and effort he exhibits every single game is something you just don't see out of players like him. It sounds watered-down and cliched but it's absolutely true. Has the guy ever not been completely focused regardless of the situation? I don't know how to quantify that into dollar value but it definitely counts for something. Any employer puts a tremendous priority on work ethic and attitude. The good thing is that I think the Brewers have adequately prepared themselves for his departure, but the fact that he's absolutely irreplaceable saddens me. But until he's gone for sure I'll be crossing my fingers.
  10. I hate to be mr. downer here, but I'm getting really sick of losing to the Reds. This annoys me.
  11. Gomez has looked like a completely different hitter this homestand...that was a great AB for him.
  12. Wolf looks aggressive and strong again...getting a lot of the plate with that fastball though, hopefully that doesn't start biting him
  13. Betancourt's really seeing it well. Laid off a few pitches we haven't seen him pass on lately.
  14. Enjoy this season, folks. We may never see a tandem like Braun/Fielder again on this team...no doubt in my mind they were going to make noise in this inning. Love that feeling.
  15. Yeah, Braun's financial future was already set through 2015. I don't think the Brewers were ever planning to sign Greinke or Marcum for more than 4 years.
  16. This is difficult, because I much prefer Kottaras to Nieves. However - as someone said earlier - the reality is that the job is to play 1 out of 4 or 5 games. Nieves is probably a better defender overall but he just poses absolutely no threat offensively. But I'm probably not nearly as upset about it as Randy Wolf.
  17. If nothing else it would be nice to know there is a somewhat capable option at SS after Counsell. His offensive numbers don't suggest extreme incompetence, so if he can handle the position I'd expect to see his name on the Brewers' roster in some capacity next season.
  18. My heart goes out to the Marcum family, best of luck to them. On another note, I can't help but wonder why they so highly regard Wil Nieves. Why not just go with 13 pitchers for a while until they get some rest and Hart returns? Further delaying the inevitable here.
  19. Too late now, should've been on the team straight away out of spring training. Hart will be back and Morgan's bruise will heal. The 5th OF will get little to no playing time once that happens.
  20. Pretty obvious the Brewers adjusted to Marquis' non-stop strike throwing. Kudos to the coaching staff.
  21. Listening to Uecker is so much more relaxing and entertaining...gameday audio for the win.
  22. Too much focus on the 10th (which would've never happened if it wasn't for a VERY clutch piece of hitting by one of our worst hitters) and not enough on the 2nd, where our pitcher walked in 2 runs - one being the left-handed swinging opposing pitcher, and Ryan Braun somehow did not throw out Mike Morse on what was almost an infield popout.
  23. God, I just want Go-go to have a good moment without ruining it by reminding us of his unbelievably terrible baseball IQ. But a seriously good AB there for him.
