  1. That would be a horrible trade for the Marlins. I still think Mullins for Lopez is a no brainer but apparently the O's or the Marlins don't think so.
  2. I still have no idea why MLB doesn't have the same system for fair or foul on the lines. Maybe it is a technology issue or a stadium issue but you would think it wouldn't be all that difficult to incorporate into MLB.
  3. Looks like Hiura will be on the Brewers unless traded. The new CBA on arbitration has changed so this is now a guaranteed deal.
  4. He didn't want to compete for a starting QB job he wanted it handed to him. There were teams that offered him the QB2 spot for the 2017 season and he never accepted any of them. Fields is also still on his rookie deal. Sure if Kaepernick would have accepted a deal closer to a rookie level salary he probably would have received a starting QB offer. He wasn't going to accept something like that and he wanted top QB starting money. Would you give Trubisky top starting QB money because Trubisky is basically Kaepernick. Trubisky's career QB rating is 86.4 and Kaepernick's is 88.9 so a 2.5 difference which is basically saying they are about equal. So you would have signed Kaepernick to a top QB contract? That is what Kaepernick was looking for how is that blackballing? He did it to himself he wanted top money and he wanted to be a starting QB. No team in the NFL saw him as a starting QB at the time and they were not going to give him what he wanted. Kaepernick didn't want to sign to be a backup QB or to take a prove it type of a deal. Would you sign Trubisky or Mayfield to be a starting QB this offseason?
  5. I am all for our new overlords the Robo Umps.
  6. You would have to delete Ramirez. The Guardians are not trading Ramirez well maybe for a package of Woodruff, Burnes, Chourio, Wiemer, Frelick and Mitchell they would think about doing it.
  7. Cutch against the Brewers in 23'. .400/.400/.700 It is the former Brewers player on the Pirates curse!
  8. This is false. Completely FALSE. Kaepernick was offered plenty of opportunities to be a backup QB for a team he rejected every single one of them. He wanted to be a starting QB for a team and no team saw he was worthy of being a starting QB. His stats as a QB prove he was not a starting QB. Kaepernick kept himself out of the NFL it wasn't due to his peaceful protest that is a lie that Kaepernick continues to spread and ESPN likes to claim as true but there is no evidence of this being true at all.
  9. My list: 1. Prince 2. Cooper Thats it.
  10. Will this make Lewis available in a trade? Maybe someone to watch for a Burnes or Woodruff trade if the Brewers are out of the playoff discussion by the deadline.
  11. 1. Mitchell is the better defender in CF of all of the prospects listed so moving him to 1B would be a waste. 2. Update your autocorrect so Frelick and Wiemer come up correctly.
  12. No retirement is the same as if the player is released. https://russellstreetreport.com/salarycap/nfl-salary-cap-faqs/ It is the signing bonus that is the problem for the Packers which is $59m I believe. That $59m becomes his cap hit if he retires but if he retires after the signing bonus is paid out then the cap hit is far lower because it is now being calculated based on the non prorated bonus. I don't think the Sportrac calculation for a trade is working correctly or it is using the post 6/1 figures as Rodgers has about $31m in prorated salary which you would have to add into the trade for the Packers for a pre 6/1 trade.
  13. The Orioles wouldn't trade Hall for Houser. Hall is someone the Orioles see as a starter and not a reliever. They have placed him in the bullpen last year but they see him as a starter. You would have to include more to get Hall which is just not worth it at that point. Santander makes the most sense for a Brewers trade with the Orioles but I think they would want Lauer over Houser.

  15. For restaurants don't be afraid too go into downtown Phoenix. There are some really good restaurants down there some you can also find in Tempe and Scottsdale like the Cornish Pastry but my favorite spicy food place is Monroe's Hot Chicken. They have the best southern style chicken. The mild is actually really spicy so be careful if you don't like spicy food if you go anything above mild you may have a bad time.
  16. Depends on where you are driving from and to? During the day traffic is not that bad the only time traffic is bad in Phoenix is from 8am - 10am and then from 3pm-6pm. A lot of office workers work East coast shifts so traffic starts to pick up around 3pm. Depending on if you want to see a team stretch and practice arrive about an hour early. Usually the airport is the cheapest to rent a car otherwise Uber and Lyft are fairly reasonable just don't take an Uber or Lyft from the airport as it will add about $20-30 to your fare. Depending on where you are staying take the sky tram from the airport to 44th and washington. From there take the light rail to downtown Phoenix either get off on Washington and Central or Van Buren and Central. Either will work and the Uber or Lyft ride to where you are staying will be cheaper. The sky tram is free and the light rail is cheaper than paying the airport fee for Uber or Lyft. If you have luggage with you don't use the light rail and just get a cab or rent a car at the airport. If you just have a carry on then the light rail should be fine it can get cramped during the day sometimes. Depending on where you are staying in Maryvale it could be fine or not there is a small area where it is bad which is basically right by the Brewers spring training area otherwise Maryvale is ok.
  17. I think it has to do with if he gets his bonus or not. If he doesn't get his bonus then it is pre June 1 but I could be completely wrong on this. I think the Colts had the same issue when Luck retired.
  18. Probably too early for this but I did one for the Packers when I was running my mock for the Bears. Packers move back two spots and make a trade with the Steelers. I think this fills all of the Packers needs and I think they take a QB this year as I believe either Love or Rodgers will not be on the team in '23. The only one I am not sure on is Gibbs at 78. And I know you all are interested in my Bears mock!!!! This is my crazy pre draft trade with the Cardinals and Seahawks and then a draft day trade with the Falcons.
  19. I am not saying to trade Houser just that I don't think you are going to get much in terms of value back other than some lottery tickets for him. I think you get more back by trading Lauer than you do with trading Houser but still that is either a prospect deal or someone like Santander in return.

  21. I think with a Houser trade you are looking more at lottery tickets. I think the Red Sox make some sense here so something like Kavadas, Perales and Rodriguez-Cruz.

  23. No it would not. Milwaukee would still be the smallest in MLB. The biggest market without a MLB team is actually Orlando. Charlotte is also higher than Portland according to Nielsen. The Milwaukee size markets are Cincinnati, Las Vegas and Jacksonville so you got one right. Salt Lake City and San Antonio are closer to San Diego and Portland than they are to Milwaukee. Milwaukee is at 900 households and Nashville is at 1,169 and Portland is at 1,293. Las Vegas is closer to Milwaukee at 870 households. Portland has also been losing population at the sixth fastest rate in the US. If that continues Portland will be closer to Milwaukee media market wise and if Nashville's population continues to grow it will be closer to Cleveland or Sacramento which both sit around 1,500 households.
