  1. Your buckets don't make any logical sense that is why. This is not to pick on you just that your hypothesis is faulty because of your buckets. You are making them lean to where you want them to lean. To make it more logical if you move the buckets it actually makes your hypothesis a bit stronger. Though what you are suggesting basically puts you at the same conclusion as sveumrules. Regardless of the highs and lows the middle numbers are about on par with the others you are comparing them to. Only two teams in your list out rank them and the others are within the margin of error.
  2. -72.3 career total Def for Hoskins and -65.2 for Alonso. Both suck but Hoskins sucks more.
  3. LOL not surprised Ham was canned. He was never going to be able to get a team that fit him with Lebron in LA.
  4. If you are going to do that then you need to change the middle to 4-5 and high be 6+ otherwise your curve is not going to match your high and low.
  5. Not sure what resigning anyone the Brewers trade for even matters. Hoskins is a horrible 1B and probably will go in the IL again at some point this season. Hoskins is basically the DH for the Brewers when Yelich or Contreras don't need a day off. Alonso is also a far better 1B than Hoskins is right now and you don't have the injury concern with Alonso like you have with Hoskins. Hoskins is a DH not a 1B. The money is not a problem. Mark A has said he would increase the payroll if needed in the past. So I don't see that as being a problem.
  6. That one has rallied also recently. Yes I know it was a good meme stock in 2020 but now not so much. It is so over priced right now compared to its financials. If anyone is in it I would suggest to get out and take your gains or minimize your losses as soon as possible. That stock should be trading below $5 a share. It's revenue just doesn't support the $40 it is currently at.
  7. It is probably another year where the Brewers are rumored to be interested in Joc Pederson just saying. He is having a really good year with the Dbacks though he is mostly a DH now. I would put Tyler O'Neill as another possibility but he is always injured and is currently on and off the IL nearly every month. I have mentioned Kikuchi before and I still think he would be a solid target if Toronto makes him available which they should. Another Dback that I am not really fond of is Christian Walker who maybe available if the Dbacks continue to flounder. I have mentioned Alonso before. If the Brewers get aggressive I think they could get him early before anyone else gets on him. I would do a Frelick, Bauers and a minor prospect for him or something like Brown/Lara, Bauers and a lower end prospect. I think Alonso would allow the Brewers to put Adames at 5 and then Hoskins at 6. Turang, Contreras, Yelich, Alonso, Adames and then Hoskins would be a really good 1-6. You could even substitute Ortiz in for Turang.
  8. What is more alarming the Brewers only scoring 2 runs against the Phillies best pitchers or the Phillies only scoring 7 runs against the Brewers worst starting pitchers? I think it is the Phillies being the biggest worry here. They only scored 4 runs against some really poor starting pitching. The other 3 runs were scored off the Brewers bullpen. The Phillies offense scored 0 runs off of Rea and only scored 2 runs off of Ashby and Wilson each. The Phillies offense looked just as bad if not worse than the Brewers offense in this 3-game series against worse pitching.
  9. I believe they will be having a stock split on Friday for 10-1. But I don't think that is what is driving the price going up. Well it is driving it just not the primary reason.
  10. I don’t see the Marlins having any interest in Turang or Ortiz. This also doesn’t make any sense for the Brewers. This is just digging in the hole you are to fill in the hole you are in.
  11. No. I don’t see the Marlins accepting that. Wiemer and Mitchell have very little value they are basically throw in players right now. I am not sure the Marlins would want Crod either. Black is interesting but I think they would want Wilken or Quero over Black. If you want Luzardo you are going to have to give up one of Quero, Misio or Wilken and then a couple of other pieces and no Wiemer or Mitchell are not one of those other pieces.
  12. There were some on this board who were calling for the Brewers to sign him and then calling the Brewers cheap because they didn't sign him. There were plenty of predictions about him not living up to the contract. The Mets and White Sox both gave out huge contracts like candy on Halloween and neither team is all that competitive now. Unless you have a generational player (Judge, Ohtani, Harper, etc.) then spending a lot in FA and for a long term contract is not a wise decision. It is like signing an aging RB in NFL FA you may get something nice once in a hundred times but ninety nine times out of a hundred you are getting a flaming bag of poo. I bet the majority of long term contracts for non star players and even some star players (Pujols, Rendon) are just absolutely horrible and not worth the trouble of even signing these players to long term contracts.
