  1. Are you into the party scene? Tempe and Scottsdale would be where you would want to stay then. Otherwise just about anywhere. If you want to be able to leave Phoenix and get to Sedona quickly then Peoria, Cave Creek or Surprise would be the best options.
  2. Would be very controversial on TV I am not sure even HBO will touch that.
  3. Please note you can't have 14 pitchers on the roster max is 13. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/26-man-roster
  4. First game was good second not so much as they ruined the character in the second. They ruined the development of the character that is. They basically turned Ellie into a Mary Sue in the second game. So far it is following the game fairly close. I do wonder how they are going to handle a certain part of the game with Ellie. I am not sure they will want to touch that part and if they skip it then they are skipping a major character development part for Ellie.
  5. Arbitration agreement contracts are now fully guaranteed. So he gets his $2m if he is DFA’d.
  6. What I have put together wouldn't be a discount. Sure it would be a discount in '24 but it is a raise in '23. Basically he gets the money upfront instead of next year. So lets say the deal is 2 years $32m. That is an increase of $6m in '23 and a decrease of $4m in '24. So it is actually an increase of $2m from what he would earn in '23-'24. So no discount.
  7. I don't think so. The Raiders are basically begging for a QB and would trade their 1st for Rodgers. The Seahawks have multiple 1st round picks and could trade one of them for Rodgers. Probably not going to happen but the Lions could trade one of their 1st round picks for Rodgers also. Something like the Lions 18th and 81st pick could be possible or the Seahawks 20th and 83rd pick. If the Raiders get real desperate it could be their 7th pick and 109th pick. I think Rodgers would probably prefer the Seahawks or the Raiders over the Lions. But I could definitely see the Lions trading for Rodgers it would put them as a Super Bowl favorite and probably the favorites in the NFC by a lot. The Lions could also trade out of the 6th pick and trade it to a team that needs a QB and get another pick in the first round of '24 instead where they could draft a QB if Rodgers retires after the '23 season or draft a QB at that spot to be a replacement for Rodgers. Please note I am not a Packers fan so I am not being homerish on these trades. I don't think the Packers will get the return they could have received last year which was multiple 1st round picks. I think they get at least one 1st round pick and it could possibly be in the middle of the draft. The Steelers also make some sense maybe they trade the 32nd and 49th pick to the Packers for Rodgers.
  8. Apparently the Cardinals are now in preliminary talks with the Marlins for Lopez. I would think either O'Neill or Gorman would have to be going from the Cardinals and probably Yepez also. So something like O'Neill/Gorman, Yepez and lower minor league prospect for Lopez. I think that makes the most sense for the Marlins and I think they would want Gorman over O'Neill but the power that O'Neill could provide for the Marlins I think is too much for them to pass by and they would go with O'Neill, Yepez and a lottery ticket.
  9. They would tender him a contract in arbitration. Even if it means losing money now you are losing more money by getting nothing for him in the future.
  10. I think the Brewers go with some relievers depending on what happens with Burnes. If it goes to arbitration lets just call it $11m for Burnes to round up. So about $18m left to sign a reliever or two. Sign: Rosenthal 1-year $2m, Chapman 1-year $6m and Chafin 1-year $6m That gives the Brewers a nice bullpen but with some question marks in Rosenthal and Chapman. If the Brewers could get Chapman on a deal at less than $10m I think they will go for it. This also gives Counsel some options to use Williams earlier and then use Rosenthal or Chapman as a closer for some games when Williams is not available. You could also switch Chapman with Britton if you are uncomfortable with Chapman but I think Britton gets more than Chapman so you are looking at the $8-10m range for Britton.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if a 2-year deal is agreed to with Burnes. Something like 2-years $26-32m is something I could see the Brewers and Burnes coming to an agreement on. Burnes next year should be somewhere around $20m in arbitration assuming he has another good year in '23. The pro for Burnes signing the deal now is he will get more this year at the cost of losing out on that $20m in arbitration next year. It also guarantees the 2-years and if he is injured or doesn't perform as well then he would at worst be coming in even. Burnes with a bad or injured year still would cost about $16m in arbitration next year. So if the Brewers can get something like 2-years $30m which would basically be splitting the cost and savings for the Brewers and Burnes. Even at 2-years $32m that is still a win for both sides though more so for Burnes. If any discussions are being made now it would be to buyout Burnes remaining arbitration years. It is far too late to be talking about a contract extension with Burnes. After the '19 or '20 season would have been the perfect time to have talked with Burnes about an extension. He is too close to FA right now to be talking about an extension.
