  1. A lot of people use Python now. This is one of the better resources for learning Python that is free: https://www.hackinscience.org/exercises/
  2. LOL the best fans in baseball booing a loss.
  3. May want to use R or Python over just downloading from baseball savant. It looks to be a feature (bug) in their download it just downloads the first pitch type in the list instead of all. There maybe another API out there to scrape this information. Python: https://github.com/jldbc/pybaseball?tab=readme-ov-file R: https://github.com/billpetti/baseballr Python: https://github.com/coperyan/statcast-api This seems to work though you will need to calculate the whiff%. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast_search?hfPT=FF|SI|FC|CH|FS|FO|SC|CU|KC|CS|SL|ST|SV|KN|EP|FA|IN|PO|&hfAB=&hfGT=R|&hfPR=&hfZ=&hfStadium=&hfBBL=&hfNewZones=&hfPull=&hfC=&hfSea=2024|&hfSit=&player_type=pitcher&hfOuts=&hfOpponent=&pitcher_throws=&batter_stands=&hfSA=&game_date_gt=&game_date_lt=&hfMo=&hfTeam=&home_road=&hfRO=&position=&hfInfield=&hfOutfield=&hfInn=&hfBBT=&hfFlag=&metric_1=&group_by=pitch-type&min_pitches=0&min_results=0&min_pas=0&sort_col=swing_miss_percent&player_event_sort=api_p_release_speed&sort_order=desc&chk_pitch_type=on&chk_stats_swing_miss_percent=on#results
  4. He also wasn’t able to do anything other than do the walk through and that was it. Nothing physical.
  5. It doesn’t sound like Giannis will be available for game one and is probably out for game two also.
  6. Always great hearing the greatest fans in baseball booing their team.
  7. Some of these umps need to be forced into retirement.
  8. The Cardinals announcer called the eighth inning a fire something something something that was put out. The what?
  9. Uggg on MLB Network it is the Cardinals broadcast. Their announcers are absolute garbage.
  10. Not me. I guess I was one of the few Turang believers. Also he is perfect as the #8 or 9 hitter. He doesn’t need to hit for power he just needs to get on base. Turang to me is just a better David Eckstein.
  11. That is a bit concerning for the Badgers. What is going on with the team that so many are leaving? I don't believe it is a money issue there must be something else going on that the players don't like.
  12. A lot of down the middle cookie pitches being hit with no power at all or completely whiffing at them today.
  13. They are not figuring out Uribe, he is throwing cement mixer sinkers in the middle of the plate. There is nothing to figure out there.
  14. All lies! When will you haters stop? We all know he is the greatest ever! That insurance was so he would stay away from baseball so he wouldn’t embarrass all of the HoF with his gaudy numbers!!!!!
  15. This is an absolutely worse case scenario matchup for the Bucks. I expect them to get swept especially if Giannis is not able to go in game 1.
  16. With the Knicks win and the Bucks loss today the Bucks are the #3 seed. The Bucks will play the Pacers in the first round.
  17. Those weren't anywhere close to the strike zone.
  18. All hail the greatest SS MLB has ever seen!
  19. This is my best guess for the Packers draft: 25 traded to the Chiefs for 32, 173, 2025 2nd and 3rd round picks. And my Bears picks if anyone is interested:
  20. With more and more information coming out it doesn't look like there will be 3 rate cuts this year. With the recent data coming out June is not going to happen. I think the Fed does nothing in June. The next available data point won't be until the September meeting so July and August are also out. If there will be a rate cut it will be in September and that is if inflation improves. It is looking more and more like inflation will not improve or at least not improve enough for a rate cut. I still believe the Fed will just hold until September and reevaluate then. If inflation doesn't improve by the September meeting then you could see a rate hike. I think inflation would have to improve to around 2.5% for the Fed to make a rate cut and I just don't see that happening.
  21. I know the Bears are heavily interested in the OT from Yale. I have heard the Packers are also interested in him. He has a day 2 grade (Kiran Amegadjie). If the Packers go OT I think that is who they go with.
  22. I think he meant moving up to around 16-19 and not the 6th pick in the draft.
  23. I thought Giannis could turn into someone like Garnett but I don't think he will ever shoot as good to get there. I think as Giannis ages the best we could hope for is a more athletic version of Duncan. Yes I know another HOF player but if Giannis can continue to improve on his game around the rim I think he could be as good as Duncan was.
  24. I agree. I have been talking about Lopez being a bad fit for awhile now. Middleton looks like he is at the end of his career at least defensively he looks that way. He is just not sticking to players like he used to.