  13. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the Brewers trading for Alonso and I don’t think they will have to give up anyone in their top 5 to do so. Bauers also sounds like someone Stearns would target in return. He wouldn’t be the headliner but someone who would be coming back to fill in at 1B for the rest of the year. Something like Brown, Bauers and O’Rae for Alonso. Probably have to replace Brown with someone better like Pratt/Lara/Yophery Rodriguez.
  14. Luzardo would be the best but you are right he would cost a lot in prospect capital and I am not willing to give that up for 2.5 years of control. Another option if you want to go down the just for this season route would be Yusei Kikuchi from Toronto. If you want to go big Braxton Garrett has also been rumored to be available though I think I would wait on the Marlins and possibly talk with them in the off season and see if they would be willing to deal Alcantara in the off season. He won't have as much value in the off season so the Marlins may hold on him to get a better return or just keep him going forward. If I were to deal with the Rays I would see if they would include Arozarena in the Littel deal. Arozarena has been bad this year offensively but the Brewers have picked someone up from the Rays who was playing poorly before and it worked out (Adames). Maybe something like Wiemer/Lara, Wichrowski and a DSL player for Littel and Arozarena could be close? If you want Luzardo I think the Marlins would ask for a Quero/Black/Misio/Wilken + deal. I don't think you will need to give up more than one of the Brewers top 10 prospects and I think the Marlins would be more interested in a bat than pitching. I know the bullpen has been great so far but I wouldn't mind picking up Puk. I think the Royals will splurge on Luzardo and I wouldn't want to get in a bidding war for that. The Cubs or Cardinals may also get in on Luzardo. I would rather get Kikuchi or Verlander if the Astros falter but it looks like they are playing like expected recently.
  15. Nightengale is wrong. The Mets never offered CC anything.
  16. The Mets weren't even willing to meet the Brewers numbers let alone get anywhere close to the Cubs numbers. The contract the Brewers offered is what CC shopped around. Cleveland didn't want to get into a bidding war and they bowed out early. The Cubs came around at the last minute. It was a take it or leave it type of deal and well we know what CC did. The Brewers had a 0% chance of matching the Cubs offer and I don't think they would have even had tried. That is just way too much to give to a manager.
  17. If Culpepper has to move off of SS it will be to an OF spot and probably will be in CF. I don't think he will need to move off of SS. Culpepper should be able to hit enough it is just how much power will he generate? Similar to Yelich he has a more flatter swing so he doesn't get much of a launch on his hits. A lot of line drives and will probably have problems getting to the lower third of the strike zone at least getting enough lift on the ball there.
  18. I wonder how much MLB had to pay him to retire?
  19. If you look at the Blue Jays they are kind of in the same situation the Brewers were in during the 2010 season. For the Brewers it was just Prince but for the Blue Jays it is Vlad and Bichette. Bichette has a lot of value and it would take a ton to get him and I am not sure there is a team out there that would put up the prospects the Blue Jays would want in return. So the Blue Jays are stuck in a division that doesn't look winnable for them at least not with the Yankees and Orioles built like they are. You are not getting top 15-20 prospects and another piece for those relievers. While they are good relievers they are not closer level relievers who normally get top 15-20 prospects. If you mean a teams 15-20 prospects then sure but those are normally lower level prospects.
  20. They are not that far off from Wilken. Wilken only had more walks than K's in his last year of college. White may need to move to 1B but I am not all that worried about that. He may have to hit more to be more valuable but the Brewers are picking 17 not in the top 5 so problems like that are going to be there for anyone the Brewers takes at 17. Cam Smith if he even lasts to 17 would be an absolute steal. White or Smith at 17 would be a good start to the draft for the Brewers.
  21. Low and just out of the zone but right down the middle of the plate.
  22. Oh no Adames swung 3-0!!!!! Watch out the baseball purists are going to come in and say this is not how you play baseball!!!!! You must take 3-0!!!!!