  12. Kind of obvious that he would enter. Right now he would be the last QB on the depth chart and it would be smart for him to transfer if playing is what he wants to do otherwise take the free ride at UW.
  13. Defensively Arraez is worse than Urias so I don't see how this improves the Brewers at 3B. This trade makes the Brewers worse off at 3B and is not an upgrade. Arraez would be playing 2B and you would be playing Toro and Brosseau at 3B. I am not seeing how this trade improves the Brewers. It seems like neither team other than the Twins are getting anything useful in this trade. I don't see the Marlins needing Urias or Hiura. Kepler sure but he is not even close to being enough for Lopez. Also I don't see the Twins giving up Thielbar. It would be better to just keep Urias than to do this trade.
  14. Younger kids under the age of 10 I would probably stay away from the following complexes: Maryvale, Surprise and Tempe. There just isn't really much for kids to do at these stadiums other than watch the game. All of the newer complexes have something to do for kids but the previously mentioned ones do not or have very little for kids to do. Best one to go with kids is probably the Dbacks and Rockies complex. It is right next to OdySea which is an aquarium and other things. If you go there make sure you go on groupon or any other site and find a discount don't pay the full price. https://www.odyseaaquarium.com/ Other than that if you do go to the Surprise stadium you could go to the WIld Life Zoo. This is my favorite Zoo in the Phoenix area. Others say the Phoenix Zoo is better but I don't agree. Same as OdySea search on groupon for discounts otherwise it is really expensive to go here. https://www.wildlifeworld.com/ Depending on which spring training facilities you go to 1-2 hours before game time is fine. You will really want to do something other than spring training games. That is usually only like 3-4 hour and then you will need to find something else to do. Kind of a touristy thing but Tortilla Flats is somewhat fun probably will be more fun for your nephews but still a good time. https://www.tortillaflataz.com/ Another fun area if you want to take a drive is Sedona. This is kind of like the Wisconsin Dells. Unless you are really into baseball just doing spring training games would be really boring. If you are not into the party scene Sedona and Tortilla Flats is probably better options. If you like golf there are a lot of golf courses just take your pick on which one you want too go to. Just note this is the busiest time of the year for golfing with all of the MLB players and staff in town plus the snowbirds are still around and locals looking to play some golf. https://visitsedona.com/ If that is too far to drive then there are the Tanger Outlets in Glendale. https://www.tangeroutlet.com/glendale/stores This one is a little bit further out there but if you go to the Peoria Sports complex it is not all that far from there. https://www.outletsanthem.com/ Also Lake Pleasant is open during this time there is a boat tour that takes you along the lake which is rather nice. There are also some trails you can walk around. If you are feeling real daring you could visit the Grand Canyon but please note it is probably going to be really cold during this time of the year. Bring jackets and warm clothing if you go to the Grand Canyon and if you are coming for spring training why wouldn't you go to the Grand Canyon?
  15. All depends on what you like to do. If you go hiking bring water and lots of it. Sunscreen will be needed during games unless you want to look like a lobster. Also night time can get very cold really fast. Take a jacket or a hoodie with you if you go out at night. The temperatures drop really fast at night as there is nothing to trap heat. Downtown Phoenix has some good eating there are a lot of restaurants down there for just about anything and everything. Also can be cheaper and not as long of a wait for a table compared to Tempe and Scottsdale. Mesa is fine depending on where you are staying. Peoria is about a 40 minute drive from Mesa if you are going to a Padres spring training game.
