  1. Nope. it was 3-0. And Gomez speed paid off that inning. Well it should have been a strike. Still not really a big deal
  2. 1a. (implied) Who would you rather have signed to a long term deal right now? I've been going back and forth on this in my head for a few days now. Discuss.
  3. Carlos Gomez took two walks yesterday.
  4. It bothers me that Latos is due for a good one, but I think this is the Brewers' opportunity to turn the page mentally...back at home, the whole Greinke spectacle they've been advertising for weeks. They're too good to keep playing like they have, hopefully the good part of the season starts tonight.
  5. I can't believe how collectively apathetic they are with the bats right now. SO many great pitches to hit today.
  6. Yeah, this ump's trigger happy on that side of the plate. I expect both pitchers to pound it
  7. That's 2 ripped outs to SS now...McClellan doesn't look all that sharp.
  8. Willie, sorry. Are you reading these posts? Making him seem like a defensive superstar. Yes, he makes nice plays once in awhile out there, but he also throws to the wrong bases often, misses cutoffs and does not do enough out there to make up for his shoddy bat. I'm sorry, but I'm not drinking the same Kool Aid. I'm sorry, but I honestly can't imagine a better defensive centerfielder. Maybe he makes a "wrong" decision now and again with his arm, but unlike most CF he actually has one and usually throws out the guy who challenges it. His range and reactions are phenomenal, as we've all seen. I still think there's reason to hope that he can be an acceptable ML hitter, he's shown some progress (no matter how gradual) in the last few weeks. He's got extra opportunity with Morgan out again, maybe the results will start coming like they did today. Definitely a guy that's hard to keep out of the lineup for a manager. You don't see many professional athletes give 'er like he does all the time. I'm rooting for him as hard as anyone.
  9. Guys, he's not coming out until he's given up a hit. He still looks strong, no reason to pull him other than paranoia
  10. It's always bothered me how 100 pitches is the end-all when determining pitcher fatigue. Pull him when it looks like he's laboring
  11. I'd really like to see Rickie get more ABs with runners on base. But I'm not fond of moving him from the leadoff spot, especially with Morgan on the DL. Maybe that's the shrewd reasoning why Lucroy's still hitting 8th...?
  12. I think the speed aspect of the team has been pretty overrated, honestly. At least in terms of stolen bases. Hart and Braun may run well but they definitely are not guys I'd trust to steal a base at will. Morgan and Gomez are probably the only two that I feel could swipe one with any kind of jump. Weeks is probably the best overall baserunner on the team, but rarely even attempts to steal because of where he is in the batting order. But they are definitely aggressive on the bases, I think Roenicke has pretty much applied his philosophy. Whether it's right for a team with a questionable baseball IQ is debatable, but that's not the point here.
  13. A team of streaky hitters will look something like this sometimes. But I can't remember a time when an entire team seemed so disinterested.
  14. At dawn starts anewYesterday's woes whisked asidePlease catch the baseball
  15. Makes a lot more sense to have him as the 25th man before Boggs or Almonte.
  16. Edwin Jackson walked at least 6 (want to say more) and threw about 140 pitches...that one was real ugly.
  17. Gallardo's stuff looks really sharp. EVERY park in the league should have this camera angle. It's perfect.
