  1. Touché sir touché.
  2. Regardless of the Brewers model it doesn't make much financial sense for Burnes, Woodruff and Adames to sign a long term deal right now with the Brewers. The Brewers would have to pay market rate or close to it for the three. I don't believe Adames is worth market rate and definitely not so into his later 30's. I really like Adames but there is a point where like and his production just don't make sense financially for the team.
  3. Decided to start a new thread for the 2023 season. Biggest news so far is that Derrick Henry is now on the trade block. https://www.si.com/nfl/titans/news/derrick-henry-on-the-trade-block-according-to-combine-report I think that would eliminate the Titans as a possible trade destination for Rodgers. It looks like the Titans are going on a rebuild right now.
  4. That would be a crazy scenario and would be interesting to see. If it got to that point then something really bad happened or perceived to have happened from Rodgers point of view. This is like Farve 2.0 all over again and as a Bears fan it is rather comical to watch unfold. I think Rodgers is far more vindictive than Farve was and I wouldn't be surprised if this is something that Rodgers does. Probably forces him into a trade to somewhere he wants to go maybe Miami, Vegas or Detroit? If this scenario plays out it would tie the Packers hands completely and they would have basically no say on where he is going. So if Rodgers wanted to play for the Vikings or the Lions the Packers would have to trade him to those teams and at that point they are probably only getting minimal compensation for it. So something like a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick in '24 for Rodgers.
  5. Is a 40-yard dash even useful information? Yes someone can run a really fast 40-yard dash but that is without being fully equipped with pads and a helmet and is usually on a surface that is easier to get a grip and run as fast as possible. I would think game speed would be more important than a 40 time.
  6. At this time it is better to extend players like Frelick, Mitchell, Wiemer, Turang, Chourio and others. For Adames right now it makes more sense to go the free agent route. The amount of money being thrown around for free agents is just insane right now. I don't believe it would be prudent for the Brewers to sign Adames to a contract similar to Swanson. At a minimum I think Adames gets the Swanson deal and I just don't believe that would be a good idea for the Brewers.
  7. The tournament committee already have better tools than simply playing .500 in a conference to determine who goes and who doesn't.
  8. I just don't see Cleveland giving up a big time prospect for Burnes. I think this is the most that Cleveland would offer for Burnes: Espino RHP, Martinez SS and Valera OF. I don't see them giving up Williams which at that point it is just not worth it trading with Cleveland.
  9. I think the Brewers could easily do that with Frelick, Wiemer and Mitchell in the OF. That is a lot of speed in the OF and the weakest arm being Frelick's. Probably could do Wiemer in short right and then Frelick in LCF and Mitchell in RCF.
  10. Uribe tends to have bad control problems. If he ever figures that out he will be a dominant reliever.
  11. Well the end user also needs to be smart. Would be better if all of your smart devices were in one hub. Update the hubs password to the new WiFi password. That way you only change one instead of all of them.
  12. Bucks with a perfect February record.
  13. I think the jump of 10 minutes from 1990 to 2000 was probably because of more TV coverage. I believe 2000 would be the year every team had all of their games televised?
  14. Chat bots FTW!
  15. I still think June is the earliest we see Frelick but I wouldn't mind being wrong on this.
  16. The East as the #3 is probably the most likely outcome but the South is also possible as the #3.
  17. Uhhh Busch hasn't played a single inning as a SS. He is more of a 1B than a 2B but he can play 2B and if he had to play SS he would make Yuni look like Ozzie Smith. Lux wasn't the Dodgers first option at SS but he was going to be the option after being told Adames wasn't available and losing out on Turner.
  18. Just going to leave this here.
  19. They did earlier in the off season.
  20. I think you are getting Ken Macha confused with CC. There really hasn't been a younger player who hasn't played when deserving to be played under CC.
  21. I am not sure that is really news or even insider information as there were plenty of should the Bucks trade Middleton and Lopez talks this past off season. I think the Bucks found out even if they did that they wouldn't really get under the cap and would be bad for a year or two while angering Giannis.
  22. I believe MA put up his own money plus money from the team to improve the spring training facilities. I think the majority of the money came from the Brewers and MA and the city of Phoenix provided very little to the Brewers. My memory maybe wrong about this but I think it was mostly if not all of the money came from the Brewers and MA on this one. I would hope MA and the Brewers would contribute more and I would also like to see the Brewers owning the stadium and everything else outright. I still think crowdfunding would be a better way to go for things like this. Get to throw out the first pitch of the game of your choosing (excluding opening day, holidays, season seat holder days and playoffs) for $5k. You could possibly sell about 60 of them for $300k and you could probably even bump that up to $10k and still sell them out at $1m. Sell the rights to name a bathroom for $1k. Get your name added to the walk of fame as a contributor to the funding of the stadium remodel for $10 (everyone would get this with any pledge greater than or equal to $10). Be able to take batting practice with the Brewers at the home game of your choosing for $1k (excluding holidays, opening day and playoffs). Become a Brewer for the day for $10k (includes uniform with name and a number of your choosing, interview with Uecker or Bill and Brian, signed baseball and you watch the game from the GM's suite). Could probably sell 10-20 of those. There are more things the team could do to raise funds.
  23. Because 1.5 years of Burnes is worth more than a half a year of Burnes. You will also start eliminating some teams as the Phillies would have their two and really only best trade chips on their team by that time. The Dodgers would also have their better prospects up by '24 also. Makes more sense to either trade him next offseason or during the deadline if the Brewers are out of it. Preferably I would rather see him traded in the next offseason because that means the Brewers made the playoffs or were within striking distance of a playoff spot.
  24. Yes I know, that was just in general not really pointing out the Brewers situation.
  25. Economically there is no benefit to building a stadium or giving money to professional teams compared to an alternative investment. Majority of the time it is going to be a negative over an alternative. If you want to bore yourself to death there are a lot of studies done on this by a lot of economists.