  16. Would have been funny if the Bills Chiefs neutral game would have been played in Green Bay.
  17. lol no. This wasn't supposed to be a serious topic. You are kind of taking this a little bit to serious.
  18. OK will probably cross Nashville off the list. All I do in Vegas now is relax at the pool and drink for most of the day or I am in the casino relaxing. Yeah I know boring but the goal is to relax not be on the run every minute of the day. I will have to look at those places in Mexico. I am not a big fan of San Diego but will have to check that out.
  19. If you could add any player from MLB history to the Brewers roster today who would it be? A few rules: 1. No player who has played for the Milwaukee Brewers or the Milwaukee Braves. 2. No current players. 3. No players who have retired in the last 5-years. For me I am going with Stan Musial to play RF for the Brewers. He would be the perfect #3 hitter in the lineup for the Brewers. I was also thinking either Reggie Jackson or Mickey Mantle but I am not sure how well Mickey could play RF. Manny Ramirez was another thought but Manny in RF would be a disaster but a fun one to watch.
  20. I am having a hard time deciding this year on where I want to take my vacation. I was going to go to Monaco this year and watch the race there but apparently two of my co-workers decided to have kids at the same time so that is out the window but at least my boss will be hearing a temp worker while they are both out otherwise it would just be me and her doing everything for like 3-months. Next year I will definitely be going for sure. I have severely limited times that I can go on vacation as I have regulatory reports I am responsible for that I have to submit in April, Sept, Oct and Nov so I can't be off in those months. Right now it is looking like Vegas, Nashville, Miami or Mexico. I just can't decide on where I want to go. This is like a yearly thing for me I am kind of bored of Vegas I have done that way too many times now. I just want to relax either at a bar, on the beach or at a resort I want to do nothing all day as my work gets way to hectic at times especially during regulatory submission times.
  21. Maybe. OK how about this Steelers send 17, 32 and 49 to the Packers for Rodgers. Packers would then have 15 and 17 plus three picks in the 2nd round. The other option would be Vegas could go 7, 70 and 109. Though I think Love to the Steelers makes a little bit more sense than Rodgers. But that would mean no 1st round pick coming to the Packers and probably would be 49 and a fourth round pick in '24.
  22. This is my the Packers trade Rodgers draft. I think I need to add more to the trading of the 5th pick to the Panthers but otherwise I think this is who the Packers would surround Love with. Watson, Doubs and Johnston would be a nice set of WR's for Love to throw to and add in Musgrave as a nice TE. Defensively the Packers would improve at DB and LB. I think the steal of the draft would be Zach Harrison in the 3rd round. He could become a very nice pass rusher for the Packers. Possible TJ Watt type of player ceiling though the floor could be out of the league in a few years. A lot of his issues come from the pre-snap as he is late a lot but good coaching should fix that.
  23. The Packers would have to cut: Jones, Bakhtiari, Smith and O'Donnell to get to about $9m in cap space. I am not sure what that would get the Packers in FA at safety but you would have to add at least one OL, LB and RB in the draft. I think the Packers cut O'Donnell and then go with someone else as it saves the Packers about $2m in cap space. If they trade Love with all of the other cuts then that gives the Packers about $11m in cap space. I believe the Packers won't cut Bakhtiari until after 6/1 which gives them more cap space but I think that only happens if Rodgers is not on the team.
  24. I believe Fickell is going to go down as the correct choice between him and Leonhard in the long and short run. Even if Fickell doesn't stay past 5-years this was still the right call. Hopefully the recruiting of the non transfers also improves. PC looked completely uninterested in recruiting and was just content with getting whoever would come to UW without putting in much of an effort to get them to come. Hopefully the skill positions start to improve it would be nice to get a Nick Toon or Chris Chambers or Lee Evans type of players again. UW can get those type of prospects but if felt as though PC just gave up and didn't even try to get recruits like those players.
