  1. Undrafted players would be free agents which I believe would not fall under any of the rules for the draft as they were not drafted. Just my opinion on the subject not sure there is anything in the new CBA about undrafted players.
  2. If we trade him prior to next season, the receiving team would get comp picks for him. Getting Hart for a playoff run and then getting an extra 1st rounder and sandwich pick is worth quite a bit. We may just hold him for the picks, but we're probably not going to the playoffs next year and we could use some upper-minors prospects, so I'd trade him. Melvin was apparently offered Daniel Hudson for one year of Prince. If I recall correctly, Beckham's name was being thrown around as well, but he insisted on getting two top-of-the-rotation guys with some MLB experience, which is a steep price for anyone, and there aren't many teams who want to pick up a one-year player who can also trade away 2/5 of their starting rotation. I also believe he was offered one of the Braves' young pitchers (Beachy?) for Hart when he was going to be a free agent before signing him to the extension, and I don't remember which one (Fielder or Hart) was involved in when Matt Cain was rumored to be dangled to the Brewers. When he couldn't get two young, MLB-proven starting pitchers for Prince, he extended Hart and traded our farm system for two years of Grienke and Marcum and a shot at the World Series, leading us to where we are now. I'm not expecting two aces for Hart, I'd be happy with something like Delgado from the Braves who have too many young pitchers and may like Hart's bat for a playoff run or two. It wasn't one year of Prince it was 1.5 years of Prince and Beckham never was a real consideration as I do not see Williams parting with him. I am sorry but for 1.5 years of Prince Hudson was not enough of a return and Williams knew this and just low balled Melvin as the White Sox were really the only team that were interested in trading for Prince. Also Cain has never been linked to real rumors for Hart. It has always been Fielder for Cain I am not sure where this started that it was rumored Hart for Cain as the Giants have only been mentioned in talks about trading for Hart and the pitcher was not Cain it was Sanchez. There were rumors about the Braves wanting Hart but they were not going to be giving up Beachy for him. I believe it was someone of lesser value than Beachy that was being talked about. I know a lot of people here wanted Beachy or Delgado for Hart but I don't believe there was ever any solid rumor about Hart for Beachy. If Melvin could get the Braves to part with Delgado for Hart I believe he would do that deal instantly. I don't see the Braves giving up on someone like Delgado for Hart. If the Phillies were playing better they would be a team I would peg as someone interested in Hart. The Red Sox would be another team that would be interested in Hart. But here is the problem with both the Phillies and the Red Sox they both have spring training camps in Florida and I believe Harts limited no trade clause blocks any trade to any team that have their spring training facilities in Florida. That limited no trade clause which basically eliminates the entire NL and AL east along with some AL central and NL central teams kind of kills some of Harts trade value. If you want to look at comparables for Hart in terms of a trade look at the Beltran deal last year and the Hunter Pence deal about 2-years ago. Hart's value in the trade market falls somewhere between those two trades.
  3. I am not sure there are any decent free agents this coming off season. There are going to be a few players who are probably going to cost way more than they are worth Erick Aybar comes to mind here and Josh Hamilton will probably not be healthy for the majority of his contract that he signs and B.J. Upton is another player like Aybar who I believe is going to get paid more than he is worth. Both Greinke and Hamels will probably be out of the price range for the Brewers though I am not sure about Greinke but Hamels will definitely be out of the Brewers price range. Greinke is very interesting this off season as I don't see the big market clubs going after him. I don't see the Red Sox going after Greinke and I don't think the Yankees will have interest either as they have some young starters that they can put into the rotation next year and if Hughes continues to pitch well the Yankees will have their rotation set. I just don't see the Yankees giving out another big contract to a pitcher as they already have Sabathia as their ace and already have some good #3, 4, and 5 pitchers. If healthy Pineda is a cheaper #2 that they can go with over Greinke. The Orioles are probably the biggest threat to signing Greinke and I also don't see the Cubs going after Greinke as they are not even close to being ready yet. If Greinke were a FA and the Cubs were already in year 3 or 4 of the rebuilding phase then yeah I believe the Cubs would be a strong contender for Greinke but not right now. I still believe the Rangers are going to go hard after Greinke especially with Holland going down recently and if Feliz or Holland are not able to return to the rotation there is going to be an extreme need for the Rangers to go out and get someone like Greinke.
  4. Possible but probably not likely. Though if they believe Hardy is going to be there for the long-term they could possibly trade Machado but I am not certain they will.
  5. Why do the Brewers take so many first pitch down the middle fastball pitches?
  6. Wasn't that just a balk right there? He went forward towards home and then went back to 2b. Or at least that is what I thought I saw.
  7. Wow that was one awesome AB by Morgan there. Hopefully he starts to turn it around as it makes the bench a little bit better.
  8. I don't get it. How can Peralta have such poor results with a 2.53 gb to ao ratio. Is the defense at AAA that bad?
  9. It looks like Aramis tweaked something. Aramis really should be DH'g the next couple of series. He just doesn't look all that healthy right now.
