  1. Their WHIP is 3rd worst in all of baseball. If it stays closer to 2.0 the runs scored will start to go up.
  2. Why not just teach at a local tech school or university or one of the online schools? The pay sucks but it is not as demanding as an every day job. I taught a few online classes through the university of phoenix. Basically it is just give curriculum and they figure it out. Got about $500 a month after taxes during COVID. The grading is super simple you just put it through a program that they give you access to and that is it.
  3. Giannis ruled as doubtful for Game 2 with a lower back contusion.
  4. Scratch Marquez he is now on the IL with forearm inflammation. Though they are saying it is minor but that is usually a TJ surgery possibility at some point.
  5. Missing one in Grady Sizemore. Their swing isn't exactly the same as Mitchell's is a bit more flat compared to Sizemore's. Speed and athleticism I would put them at about equal. Defensively they are the same and I wouldn't be surprised if Mitchell puts up something similar to what Sizemore did in the early 2000's defensively.
  6. lol Tellez was out if the catcher actually catches that ball. That was a bad send.
  7. I wouldn't trade Yelich for Suter.
  8. Turang home runs are fun and the TV team needs to remember he already hit his first HR.
  9. If it is a pectoralis muscle strain then it is about 20 days to return to playing.
  10. In the dugout he was grabbing his pectoral muscle area. Looks to be in some discomfort.
  11. The Athletic has the Packers taking the following in the first 3 rounds. The Athletic has more pick predictions but I am just listing the first 3 rounds. 15.Peter Skoronski 45. Luke Musgrave TE 78. Antonio Johnson S https://theathletic.com/4413880/2023/04/17/nfl-7-rounds-mock-draft-2023/ In this draft the Packers pass on Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR who is drafted at #20 to Seattle. I don't think the Packers would pass on Jaxon Smith-Njigba if he is available at 15 and I don't see the Packers taking Skoronski either.
  12. The only other option maybe Marquez from the Rockies for Lara (OF) and a lottery ticket.
  13. I just looked it up in AZ you can buy property in a 55+ aged community before you turn 55. The only rule is that a resident must be 55. If you are not claiming that property as your main residence then you can have the property. To be able to stay there you would have to look up the bylaws of the community on how many weeks or months you can stay there being over the age of 18 and under 55. So for example if your significant other turns 55 before you do or you turn 55 before they do you could live there as your main residence without any of the bylaws impacting you.
  14. Last year he had 20 HR's and 14 doubles. He has power we just haven't seen it yet. He has 20+ HR potential.
  15. DH is an option for Contreras and the Brewers will still need a backup catcher also.
  16. As long as he puts up 100+ wRC+ seasons he should be fine. At 100+ wRC+ he is basically an above average catcher offensively. If he continues to improve defensively he should be an elite level catcher. He may not be up there with Realmuto, Smith and Rutschman offensively but he should be in the next tier of really good catchers offensively.
  17. I don't see the Packers budging on the 1st round so whoever blinks first I guess. Though it looks like the Jets owner is not budging either on their demands. I still believe it will be an after the draft trade.
  18. In AZ at least there are a bunch of 55+ communities that are extremely affordable. Depending on the community I believe you can buy a property before you hit 55 if you don't have any children that will be living with you in the community. Would have to check the bylaws for the communities but I am fairly certain there are a few that will allow you to buy the property before the age of 55. There are a bunch of condos in the $180k range and some houses in the $150k range also. I know some look down on trailer parks but the 55+ communities here are actually rather nice. You can either buy a lot with no trailer and park an RV or put a trailer on the lot. Also in AZ there is basically only a 1% chance of a tornado ever forming so safe from that. The only weather related issue would be during the summer months when the monsoons come.
  19. Hiura has been a really good low ball hitter. It is the upper part of the zone where he gets absolutely dominated. It is mostly because of his swing and in that video his swing hasn't changed a bit. It is still an upper cut swing where he is going to be taken advantage of in the upper part of the zone. I believe only 3 of Hiura's extra base hits last year were in the upper part of the zone and the majority of his K's were in the upper part of the zone. The leg kick is not the main problem for Hiura it is the upper cut swing and his inability to cover the top third of the strike zone.
  20. I am going with after the draft. I don't think the Jets will part with a 1st round pick in '24 and will instead insist on a 2nd round pick that could become a 1st if the Jets make the playoffs in '23 and a 2nd round pick in '25. The Jets will receive the Packers 2nd round pick in '25 if Rodgers retires after the '23 season and if Rodgers doesn't retire it will be a 5th round pick in '25.
  21. As the old saying goes it takes two to tango. With Burnes it is just not an option for the Brewers to extend him with Yelich on the team. It is just not financially possible for the Brewers to do this. Adames is probably looking at a Baez or Swanson type of a deal. Not all that unreasonable but not someone I would want the Brewers to lock up long term. Look I know there are plenty of people who want to see the Brewers to lock up the players they have but I don't think it is necessary to do so especially for ones so close to FA. Chourio, Wiemer, Mitchell, Turang and Frelick sure offer extension for them and even see if the Brewers could extend Contreras. Woodruff I would wait until he comes back and see if he is the same if he is then sign him to an extension if he is willing to sign one that is reasonable. I would also look at giving Anderson an extension maybe buy out one or two years of FA. Something like an extension of 2-years $14.5m for Anderson with a mutual option of $8m for a third year. Tellez is another player the Brewers could extend cheaply but I am not sure they should. Basically the players the Brewers could extend are scraping the bottom of the barrel or younger players. I am more of the mindset of if you can't extend the players within their first or second year in MLB then it is best to just go year to year. After year 2 the player gets closer to FA and it will cost the team closer to FA money.
  22. If you look at the zone you can see it was a bad zone for the hitters yesterday. There were only three misses that went the hitters way and usually that is going to be the case inside the strike zone. But as you can see in the Missed Calls the umpire was calling a lot of strikes lower in the zone which helped Darvish out a lot as that is where he normally is living at and the same for Miley.
  23. There was a Yelich AB where the ump called a strike on a low and away pitch that would have put the count at 2-1 instead of 1-2. Yelich then swung at the next pitch which was a little bit higher but also out of the zone. One pitch can change an AB. There were a few others but that one stood out to me that was similar to the Machado AB.
  24. I think he was bad for both teams which is evident in the 0.42 runs in favor of the Brewers. Definitely a bad umpiring game. There were bad calls for both teams that mostly benefited the pitcher. The only luck was the Padres didn’t get a hit when they had the opportunities to score.
