  1. I think Prince might've had the best pitcher, for what it's worth. That guy who was throwing to Pena was worthless...
  2. Boring ol' Ryan Howard is bombing them with 9 outs and the crowd is snoozing...they obviously have lost all interest.
  3. I'm intrigued. If the Pirates are desperate to get rid of him, why not call? If he can be had for little it couldn't hurt to give him a shot.
  4. Probably should have been Wandy before Zach Duke...not on board with that pick.
  5. What is it up to now, 3 for 25?
  6. 35 minute first inning. We're in for another marathon, folks.
  7. You don't beat the Dodgers doing this. Clayton Kershaw is licking his chops.
  8. Wow, Lawrie's starting too? Awesome. I'm assuming Escobar didn't play tonight because of this? I get jumpy around trade season when people are suddenly out of the lineup...
  9. Any chance the Ms would move him? He's struggling for them right now and just got sent to AAA. I don't think any team is too eager to trade away young pitching, but obviously the Jack Z ties are there for the Brewers. What kind of package would the Ms ask for? Any ideas?
  10. Brewers chasing Philly for most HR allowed with 111. PHI at 122 (Hamels allowed 3 tonight). It's a problem.
  11. It's a perfect game in my book. He got 28 outs.
  12. Chris Smith? Oh yeah...nevermind. Maybe Chris Narves...oh. Hmm. How about RJ Swi...ugh, maybe not...
  13. Villanueva is a major league pitcher. He's just unbelievably streaky, just like 90% of the team. He can't keep being used in important situations when he can't locate his already below-average fastball. Jody Gerut has gotten what, 4 ABs per week? Yeah, he's struggled, but he had success in the league last year and deserves an opportunity to get out of the funk. Besides that, who do you trust to play CF should Cameron get hurt (he doesn't look it, but he is 36 - you have to consider it)? It's hard to argue Bill Hall. Total knee-jerk thread, though.
  14. I was hoping for a Braun-comment-tracker thread. I'm in the you-better-produce-now crowd, unfortunately...the leash just got a lot shorter for me. I've despised pretty much any athlete with a mouth and I'd be a hypocrite if I defended Braun now.
  15. They could've really turned the momentum in the last two days if they just could've finished off a win. Parra's performance yesterday, Gamel's huge HR tonight. Two Ls to show for it. Huge downer.
  16. You really have an inexplicable hatred for Casey McGehee. For the record, I wasn't trying to hate on McGehee here. I'm frustrated that Jody Gerut never plays. Speak of the devil...
  17. It's not that hard to score two runs with the bases loaded and nobody out. Thanks Casey! So, has Jody Gerut officially joined Bill Hall on the non-existent portion of the bench or what? Is the guy EVER going to get an opportunity to do anything?
  18. We didn't sign Looper to get a guy who gives up 40+ HRs over the course of the season.
  19. Through their first 80 games, the Cincinnati Reds were 40-40 overall, 20-20 at home, 20-20 on the road, 36-36 in nine-inning games, 4-4 in extra inning games, 28-28 against right-handed pitchers, and 12-12 against left-handed pitchers. Anyone else see this? That's incredible.
  20. How quickly a 'W' turns into a 'L'. Too bad Coffey worked so hard yesterday.
