  1. I think the best option would be to just play the first month of the season at the spring training facilities and rearrange the schedule so the teams stay in one state. I doubt the owners will do this as this is a huge revenue loss for them though less than cancelling the first month of the season.
  2. It looks like MLB is considering delaying the start of the season or at least considering their options. https://theathletic.com/1671443/2020/03/12/rosenthal-baseball-faces-many-questions-as-it-deals-with-coronavirus?source=shared-article
  3. Now all NCAA tournament games will be played with no fans. I don't think I am going to watch as many games. It just doesn't have that feeling of a game. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/2020-ncaa-tournament-games-to-be-played-without-fans-in-attendance-due-to-threat-of-coronavirus/
  4. So any games played in Cleveland or Dayton will have no fans at the game.
  5. [sarcasm]Wonder if the pirates has a matching contribution[/sarcasm] On a serious note I believe the 401k is managed by the MLBPA or that could be the pension. About 10-years ago I was working with a company that manages the enrollment and other various administrative jobs for that plan. Can't remember if it was the pension or if it was the 401k though.
  6. MLBPA dues are $85 a day. https://www.mlbplayers.com/faq
  7. Looks like they have sent an email out today on this: I am in the Fox Sports Arizona I believe it is region.
  8. To me the Corona Virus is a minor concern. The change from LIBOR to the new system(s) is what is worrying me. LIBOR is ending by 2022 and the financial institutions are not liking the new system that they will be changing to. A few links about LIBOR: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-libor-transition-analysis-idUSKBN1WN0H4 https://www.americanbanker.com/news/is-the-end-of-libor-a-threat-to-financial-stability
  9. [sarcasm]Why are you so cheap?[/sarcasm]
  10. I don't think he will last until the 2nd round he will definitely go in the 1st round but it will probably be late. He should really be a top 15 player but he will go somewhere in the 20-28 range. Very few draft analysts even have him as the number 1 running back and I don't think I have seen him mocked in the first round anywhere in the last month I thought I saw on ESPN or the NFL Network with Taylor going to the Titans in the first round. I was at a bar so memory is a little fuzzy on that.
  11. This team is just ridiculous. No Middleton tonight and they are just blowing out the Thunder.
  12. I still believe Cephus is a 4th-5th rounder. He could sneak into the 3rd round if a team falls in love with him but I always thought his ceiling was a 3rd rounder but I don't think he gets drafted in the 3rd a team would have to fall in love with him. I wouldn't be surprised with the Patriots taking Cephus and him having a great 3-4 year run with them.
  13. Everything right now. The biggest impact the corona virus will have is on manufacturing. Also if it isn't contained or it spreads more than it has you will start to see the travel industry take a hit. If that does happen I would book your international travel then. You can already see the travel industry getting hit with companies suspending international travel. The company I work for sent out an email today about suspending international travel and restricting business travel in Europe and no business travel to Asia. There are some predictions of companies not making a profit this year though I think that is way too early to even predict that we haven't even completed the 1st quarter of the year yet. If the corona virus is still a serious issue come April or May then yeah it is time to panic about profits.
  14. I don't think he will last until the 2nd round he will definitely go in the 1st round but it will probably be late. He should really be a top 15 player but he will go somewhere in the 20-28 range.
  15. Well that was a close game for a bit.......
  16. Peralta on why he signed the extension. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2020/2/28/21158082/i-made-the-decision-for-myself-and-my-family-freddy-peralta-reacts-after-signing-extension We saw this with Acuna and Albies last year when they signed with the Braves. I wonder if there will be more early signings with the international players and locking in a guaranteed contract earlier in their career rather than waiting for free agency or going through arbitration.
  17. Only about .06 slower than Michael Irvin. I believe 40 times are overrated as it doesn't really translate all that well to the football field. I would be more interested on how well someone runs with pads on and it is impossible to tell how fast someone is going to run with pads on from a 40 time. A player that runs a 4.7 in a 40 without pads will run at about 4.9 with pads on while a player who runs a 4.3 or a 4.2 without pads may run at 4.6 or 4.7 with pads on. There is even cases where a player who runs a 4.6 or 4.7 without pads runs the same with pads on. To me the 40 times are useless as it doesn't really tell you all that much about the player and what they can do on the field. If this were track then yeah the 40 times matter but this is football not track.
  18. Cats are the spawn of the devil!
  19. Beal is basically the Wizards whole team. Without him they are the worst team in the NBA and it is not even close. Remove Beal from the Wizards and I truly believe they are a 10-15 win team. Beal is also quietly one of the best players in the league he is just stuck on a really bad team.
  20. The Bucks earned a playoff spot with a Wizards loss today. That is the earliest an NBA team has ever done it. https://wtmj.com/news/2020/02/23/bucks-earn-playoff-spot-after-wizards-loss-earliest-time-in-nba-history/
  21. It really is somewhat puzzling to me that any point-of-sale retailers still take personal checks in this age of digital money. "I'll take this piece of paper from you and will wait to find out if you actually have the money to pay me in a few days after you're long gone!" Restaurants stopped years ago. I understand things like the electric company and such, but not retailers. Have to wait for the Boomers to die off first.
  22. I don't see the Blue Jays trading away Biggio who is a part of that future for Hader. Would need to add something more than Arcia for them to trade Biggio in that deal probably something like Hiura and Hader.
  23. Ovechkin has 700 goals now, does he even have a chance to catch Gretzky? I don't think he will but he could catch either Jagr or Hull. If he plays for 5 more years and averages 30 goals a season he would pass Howe and would be about 40 behind Gretzky. To catch Gretzky he would have to play at least 5 more years and score 40 goals per season. I don't think that is do able.
  24. I just can't take this list seriously with Erceg at #24. Players I would put ahead of Erceg are Feyereisen, Taylor, Ward, Bello, Medina, File, Dillard, Bennett, Cipion, Eduarqui Fernandez, Ernesto Martinez, Coca, Pablo Abreu, Zhao, Larry Ernesto and Segovia.
