Challenge met and conquered. One thing I was not liking in this game was the number of fouls and the times where it was stand around make one or two passes and then shoot a three. The offense looks a lot better when they are attacking the basket. Need more of that and less of the stand around the three point line and shoot.

Too many 3's and not enough lane penetration to end the first half.

Good start to the game by Marquette.

What in the actual heck was Giannis and Green doing in that play? That is just bad defense and pure luck they didn’t get a shot off.

Not concerned just a matter of fact that they just squeaked by Maryland. This game against Purdue may be an elite 8 or final four matchup preview. A bit early but I think Marquette can finally get that far into the tournament as long as they stay healthy that is.

I think keep unless you are able to add a filtering by tags in the main forum.

The one I am talking about is the one where Walker is running all alone into the end zone wide open. Locke had no pressure coming and absolutely air mails the ball above Walkers head. It was an easy pass and would have resulted in a TD. That was the game winner right there instead of 3-pts it should have been a TD. Locke is absolutely horrible and should not be the QB going forward he can’t even make the easy throws.

When you over throw a wide open receiver by 10 feet in the air there really isn't an offense that is going to do you any favors.

The Badgers should be up by 1 if Locke makes an easy throw earlier in the game instead the Badgers only got 3 instead of 7.

Bad QB play comes back to haunt the Badgers again.

Other than the first few drives the offense has been on point this game. The passing game has opened the run game a bit. The LB’s and safeties haven’t been able to crash the line of scrimmage as much. The OL have also been getting a good push since about the 2nd quarter. Hopefully they can keep this up.

The running game wasn’t working early so something had to change. It is working so far and they have ran the ball better since going to the pass more.

Finally some good throws by Locke. What is confusing is how bad accuracy wise Locke can be on some easy to medium difficult throws with very little to no pressure.

One easy pass that should have scored a TD and one medium level difficulty pass for a first down. The problem with both? You guessed it an inaccurate throw by Locke. This team would be 1000 times better if Locke is not the QB.

Locke seriously? That is a peewee football throw and you throw it 10 feet above his head?

Marquette squeaked by a Maryland team and has its biggest test against Purdue on Tuesday. Hopefully Joplin can play a bit better otherwise it is going to be a tough win against Purdue. Parham looks really promising off of the bench.

Some Badgers fans would hate this but I wish PC was fired and Deion Sanders was his replacement after the 2022 season. Maybe Fickell will be better over the long term but what Sanders has done for Colorado is a bit of a miracle so far. Basically I would like to see what Colorado is doing right now at Wisconsin. Defensively they look like the Badgers before PC took over. Hiring PC as the HC was one of the worst decisions the Badgers have done in a while especially on the recruiting side of things.

Because the Phillies want to get some prospects back so they can make another trade if they need to after making the Arenado trade. Trading Bohm for Williams doesn’t accomplish that.

Stott is not available. The Phillies are trying to make room for Arenado. Supposedly Arenado is the #1 target for the Phillies. So I think that may close the book on a Williams trade to the Phillies.

The Bucks are really playing with a 3-man bench?

If Locke could be more like Tolzien this team would be better. I think they win the USC game if anyone but Locke is playing QB in that game. Hopefully Mettauer is the next man up and he can be something closer to Tolzien. Trech and Dupree look to be really good and a solid foundation for next years offense. Hopefully the Badgers can get Eugene Hilton Jr. in next year though he does have a scholarship offer from Georgia but has verbally committed to the Badgers. Freshman WR's normally don't start all that often but I think Hilton could be the exception here. Pauling and Anthony should also return for their Sr years as neither look to be a round 3-5 picks. Pauling maybe but he has had a lot of drops this year and he is on the verge of being a 5th round pick but he is probably more of a 7th round pick at best right now. Anthony would maybe get a look as an undrafted rookie maybe. I think there is enough talent next year to compete a bit if the QB and OL play improves. There have been times this year where the OL has shown life and other times where it is just awful. Give this team another year and I think the OL play improves. The question is will the QB play improve also? This is why I think after the Oregon game the Badgers have to go with someone other than Locke to see what they have for next year. Locke is not the answer for next year time to move on and let him transfer. I want to see what Mettauer can do against Nebraska and Minnesota.

