  1. He puts the bat on the ball. That's a nice change. Apparently he hasn't been here long enough yet to watch the "Andy Haines Launch Angle Revolution" video. I am fairly certain you are joking but Adames is currently about two times his career norms in terms of launch angle. His career is at 12 and this year it is at 23.3.
  2. What about the Steelers? Probably not a good trading partner for Green Bay but would be a decent landing spot for Rodgers. Another option could be the Dolphins if Tua doesn't workout there. Green Bay probably wouldn't want to deal Rodgers to an NFC team but the Giants or Panthers could be possibilities also.
  3. Hopkins has already told the Cardinals he would restructure his deal to make a Jones trade happen. I think the Cardinals are probably the most likely landing spot for Jones.
  4. I believe the baseballs that MLB uses is completely different than what is used in college and high school. The way that they are prepared is completely different than what you see in high school and college. This is what makes the balls slicker in MLB compared to what is used in high school and college. I believe the ball is also prepared differently in the independent leagues though I think MLB has been giving them some of their balls as these leagues have become testing grounds for MLB to implement some rule changes (pitch clock, moving the mound back, etc.). If you watch pitchers especially ones that don't use the current substances they will rub the ball to remove some of the substances that MLB puts on the balls to get a better grip on the ball. MLB just needs to figure out which substances to approve and which ones to remove from the game and it should help both the pitchers and batters. The sunscreen substance is probably the hardest one to regulate as all players are more than likely wearing sunscreen so you can't really tell someone to not wear sunscreen. If MLB told players they can't wear sunscreen the MLBPA would just sue and they would win as it is a health issue. That rule wouldn't last for more than a day if they did that.
  5. There is a supply chain issue with semiconductors that started around the beginning of the pandemic. The automakers during the beginning of the pandemic reduced their orders of semiconductors while the consumer electronics industry increased. What happened after the first few months the auto industry had to pivot and reorder and order more semiconductors causing an increase in demand. Intel seems to be the only company not hit by the supply chain shortage as they manufacture all of their chips unlike other companies in the semiconductor industry. It was kind of a perfect storm that hit for electronic devices between the trade war and the pandemic. Normal supply probably would have been disrupted anyways with or without the pandemic. Probably wouldn't have been as bad as it is now which doesn't look like the shortage is going to go away until at least 2022 or later. Supply should be back to normal around mid 2023 is the current guess.
  6. For the substances some are approved by MLB as there has always been this unwritten rule that pitchers can use some substances to be able to grip the ball better. This is good for the batter in terms of the pitcher is able to accurately throw the pitch you don't really want a pitcher who could possibly hit you in the head at some point as they are not able to control where they are throwing the pitch. The one rule that the pitcher has to follow is to not doctor the ball or change the ball in any way and I believe pine tar is also banned as a substance for pitchers. Pitchers are allowed to get more moisture on their hands but are supposed to wipe it down which is why in the past you would see pitchers lick their fingers and then touch their jersey. The rosin bag on the mound is also a substance that allows the pitcher to get more control of the ball. I think MLB just needs to define what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Mixing rosin and sunscreen which is probably the most effective of all of the ones out there should probably be banned as it is giving pitchers an unfair advantage in the spin rate on the ball along with better accuracy. If it was just better accuracy I don't believe there would be as much of an uproar over it.
  7. Except that isn't the issue at all. The umpires have been missing clear balls and strikes. They have been really bad this season as these are not pitches that are just missing by a little bit and are borderline balls or strikes. The pitches that they are missing are completely out of the strike zone or completely in it. These pitches are completely missing the strike zone by more than one or two inches. It is clear they are balls or strikes you don't even need to zoom in to see this. Putting in robot umps to call balls and strikes will benefit the hitters as it will be a far more clearer strike zone for the batter. They won't have to guess if the umpire is going to give a pitcher three to four inches out of the zone. This will also benefit pitchers where the catcher gets crossed up and the pitch is still a strike but the catcher caught it outside of where they set up. Also batters get fooled by pitches and think they are strikes and swing the same happens to umpires they get fooled by a pitch and incorrectly call it a ball or a strike. I am not sure why anyone is against this. It helps clean up the game and makes it more balanced but I guess everyone loves the human error experience.