  10. Is that clutch or just luck there? I don't care I will take it!
  11. I didn't even see him sending him it looked like Braun was going no matter what.
  12. Sigh another good player gone that is really affordable. I wish the Brewers would take some chances on guys like this. Someone like Soler would look real nice and even someone like Yoenis Cespedes would have been a good contract for the Brewers. It seems as though the Cuban and other Latin America players have come down a lot in price while the big stars in Japan are still very high. The Brewers should really be taking advantage of this opportunity as these players are coming in at slightly lower prices than in the past. Cespedes would look rather good in RF for the Brewers right now. The recent contracts even Chapman's contract have been rather team friendly and under what you would have to pay for someone on the current FA market given the same skill set.
  13. Yes his trade value does go up but then it comes right back down. Hart has a limited no trade clause and he can block deals to 15 clubs. I believe all of the 15 clubs Hart can block a trade to are teams that have their spring training facilities in Florida. That limited no trade clause brings Hart's value down a lot as it limits the teams he can go to unless Hart waives his no trade clause and I highly doubt he will.
  14. I don't see much wrong with this lineup at all. The only problem I have is Maldonado taking up a roster spot but hopefully Lucroy can get healthy soon so that can be corrected. Right now there is very little difference between Gomez and Morgan this year. I don't mind Gomez getting the start here and he is batting where he should be when Chad Moeller with better defense is in the lineup. I don't see anyone else who I would want hitting 5th. This is the probably the best lineup that can be made other than taking Chad Moeller with better defense out of the lineup and using Kottaras at catcher.
  15. Or a more logical reason is that Morgan has been playing very sloppy baseball and is still in the doghouse for what happened in the Arizona series.
  16. Wow what a big mess and she is probably not going to like this but she is responsible for 100% of what is owed on the loan as she is also a signer on the note. It doesn't matter who was assigned to get the insurance as both parties are named on the note. Since both parties are named on the note both parties are responsible for getting insurance on the vehicle and therefore she is responsible for the note. The best percentage that could possibly get her off of the note would be paying her share of the debt which would be 50% and as MJLiverock pointed out the collection agency is probably not going to be able to change anything on the note. Even with the 50% it may not even be possible for her name to be dropped off she may have to pay off the vehicle entirely in order for this to go away. There maybe some legal things she could get done in a small claims court but she would still be responsible for the loan for at least 50% of what is owed minus any payments she made herself (if from a joint checking account it would be paid on both parties behalf) or were made on her behalf (parents, friends, joint checking account, etc.). I am not a lawyer so I am not sure this would be something that can or can not be done. Taking the other party to court to pay their share of the loan would not get her off the loan but it may help in paying off the note in terms of who is to pay what. This you could then take to the original note holder and they may then take her name off the note once her portion according to the legal settlement is paid off. Again not a lawyer so this may or may not be something that can be done.
  17. Anyone else kind of disappointed on how Game of Thrones ended this season? I love the show this season again but I was not happy with the way it ended this season.
  18. I can't wait for Lucroy to come back so Maldonaldo can go back down to AAA. His defense is great but man is he a horrible hitter. I think he is worse than past Brewers back up catchers.
  19. I don't think you can take what happened last year and correlate it with what happened this year. Yes the Brewers drafted heavy in terms of bats but it may have just fell that way. The Brewers may have saw that the players they drafted were the BPA on their board. Not to say that they truly were the BPA talent wise but you have to remember teams are still drafting both on talent and signability. I don't believe the signability is ever going to go away in the MLB draft no matter what MLB does to try and correct this.
  20. 1. Because the team wants to either make the playoffs or make a push in the playoffs. A team may also see that Marcum is someone that they want to be their #3 starter for the playoff run. I could see the Dodgers, Rangers, Angels, Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, White Sox, and the Tigers all being in on Marcum. There will probably be more teams interested in trading for Marcum than there will be for Greinke. 2. Yes they could but are these major league talent pitchers or position players? Is the major league talent better than Marcum right now? There is a lot of questions that would need to be answered before anyone could even answer your second question. I believe Marcum is going to be the one that gets traded as he will bring in enough value to trade him away. The team holding onto a potential rental still has an advantage in they could just keep the player and take the draft picks. I am not sure the Brewers should do this with Marcum as it is a very risky move to do. I still like the Dodgers as a favorite for getting Marcum in a trade and I also like the Yankees as a possible fit. I wonder if the Giants would trade Pablo Sandoval for Corey Hart? It looks as though Sandoval maybe working his way out of the Giants organization. I know the Giants OF is rather crowded but Hart would be a major improvement over Schierholtz and Blanco. Sandoval would give the Brewers a 1B this year and for the next few years. It will also give the Brewers a deeper bench in 2013 with Gamel possibly being able to be moved to the OF. I don't believe the Giants will do this but if Sandoval comes out sluggish when he returns from the DL I could see the Giants trying to find a trade for Sandoval.
