    Oh great, comcast sports net for the game today. Cubs announcers, lame. Bob Brenly says Bush is a tough left-hander.

    Get to watch Bush again on MLB.tv...I just can't help liking the guy. All he does is throw strikes and keep the game moving. I'm rooting for him so much to make the rotation, but he's not doing anything to impress anyone right now.

    Can someone explain this to me please? What's the difference between innings in AAA and innings in MLB? I mean, all I hear is how Parra needs to limit his innings, but if he's getting consistent starts in AAA it's not like he isn't pitching. Will they just have him pitch less at AAA or what? If they only want him to get X amount of innings why can't they let him do it with the Brewers, even if it means missing a start here or there to "save" his arm?

    All right! That may have been my e-mail, I told them to say hey to everyone here. Of course, in the 10 minutes I was away from my computer they responded to it. Did they actually talk about the backup catcher thing or did they just mention the shoutout?

    This makes me sad. A couple of things I thought were set in stone at the start of this offseason was Carlos Villanueva's entrenchment in the starting rotation to start the season, and that Claudio Vargas would be gone as soon as possible. ...this makes me sad, just the thought to do it bothers me.

    "If Dempster can return effectively to the rotation (he won 15 games for the Marlins seven years ago) and Carlos Marmol, Bob Howry or Wood are any good in the ninth, the Cubs would have helped themselves again." LOL. All the ifs seem like sure things in February.

    Would you like Ned Yost to tell everybody Ben Sheets is doomed for failure and is too frail to pitch on the major league level? I'm sure the players would appreciate that kind of confidence coming from their manager. If you're just nitpicking about the wording, I don't think it's fair to pick on Ned for making a baseball-manager-statement, especially when we all know what he means by it.

    I think it's worth noting that he put up decent numbers with the Cubs with the switch to the NL. .270/.362 seeing 4+ P/PA? That's something this lineup really needs.

    I would pick Albert Pujols in a heartbeat, with Hanley Ramirez close behind.

    The tone of that article just reeks of Cubs fan. Cliff notes: Last season was a complete waste, and without Erik Bedard the Cubs' season is shot. The whole last section entitled "Falling Farther Behind" is hilarious. Absolutely no mention of the Diamondbacks, who were absolutely the favorite to win the NL before the Santana trade (the Diamondbacks may still be the favorite anyway). To say the Cubs were the favorite in the NL and then go on to say how awful they were last year with no improvement this offseason doesn't make sense to me.

    I've been watching some games on MLB.tv, god bless it. Just yesterday night I watched a game against Florida, a 3-0 win where Sheets threw 6 shutout innings and Brian Anderson told the story about Ben Sheets yelling at a water bottle. I've also watched the wins they did get against Chicago, and a lot of games where Yovani started.

    How often did you see Kapler's name or Mota's name? Hey, I'm not ruling out the possibility that Teahan's on the radar, I just personally can't see the Royals wanting to trade him anywhere. Especially seeing the pieces that we'd be willing to offer.

    I realize that he doesn't just tell us who he's looking for, when I said "from Doug" I more or less just meant from a source, though I know that me pointing this out is useless. I read Haudricourt's blogs as consistently as I can and I have not seen Teahen's name anywhere. I honestly have not heard Teahen's name once in any rumors before I entered this thread. I have not thought of him at all because I never and still have no reason to believe that he's available. And Katuluu, I'm a newbie, what more can you expect, right?