  8. The Brewers don't really need another OF.
  9. Not sure how anyone can be against robot umps calling balls and strikes after watching the umpires this year attempting to figure out what the strike zone actually is.
  10. Ugggg Vogelbach and Shaw as the 4 and 5 hitters is basically a black hole.
  11. The umpires are also now worse at calling balls and strikes. The number of bad calls in the strike zone being called balls and pitches completely out of the strike zone being called strikes is alarming. The robot umps at least for calling balls and strikes needs to come immediately and I don't care if the umpires strike over this they can leave if they don't want this.
  12. Jrue and Middleton with the save!
  13. Thank God for Middleton there!
  14. Giannis poor free throw shooting is going to sink this team.
  15. Giannis still sucking at free throws come on already!
  16. I am fine with that but the Brewers probably not. Maybe something like Small, Lindblom, Lazar and Bradley for Donaldson and $5m. That gets it rather close and the Twins still get two decent prospects in Small and Lazar. Probably not the best idea to spend that much on an aging and injury prone Donaldson but at least he will provide some offense at 3B or 1B or DH if that becomes a thing in the NL.
  17. I would pick up all of Donaldson's contract if it means the Brewers have to give up less in prospects.
  18. Have been listening to Morgan Wade a bit lately.
  19. I bought more ethereum when it dipped to 1860. I am still up from when I bought so I am good. I also bought some Cardano but timed it wrong and bought at 1.68. Missed the bottom by about 45 minutes late stupid emergency meeting at work cost me about $2500. Oh well I'll just hold this one for longer than I wanted to originally.
  20. Because it’s a position of depth. Not really. Replacing Garcia with Taylor would be a net negative unless you are adding someone like Trout.
  21. I just think the Jazz are an easier team to beat for the Lakers than the Suns are. The Lakers could easily eliminate both and if I am the Jazz or the Suns I would prefer the Warriors or Spurs over the Lakers or the Grizzlies. The Clippers maybe the toughest team the Lakers would have to face in the West. Preferably if you are the Lakers you would rather play the Nuggets in the 2nd round than the Clippers. The best 4 vs 5 matchup is in the West with the Clippers vs the Mavericks though the Knicks and the Hawks looks to be interesting. It would be comical if the Lakers and the Celtics both get eliminated from the play in games.
  22. Yeah but it's double elimination for the Lakers and Warriors, doubt either losses twice If I am the Lakers I am losing that game so I don't have to play the Suns. If I am the Lakers I would rather play the Jazz than the Suns. It would be an extra game they would have to play but I think a series against the Jazz would be preferable than versus the Suns.
  23. I wouldn't be surprised by an upset. The Heat were not a team I wanted to see versus the Bucks. While the addition by subtraction of Bledsoe helps the Heat still create some challenging match ups for the Bucks. This one might go 7.
  24. Arcia has had hot streaks where he looks really good but then he just drops off for a couple of months.
  25. Sano is not an upgrade even from Hiura. Three slash lines and tell me which one would you want to be playing 1B: .135 / .297 / .257 .152 / .247 / .266 .223 / .357 / .396 Cron from the Rockies would be a good pickup. Kepler I don't think would be made available and Culberson is just a guy on a hot streak not sure I would even give anything of value for him. Of the players that you listed Cron would be the only player that would bring a positive to the offense. Story is going to cost way too much and I would rather trade for someone who has more than a half season of control and then they will be gone. Someone like Trea Turner would be the ideal player to trade for but I doubt he will be made available. Improvements to the offense would probably have to come at 1B and 3B. One is probably just a platoon at 1B and the other a starter at 3B. If the Brewers could some how swing a trade with the Cubs for Bryant that would be the biggest move the Brewers could do to improve 3B offensively and defensively. At 1B the best option would be Cron or Aguilar. Both shouldn't cost all that much in terms of prospects.