So much garbage on this team. Trent absolute garbage, Prince flaming garbage, Connaughton lol garbage, Green and Jackson developing garbage and Wright garbage can pretending to be a recycling bin.

That may be his best position but I don't see him as either of those positions. I think he is below average there defensively and wouldn't be an improvement for the Phillies. I doubt they would like him more than Frelick and the extra year of control wouldn't be as much of a deal to the Phillies. Their window is now so having Black for an extra year doesn't really do much for them. It means more to the Brewers than it does to the Phillies. With Rhys coming back he is probably going to play more DH than he will at 1B. That means you need someone to play more at 1B. I think 1B is more of a problem than 3B is and I think the Brewers are just going to keep Ortiz at 3B for now. The Brewers could also trade for Edman or someone similar to play 2B/3B if they want to move Ortiz to SS and keep Turang at 2B. I think the more likely outcome is that Turang moves back to SS and Ortiz stays at 3B and the Brewers trade or sign someone at 2B. A trade for Bohm helps move this along as the Brewers also need a 1B as I don't believe the Brewers see Hoskins as an everyday 1B. I also believe that Hoskins is going to get the majority of starts at DH at least 90 games worth with Yelich and Contreras splitting time when Hoskins is playing 1B. I think Hoskins will only play about 20 games at 1B next year for the Brewers which leaves open 140 games. Bohm playing 120 games at 1B and the rest at 3B would be fine. There are enough starts at 1B for both Bohm and Hoskins on the team.

For Bohm I am going to repeat what I said in the Devin Williams trade thread. It all depends on how the Brewers see Bohm. Do they see him as 1B or a 3B? If they see him as a 1B then he has less value around $10mm in surplus value but if they see him as a 3B then he has around $15mm in surplus value. I believe the Phillies see him as a 1B which reduces his surplus value to about $10mm for them which is right around what Williams is worth. If you go by BTV then Williams has about $11mm in surplus value and Bohm as he is evaluated now as a 3B is at $22mm which I completely disagree with. I don't believe Bohm has that value and he is closer to $15mm than he is to $22mm as a 3B. They have Williams at $11mm which is about right I would raise that to about $12-15mm so I am not all that concerned about Williams value. Black doesn't really fit with the Phillies. I think the Phillies would prefer Frelick over Black or anyone really over Black. I just don't see the value for the Phillies here for Black when they already have two DH's in Schwarber and Castellanos. Black is just not a good enough OF to put in LF or RF. Something like Williams and Frelick for Bohm, Aroon Escobar and Jean Cabrera. This is basically two trades in one as it would be Frelick for Bohm and then Williams for Escobar and Cabrera. I like Cabrera more than Abel so went with Cabrera over Abel here and Escobar is a very interesting and exciting 2B/3B. I don't think the Phillies would want to trade Escobar but he is someone I would want in exchange for Williams. Cabrera is very similar to Freddy Peralta and Abel is also similar to Peralta in terms that both have a hard time finding the plate. Abel has regressed again with his command and that is two straight years in a row where his command has regressed 2023 and 2024. This seems like it is in favor of the Phillies but I believe both Escobar and Cabrera will be excellent MLB players especially Escobar.

Them being a 14.5 point underdog is not surprising when the only thing that is working on offense is the run game loosely speaking. So Oregon really only needs to focus on stopping the run and daring Locke to beat them in the air which I don't believe will happen unless something catastrophic happens to Oregon. I would be fine being wrong on this but I don't believe Locke has it in him to play at a level needed for the Badgers to win this game.
