  1. At this point with the Suns allowing the Bucks to speak with Crowder it is basically almost a done deal or at least as close to being a done deal as it can be without a trade actually happening. I think this is the player the Bucks will add or they won't add anyone who will impact the team at all. Ibaka is more than likely gone it just depends on if it will be in a deal for Crowder or for an expiring contract.
  2. Peak is probably top 25 unless he starts to hit more. Defensively there is no question he is a top catcher and probably could be starting in Milwaukee now. The issue is his offense right now but as long as he can become a .250/.300/.300 catcher that should be fine with the type of defense he provides.
  3. I know the Brewers haven't had a lot of good DH's but putting Seitzer on here and at #2 where he only has about one season worth of time at DH is just asinine and the same can be said about Parker. The list should only be Molitor and Davis anything less than 3-years at the position shouldn't really be counted.
  4. No idea I am not a Packers fan. Their biggest decision will be Rodgers and that may take some time.
  5. Sad day for hockey fans as Bobby Hull has passed away. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/35557785/hall-famer-bobby-hull-golden-jet-dies-age-84
  6. It wouldn't just be the one bad year for Cruz it is his age. At 42 the risk of him having another season like he had last year is extremely high. That is just a dumb risk to take on a player like Cruz at his age. It is why he only signed for $1m and only had a few teams reach out to him. Winker will be the better player in 2023. Regardless of the story it is more likely that Cruz has a Cain 2022 season than he will have a McCutchen type 2022 season.
  7. The 2023 cap will be $224.8m. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-sets-salary-cap-at-224-8-million-per-team-in-2023 The Packers have about -$16m in cap space and will need to get that down by March 15th at 4pm ET.
  8. This is actually a rather deep draft when it comes to the defensive side. A lot of players who could go in the 2nd or 3rd round are going to drop into the 4th and 5th rounds on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is really deep so I wouldn't be surprised if you see some really good edge rushers or safeties available in the 3rd or 4th round who should have been drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round. I think the weakest is probably LB and TE in this draft. There could be a lot of players available on the defensive side when it comes to the 3rd or 4th round who could be role starters on the defensive side of things (nickel CB's, pass rushers, etc.). I think teams with extra 3rd and 4th round picks will be surprised with who is available and will be the ones who benefit the most.
  9. Sometimes getting players that don't cost all that much is better than spending it on the big time free agents. If this were the NFL and a salary cap were in place and revenue was being shared equally by all of the teams then yeah the Brewers would have a spending problem. Since that is not the case the Brewers really have a revenue problem and I don't see a solution that will fix this.
  10. Surprised to see Black on the list. Reading Law's take on Wiemer reads a lot like what scouts had to say about Hart though minus the swing and miss issues.
  11. I was going to say Hamilton at 5 would be better than Deer.
  12. That is why I think it would be you are paying for all of the teams that are currently on RSN deals. This would also include NHL and NBA teams along with the MLB teams. I think that makes more sense as a service than just doing it team by team. Though this basically kills any cable deal so it would be streaming or you don't get the teams other than when they are on ESPN, FOX, etc. but this is what cable is basically going to anyways. So you would have to get the app on the cable box and pay for it to get the team you want.
  13. Short term Bally's going bankrupt would hurt the Brewers a lot but in the long term it would be a huge help. I don't think all of MLB would go into one package but the teams on the RSN deals would all become MLB owned broadcast rights. So instead of paying for a regional network you would pay for all teams kind of like MLB.TV but without the blackout restrictions. I think you would see a MLB, NBA and NHL network put up so you are able to watch all three sports through one subscription. The pricing on that I am not sure but I am thinking somewhere between $20-30 a month and that would be if you wanted MLB, NBA and the NHL all in one. Maybe they do a one team option for something like $14.99 a month. I think the $14.99 a month subscription at least digitally would be the most popular. I am not sure how this would work for cable maybe they lock cable into a more regional format where you only get teams in your region. The cable part is the more complicated situation to work out. The streaming or digital version is far easier as you have less restrictions. Though the way cable companies are starting to roll out their cable instead of having a dedicated channel they could just put the application on their boxes and you subscribe that way. Actually that is how I see cable moving forward in the future. You get a cable box and you can rent or buy it from the cable company and your TV shows come in through your internet connection which is what it is doing now really with the new cable boxes.
  14. If the Colts do the stupid and trade for Rodgers I think this would be the return and what the Packers would do with the draft picks.
  15. I believe FanDuel, DraftKings and others are far more popular than Bally's with sports betting at least the apps are far more popular than Bally's.
  16. Ad revenue maybe constant but that doesn't mean it will be equal to what the payments to the teams are. So a restructure will have to happen which means it is possible the teams don't get the full amount or they get the full amount but it will be in future payments.
  17. I think he starts in AA because the weather is far better in Biloxi than it will be in Appleton. If he struggles in Biloxi early then you move him back down if not then he stays.
  18. Maybe but I think Sinclair would prefer to sell off Bally's than incur more loses. It also depends on what type of bankruptcy they are filing. If Sinclair does shirk all of Bally's old debts that means the teams do not get paid or will only get paid a fraction of what they are owed which will paid out to all of the broadcasts with the larger market teams getting more back the smaller market teams. So the Angels, Heat, Braves and others will get more compared to what the Brewers will get. Then depending on the order of the debt holders the teams could get even less if they are on the lower end of the debt pecking order. So this is a really big deal for the small market teams like the Brewers. I think Sinclair (Bally's) just offers the teams higher ownership shares in the TV deals for a lower payout. The Brewers probably go from 30% to 40-60% ownership and only a $10-20m a year payout.
  19. Looks like the Bucks will need to make the Crowder trade now with Portis being diagnosed with a MCL sprain.
  20. The Astros owner is not all that much better. Maybe he trusts Stearns more but he has been running the whole team and everything had to go through him first for the past few years.
  21. 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% false we all know he is going to the Mets the team he grew up watching! This isn't really surprising.
  22. I don see Baltimore giving up Mayo for Houser maybe Lauer but not Houser. Johnson makes sense but I think you are looking at Kjerstad or Povich instead of Mayo.
  23. I still believe Prescott is the most overrated QB in the NFL. At best he is an average QB but gets hyped as a top QB. The Cowboys were playing better without Prescott than with him. Prescott was one of the main reasons why the Cowboys lost.
  24. I think the Twins won this trade and by a lot. I am not that high on Arraez and think he is a bit overrated.
  25. Wow only $3.75m which is about $2m short of the estimated for him. This is a really good signing by the Royals. If he bounces back the Royals could get something decent in return at the deadline.
