  1. Definitely need to see him throwing off the mound before any time table can be set for his return but I am going to go with late August or early September for Nelson's return.
  2. Some of the Clone Wars cartoon series is canon. Not all of it was thrown out as some of its characters have become part of the canon. Rebels is also considered canon which has a few characters from the Clone Wars series. Ahsoka Tano is thought to be considered canon now would be interesting if they work her into the Obi-Wan spinoff. If you have watched Rebels a Disney product you will know what I am talking about here with Obi-Wan and the villain from Solo.
  3. I wouldn't call this pick a re-selecting of Rashad Vaughn. Vaughn was more raw compared to DiVincenzo. I think a more comparable comp is Brogdon. DiVincenzo can drive a little and can spot up and shot 3's. As for players leaving early after their freshman year they are more than likely going to go play in Europe or in China and still get paid. They won't get paid as much as if they were in the NBA but they will still get paid more than staying in college for another year. I wouldn't suggest a player to do this but I can see why some would do this.
  4. This is kind of the problem really and the way that Lucas and Disney responded to this backlash basically pissed off all of the fans who had valid gripes on the series. Instead of saying "hey we hear your complaints about The Last Jedi, we are going to try and make the next Star Wars a great experience. Thank you for you concerns." They instead not sure if it was intentional went after all of the fans and basically said hey you are all racists and we don't care about your concerns. This then continued with the reviews from the trailer of Solo. After a few negative reviews came out they basically doubled down on this stance and the backlash continued from the fans. This is going to be an interesting case study on how to not manage your social media presence and your marketing. It is interesting how Disney and Lucas have somehow killed something that should have been a cash cow for them.
  5. I have watched Profar play and his defense is not average at SS, he is not Villar bad at SS but he is not average either. At 2B he grades out to be similar to what Villar is this year. It is basically a wash replacing Villar with Profar and only a slight improvement over Arcia at SS.
  6. This might be the whiskey talking but what about....... Braves receive: Santana Davies Brewers receive: Touki Toussaint (RHP) William Contreras © Kyle Muller (LHP) Cristian Pache (OF) Probably selling low on Santana and Davies here and this is probably an off season deal more so than a deadline or in season trade. I like Contreras and Muller the most. Toussaint is the big name but I think he probably slides into the bullpen more so than he is a starter. Pache is more of a defensive OF with a plus arm and plus speed. He bats like Ichiro where he starts to run as he is hitting so not much power in his swing. Pache could definitely hit for power if his swing can be fixed. Very raw offensively.
  7. I like the pick. Not the best player talent wise but he fits the type of a player that Budenholzer likes.
  8. I agree with the amount of information coming from the Brewers about this it is probably likely Nelson won't be pitching for the Brewers this year if he isn't 100% ready. It is concerning that he hasn't been throwing off of the mound yet. If Nelson were to be coming back after the all star break then he needs to be throwing off the mound soon and getting that simulated game in. If the Brewers want at least one rehab start that will also have to happen soon.
  9. I don't get the Whiteside love.
  10. Yeah the ownership in Baltimore is rather dumb.
  11. Instead of actual real estate not sure if you are suggesting that but an REIT also works. There are other tax implications for REIT and other real estate investments. Should really talk to a tax accountant first before talking to a FA IMHO.
  12. The dividends could be taxed at 0% depending on your tax bracket. https://www.corporatemonkeycpa.com/2018/02/22/taxes-on-dividends-and-capital-gains-under-the-tax-cuts-jobs-act/ Another option other than an FA could be a CPA if you want to go that route. Finding a good FA is hard as there are so many of them I suggest getting to know one and feeling them out if they are going to be a good fit. If you want to start looking on your own I would suggest asking an accountant as you should be asking them a few things about taxes also. You could be paying 0% on your dividends.
  13. You need to forget about timing the market that is mostly a short-term investment thing. If you are only going to keep the money in for 1-3 years then yes you want to time the market for certain stocks and sectors. There are stocks that perform very well in a bear market but perform very poorly in a bull market. If you are investing long-term I would go with whatever makes you comfortable in investing in. If you are not comfortable in investing in foreign companies then don't do it. I would definitely use Vanguard or any other company like Vanguard for this type of an investment. Personally I don't like FA's as they normally just take advantage of people who know very little of the market and throw big words around to get a sale. I would go 70% domestic, 20% international, 5% precious metals and 5% bonds/cash. Bonds should only be invested in when you are closer to retirement if you are not over the age of 50 then there is no reason to have 10% of your assets being taken up by bonds. You are just wasting earning potential with the money just sitting in bonds.
  14. Definitely a steep price but it is far less than what the Orioles would be expecting for the return for Machado. Giving up Woodruff and Peralta would hurt but if you said this would be the package it would take to get Machado last year it would have been laughed at even during the off season. I believe the Orioles are looking for more but I just don't see a team out there that is going to give up more than one top 75-100 type prospect for Machado.
  15. If Angelos will allow for Machado to be traded I believe the Brewers are the front runner at this point. Woodruff, Peralta, and Ray maybe enough to get Machado. The teams that I think that would be in on Machado are the Braves, Dodgers, and the Brewers. I don't see another team that needs either a SS or a 3B like the Brewers, Braves, and the Dodgers do. The Braves could swoop in and get Machado but I don't think they will offer more than one of their young starting pitchers and if the Orioles want multiple they are going to have to look else where. I believe the Braves will only offer Toussaint and Minter in a deal and will not part with Soroka, Allard, Anderson, or Gohara for Machado. If Machado had more years of control I could definitely see the Braves offering one or more from that list for Machado but since he is just a rental I don't see the Braves giving up any of those prospects for Machado. The Braves are the real competition the Brewers have for Machado. I think the Braves could do better long term if they trade one of their pitching prospects for a bat that has a lot of control left.
  16. Yes he can. https://www.sbnation.com/2010/5/29/1492891/bill-hall-pitches-scoreless-inning-history-non-pitchers-red-sox-vs-royals
  17. I'm guessing Baltimore is going to hang on to him a while so that he can prove he's healthy. If he's lights out, the price will certainly go up. But right now, I doubt Britton costs too much since he's making $12M and coming off an injury. Take on his remaining salary and perhaps you don't have to give up too much. Yeah I don't expect Baltimore to move Britton anytime soon and his value could be sky high or it could be nothing at all. I would still be interested in him no matter what as he could fill in as a lefty only worst case scenario.
  18. Britton just came back from his injury. It wouldn't hurt to get another lefty in the pen. Price tag is unknown right now.
  19. https://brewers.mlblogs.com/opening-day-entrances-at-bat-walk-up-music-5d5390bab30d So that means it is either: or
  20. I like Childress here or Blaze Alexander because of his name.
  21. Unlikely, the Brewers wouldn't have drafted him if they thought he wouldn't sign. The Brewers also lose all of the money if they don't sign him and can't allocate it to anyone else.
  22. Sure but I don't think the Astros would do that trade.
  23. Podcast with Khris Middleton talking about Celtics series, Sterling Brown, Giannis, and other random things. Starts at about 19:30 mark. https://player.fm/series/mickstape-1542578
  24. I am pretty sure they still have a trial try that first before fully committing.
