  1. The Cubs are not going to get a haul for Bryant or Rizzo. They are both rentals and rentals don't bring back all that much anymore. If the Brewers offer is the best it would be better for the Cubs to take the better offer. There are not that many teams who need a 3B or an OF. The Dodgers, Braves, Padres, Mets, Nationals and Phillies are all set at 3B. In the AL I don't see a team that needs an OF or 3B either maybe the White Sox? I just don't see it where there will be that many teams lining up to trade for Bryant or Rizzo.
  2. If the Cubs are ready to sell Stearns has to get on the phone and get Bryant. This team is not going to go anywhere until it replaces the abysmal offense at 1B or 3B. Shaw at 1B is fine if he is being replaced by Bryant at 3B. There isn't much of an improvement at 1B available right now.
  3. Moving Shaw from 3B to 1B just means he sucks playing at 1B than him playing at 3B. Just musical chairs at this point.
  4. Vogelbach sucks but hey at least he has professional at bats every once in awhile. Would rather just stick with Hiura than let Vogelbach play another game at 1B.
  5. Shaw is looking bad. Other than a few hits and home runs he has been garbage.
  6. Right on track... Edit - Noting my original quote meant that this week we would hear how they "made it up" not "made up". I don't English good.
  7. 1B WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH SOLVD???
  8. [sarcasm]How dare you take the greatest baseball players name in vain![/sarcasm] Yuni B was a GOD tier baseball superstar!!!!!!
  9. One of the strikeouts was on a ball completely out of the strike zone. It should have been called ball 3. Probably doesn't change the outcome all that much but the umpire screwed that call up.
  10. Over the long run I will take Garcia over Taylor. Garcia's approach is just going to provide better results than Taylor's will. I like Taylor but he is a #4/5 OF. Also Garcia is the type of bat some have been clamoring for. As Garcia is not a 3TO type of a player yes he does walk a lot but he normally doesn't have high K numbers and his swing is more of a line drive swing. Urias is another who doesn't launch the ball and is more of a line drive swinger. Of the main starters Urias has the lowest launch angle at 4.3 with Yelich at 5.2 and Garcia at 7.6. Everyone after that are in the 8's or higher. Taylor is at 20.5 so another 3TO type player.
  11. Not really. Maybe in the average department he is out playing Garcia but overall I will take Garcia as he is still hitting the ball rather hard even through his slump. At some point those hard hit balls are going to become hits and Taylor will look like the 5th OF he is.
  12. If the Bucks win the next one against the Nets and then take care of business the rest of the year they will own the tie breakers against both the Nets and 76ers.
  13. I guess the draft over shadowed this but Giannis rolled his ankle last night. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/giannis-antetokounmpo-injury-update-bucks-star-heads-to-locker-room-with-apparent-ankle-injury/ Unknown timetable for his return or status at this time.
  14. Well, to be fair - had they kept those pics it would still be Pace selecting the players....so probably not that much better First round picks yeah basically the only pick he has hit on in the 1st has been Roquan Smith. Pace has actually been really good at drafting in the later rounds Jackson (4th), Cohen (4th), Montgomery (3rd) and the jury is still out on Mooney (5th) but he showed promise last year. There are a few others that I am forgetting about but Pace has been rather good drafting after the 1st round.

  16. Yes in 2018 Hader wasn't the main guy in the bullpen either. Now that Hader is in that "closer" role he is only going to come in for the 9th and maybe the 8th if they absolutely have to but I think that will happen more later in the season. Hader's value to the team is higher coming in during the 7th or 8th but Hader's value personally is higher coming in as the closer. The player compensation hasn't caught up with modern bullpen use. So we are here and the Brewers need to manage what is right for them and also what is right for Hader. I don't agree with the Hader only comes in during the 9th but it is what it is.

  18. Dalton will still be QB1 and lol Fields it is like Trubisky never left. Though I don't think Dalton will last all that long behind the Bears offensive line. Fields is a bad QB who played for a nationally ranked team that got a lot of hype. He isn't a very accurate QB and he tends to get away with things due to his athleticism. While he did complete a large percentage of his passes in college the same passes he threw in college would go for interceptions or get knocked down in the NFL. He is horrible at anticipating the defense and relies more on his athleticism than his eyes to avoid a blitz. He also telegraphs where he is going to throw the ball which in college you can get away with as you don't have a bunch of super athletic linebackers and cornerbacks. A lot of times he was going up against CB3's and backup safeties in the NFL and I am not even sure that is accurate. The best defensive team he played against in Clemson absolutely destroyed him. Basically I believe his career in the NFL will be more like what was seen against Clemson in 2019 than anything recently.

  20. Favre has nothing on Jordan. Not even close to MJ in his prime at all. Gretzky was also fun to watch. By far it is MJ, Gretzky, Bonds, and then maybe Barry Sanders. Barry is probably the only must see NFL player everyone else not so memorable.
  21. I didn't say it was a good idea just what they did and what they were thinking.
  22. The 49ers are gambling that a team will want one of those three and will give up a lot to get one. If not they will probably go OL or DL with the pick. Rumors are there that Fields is dropping like a rock and could be available in the 15-20 range. Fields is going to make a team regret drafting him. He will be as bad as Trubisky as he is a very inaccurate passer. I would actually take Trubisky's arm over Fields'.
  23. No thanks I would rather see Counsell play 3B for the Brewers than have Moustakas again.
  24. #4/#5 starters with a 3.75 ERA are pretty valuable. The last time I saw some numbers on what constitutes a league average #4/5 starter it was something around a 5.5 ERA. So if Houser is our #4/5 starter he would be considered an elite #4/5 starter if he put up an ERA of 3.75. Houser is probably closer to your average #4/5 starter and that probably puts him at about 4.5-5.0 ERA.
