  1. For stocks this is basically what I use. The Elliot Wave Theory is what I use when I am investing though I do use triggers for my sales once I lock in a gain that I am comfortable with. I also know some very successful traders who bring in about $75k-100k a year just doing this but they are on the market all day. Apple is a pretty good stock in terms of the Wave Theory. Apple is currently in wave 5. I have lost some using this strategy but overall I have come ahead. I don't do long term investing that is what my 401k is for and my gold and silver investments. Everything that I do with my own money is all short-term and I think the longest I have owned a stock personally is for about 12 months and that was Amazon in 2015 which was a nice return on investment even if it was only 10 shares stupid car repairs.
  2. If you can get into real estate now or are already in it then yes. If the Fed does increase the interest rates to where they should be rental properties will be even better as there will be less and less people who will be able to afford to buy a house. If you are going into real estate to flip houses I would hold back until there is more information about what the Fed is going to do in terms of interest rates. Having less buyers if the interest rates do go up will put a hurt on home sales but rentals should see an increase.
  3. If you are going the real estate route what kind of real estate are we talking about? Business or housing? Real estate can be more riskier than the market and can be harder to sell or lease. Gold and silver can still get you nice returns just don't buy coins they are harder to sell ie. melt value is not worth it get bars instead and cut them up and sell when above market.
  4. Yep.you are right haven't looked at the market map in awhile and actually all of Wisconsin is considered part of the Minnesota Wilds market now.
  5. Milwaukee falls under the Blackhawks market according to the NHL. The Milwaukee market includes all of South eastern Wisconsin. The Ducks had to pay the Kings $25m when they became a franchise. I would expect at least $35-40m going to the Blackhawks in any deal that would bring an NHL franchise to Milwaukee if not more.
  6. It's simple really why Milwaukee won't ever have an NHL franchise. The Blackhawks are never going to give up the market area at least not without a rather high price tag. The NHL franchise price is already rather ridiculous and when you add in paying off Chicago there would be very little money left for the owner to invest in the team and for an arena. Unless you see the city of Milwaukee paying 100% for the arena for an NHL team I don't see how a team will ever be in Milwaukee in the NHL.
  7. I buy all of my games from either Amazon, Green Man Gaming, GOG or Steam.
  8. Welcome to the PC Master Race. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/870/155/640.gif
  9. HAH! How was that name not taken already?
  10. Sound a lot like Civilization. After the first couple hours OK one more turn and I will be done. A few more hours later OK one more turn and I will be done. Looks at clock dang it I have to get ready for work now well one more turn won't hurt.
  11. For the PS4 I am just waiting for Mass Effect: Andromeda that is coming out next year at some point. Everything else I am waiting for is on the PC and that is basically Star Citizen and Squadron 42.
  12. Has anyone taken a job out of the country? I have been contemplating trying to get a job out of the country in the next couple of years. Anyone have any advice on where to start on this? I am not sure where I want to go either.
  13. So I did my digital interview today and it was one of the weirdest things I have ever done. It was very hard for me to even decide when I was done answering a question. This is extremely difficult as I had no visual clues or even audible clues from someone that this was the answering they were looking for. It felt like I was just rambling and I was one of those crazy people on YouTube.
  14. So for a job that I have applied for they want me to do a digital interview. Basically I have to record myself answering some questions that they have with a webcam. I have never done this before and just find this weird but I have already done the phone interview with the HR person and this is the next step before I get an interview with the hiring manager. Has anyone done one of these before? Any tips or tricks that I should know about? They said do not worry about the quality of the video so I think any type of a webcam should do.
  15. While true there is a high demand for people to do SQL queries I have found that some of the even entry level positions for some strange reason are asking for 3-5 years of experience with SQL queries. Which makes no sense at all as most of the entry level jobs that require SQL are basically a click and run SQL queries that are already made for you.
  16. Try applying to jobs that you don't qualify for or are just under the qualifications. Even if you don't qualify for the job you should be applying for it if you have some of the qualifications for the job. My most recent job I applied for and got I only had one qualification that they were looking for it just happened to be what they were actually looking for. Just keep on applying to everything even if you do not fully qualify for the job.
  17. I would suggest a non profit company for PR or a political campaign. This should get you the experience you are trying to get and get you networking.
  18. What kind of Advertising are you trying to get into? Have you tried volunteering for a non profit? Have you tried the career services at UWM? You should really go to any and all career fairs. This will get your name out there and you will be able to meet the recruiters which should help. Do not play the desperation card in your cover letter! Are you doing graphic design for advertisement? You might want to have a portfolio of your work over a resume if you are creating advertisements.
  19. What kind of magazine would it be for? Is it possible to do something that is more along the lines of your career goal. For example if you could be an editor for a fish and game or an outdoors type of a magazine that would help you out and also help the company out sort of. If you do get into parks and recreation you can then possibly work both jobs as a freelance editor for the company while you are working your parks and recreation job. I would be honest with the company that you used to work for tell them where you want to be in 2-4 years and mention something like I stated above that you are interested in doing something more along the lines of an outdoors type of a magazine.
  20. For the most part yes. Most of the people doing the recruiting for them are just old used car salesman who know nothing about HR or the jobs that they are trying to get people for. Most of it is a sales thing so they do good at that but the majority of them are extremely horrible at the HR side of things. Basically they know the job description and that is it and sometimes they don't even know that. If you are seriously interested in a position that a staffing agency has you basically have to call them a lot and do not leave a message as they don't normally call back. You just have to keep on contacting them and reminding them you are interested in a certain position that has been posted. On the recruiter side as I know someone who works at a staffing agency she has told me that about 95% of the applications she receives for jobs are people who are not qualified at all for the job. They are just basically submitting their paperwork to get their unemployment check. Of the 5% who are qualified for the job only about 2-3% actually call her back and the ones that do call her back the company finds a problem with them and wants someone more experienced who is willing to take less to do more. My advice again is to just keep on hounding the recruiter and trying to get in contact with them. Just putting in an application or submitting your resume is not enough.
  21. I use http://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm for salaries. That should give you a ballpark figure to ask for.
  22. I have received a job through them once. They are OK but definitely not the greatest recruiters out there. Basically they forgot all about me and everyone else at the position and didn't really check in on us on how everything was going and if the job was a fit but then again I have been spoiled by Randstad as they would check up on me every month. I am currently doing a contract position with them right now. I have had problems with Aerotek in the past where the recruiter only knew the bare basics of what the job entailed basically only what you would get from a job posting and that was it. Be careful with that as it either means the recruiter knows nothing about the job and was just assigned to fill it or they need to hit their quota for the month and need to fill the job no matter what even if it isn't a fit for you and your skills.
  23. 2. Any other high turnover jobs not involving food? Call center jobs usually have high turnover more so than jobs involving food. There is a lot of burnout from those jobs and most are usually part-time jobs. 3. Is there any place to look I may not be thinking of? Classified ads are almost nonexistent, and I've seen no ads on Careerbuilder for basic entry level jobs. Even though the call center jobs normally state they want experience my general experience with those jobs is that they will hire anyone that is a warm body as long as you can speak clearly
