  1. Even with a rate cut mortgage rates won’t be coming down. Mortgage rates probably won’t decrease until about a year after the first rate cut maybe even longer. The housing industry right now even at a high rate is still extremely healthy. There really isn’t any incentive for banks to lower rates even with a rate cut.
  2. I doubt they hike but I still believe they will stay where the rates are at right now. A rate hike should only happen if inflation rises overly high.
  3. I am going to laugh a lot from all the crying if it is a Packers home game. The tears will be glorious!!!!!
  4. That is not how pricing works. It is all based on supply and demand. In order to get a reduction past or equal to the increase demand would need to meet supply at that price point. It is not greed it is just what the market is willing to pay. If the market is not willing to pay at the prices then prices tend to go down. The Brewers just like any other business needs to maximize revenue.
  5. This!!!!! If the Fed does drop rates it is not going to have a good impact on the middle and lower class. A rate cut is going to help the upper class and big businesses far more than it will help everyone else. An up tick in inflation doesn't hurt the upper class as much as it does the middle and lower class. Cutting interest rates now will bring the inflation rate above what anyone should be comfortable with. We also need to keep in consideration that the SPR is also not going to be refilled which is going to artificially keep oil down well somewhat. OPEC will also keep supply down as they will be reducing production. So oil should flatten and maybe increase to where it should be if the SPR were to be refilled. We are coming up on travel season real quick here. I think we may see an increase in inflation around June and I think the Fed will be too scared to raise rates and instead of cutting will just do nothing. If the Fed raises rates in June you will have the far leftists screaming election interference by the Fed and if the Fed lowers rates the right will also be screaming election interference by the Fed. I think this is another point where the Fed just does nothing especially if the economic indicators are telling them to increase rates or to lower rates. Actually I don't think there will be a case for lowering rates as inflation is still not at the point the Fed wants them to be and consumer spending is still very healthy along with positive job growth that the Fed is looking at. I think they will just stand pat regardless of what is being said.
  6. But did they enter the transfer because of NIL money (I doubt there is much of that for hockey) or for other reasons? If they left for other reasons it just opens up slots for someone else to come in. I don't see this as that big of a deal.
  7. Powell is just one person and he doesn't decide if there will be a cut or rate increase the board of governors do when they vote on this. The majority of the board of governors are saying no cuts if the economy stays the way it is.
  8. Probably because you are part of Seattle's market.
  9. Would be better to just go with cloud servers as they can scale up and down depending on demand. A lot of companies are going away from physical servers (on premise) to the cloud servers.
  10. I would bet on Rutschman signing an extension. Probably something higher than what Posey and Mauer got. With the new Orioles ownership I think this will be something they will push for. Something around 10/$230mm for Rutschman sounds about right and what I would expect the new ownership group in Baltimore would be willing to do. I don't think Contreras will get anywhere close to that. Probably something closer to what his brother signed for would be my guess. I think Contreras has more to risk by not signing an extension as you can't get injured in a lot of different ways and in far more ways than any other player on the team. Catchers get injured it happens and their bodies breakdown a lot faster than other positional players. Catching is far more demanding on the body than playing any other position on the field. It would be wise for Contreras to at least seek out an extension before he hits FA.
  11. I don't think the NIL/transfer portal are as much of a problem as some are making it out to be. The majority of these transfers have been players who would normally transfer anyways. The only real difference is they get to play a year earlier. I don't see a real or major problem here. Until multiple superstar level athletes start to leave programs on a yearly basis I won't see this as an issue. How many big names have made a transfer recently that would majorly change the team they are leaving from and going to? I doubt it is larger than a handful.
  12. They are however don't expect a rate cut any time soon. Inflation is still too high for a few of the governors and the job market and spending look to be all healthy. If anything I think the Fed will just hold its course and won't increase or decrease the rates this year. I still believe the Fed will hold and won't decrease rates until Q4 2024 or Q1 2025. If spending and the job market stay where they have been I don't see the Fed doing much of anything but if inflation starts to creep back up again I fully expect a rate increase to happen again.
  13. Would the Marlins trade Sandy Alcantara? He won't be able to pitch again until 2025 due to TJ surgery. Wouldn't be a bad move by the Brewers as they could have Peralta, Woodruff and Alcantara at the top of the rotation. I am not sure the Marlins would trade Alcantara and the price maybe more than what would be worth the risk.
  14. I believe WPA is a better stat to use than WAR for pitching. I believe it correlates better than WAR does at least for pitchers on determining who is having a good season.
  15. Patriots want 3+ 1st round picks to move off of #3. Like I have said previously the Vikings won’t be able to get the #3 pick without giving up more than what the Bears received for the #1 pick last year. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10115678-nfl-draft-rumors-patriots-seek-more-than-3-1st-round-picks-to-trade-down-from-no-3
  16. The end of the bench type players in the NBA are filled with a lot of bad players. The Bucks are paying Thanasis about $2m to sit at the end of the bench. TyTy Washington is making about $500k to be a 2-way player that is basically what I think Storr is at contract wise in the NBA.
  17. Blue text means sarcasm on this board. That wasn’t a serious statement.
  18. Hoop lowered plus making the court a little bit shorter length wise would make the game play a bit faster. It would be closer to the Men's play if they did that. My main criticism of women's basketball is that it is played so slowly compared to men's basketball. It is like time traveling back to the 1920's and watching that type of basketball now. It is extremely boring to watch. There is just not enough explosive plays and the pace is played so slowly. I truly believe lowering the hoop and shortening the length of the court by a few feet should make the game more watchable on the women's side.
  19. BLASPHEMY! Billy Madison is only second to Happy Gilmore for Adam Sandler movies!
  20. Progress stops for no one. They can also ask one of the attendants to do it for them if they don’t have a smart phone. Plus senior people shouldn’t be driving anyways.
  21. Not sure what is so confusing but from the MJS link:
  22. Some very poor PA’s by Frelick today.
  23. Peralta looked much more calmer starting today. He wasn’t overly amped up like he usually is for the first two or three innings. Hopefully this is the Peralta we see all season long!
  24. Tunein also allows you to stream MLB games. It is $3.99 a month or $2.99 a month if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber. I used that app in the past and it was OK quality wise. They used to have the NFL which was an awesome deal in the past where you could get NHL, MLB and NFL all for $4 a month. The MLB At Bat app is a better app for Radio IMHO.
