  1. I'm ok with Robin Lopez as the second center, he protects the paint. Sterling Brown has been a big disappointment, I think he should be traded or send down to the Herd.
  2. Last season I was very confident the Bucks would win the championship, Durant was out injuried and GSW was very beatable. The lost to the Raptors was heartbreaking for me. This season it's championship or bust for me, anything else would be a big disappointment. I think if we don't win the championship this season, Giannis may not extend his contract this offseason and instead opt to be a free agent in 2021.

  4. I will be unabashed optimistic when the Brewers sign Ryu.
  5. I'm still worried about this team especially after the Mavs lost. The Max $177M Middleton has been disappointing as he does not provide the team with enough scoring in tight/tough games. I think the Bucks could have big problems in the playoffs as we have an inadequate second star in Middleton. Great win against the Lakers tonight, best record in the NBA. The Bucks have been an excellent regular season team, but the finals are much tougher games as we've seen last season, the Bucks may need better offense to win the championship.
  6. It makes sense for Stearns to trade Arcia, his OBP is really bad.
  7. Looks like Sogard is the Brewers new 3B starter.
  8. Ryu is an available free agent, get it done Stearns.
  9. No! for me too, I would not trade Hiura as he's my favorite player in the team, and he's a hitting stud like Yelich that the Brewers will have control for many years.
  10. The Brewers lost two all-star players this offseason in Grandal and Moustakas, they lost Lyles who was huge for the Brewers in the stretch run, and they may also lose Thames. These four guys played a vital role for the Brewers getting the wildcard. I think the author is concern that the Brewers are going to be worse than last season.
  11. I'm ok with this signing as a depth move.
  12. I like your sign Ryu idea. For the trade with Mets, I much prefer to try and get JD Davis than Smith. Davis can play 3B and is a better hitter than Smith. With JD Davis and Lowrie, our 3B is set for 2020. I like your sign McHugh idea. I much prefer to get Thames than Cron, I like the sign Thames for 2 years $9M idea by the previous poster. With Braun, Thames, Davis, our 1B is set for 2020. Houser should definitely start the season in the major league team as a starter or reliever. Edit: apologies I meant JD Davis.
  13. It has been discussed here many, many times over at this point, but one more time for factual accuracy: That headline is wrong- the Brewers had $66 million in OPERATING INCOME, not profit. If you click the link to the Forbes article it cites, it's clearly listed as such there. And yes, every thread lately seems to devolve into the same discussion. Let's stay on topic, please. A part of the company expenses is paying dividends and board fees to the owner, so the owner do collect money from his investment asset yearly especially when there is such a high operating income. Moreover in a short span of 15 years, the Brewers are now worth 5 times what the owner had pay for the team in 2005, this is an excellent investment for the owner. And this asset is still appreciating. In my previous post, I was just replying to the poster who angrily said to me that the owner is losing money. I will stay on topic now.
  14. Why not both? I think the Brewers need to add an Ace and elite 3B to field a contending team. But if I'm forced to choose, I'd probably take Ryu.
  15. I like it, hope Garcia puts up close to his 2017 numbers for the Brewers. This move probably means Braun will play some 1B and Yelich will play more LF this season.
  16. The Bucks payroll is $134.07M for only 15 players, this is currently $52M more than the Brewers 2020 payroll. The Bucks ownership have given Giannis and Bucks fans a much higher commitment to win a championship compared to the Brewers ownership's commitment to Brewers fans and Yelich on winning a WS. With the much higher financial commitment, Bucks ownership is able to give Giannis a solid supporting cast to win a championship. While the Brewers ownership has so far been cheapskate, Yelich's supporting cast is not so good and the team doesn't look like a WS contender. The financial dynamics of the NBA are completely different than MLB. You can't compare apples to autos like you are trying to do. According to every known source the Brewers LOST money last year. To call ownership cheapskates is absolutely ridiculous. Of course you would have a totally different view if it was YOUR money you were losing. http://www.wtmj.com/sports/baseball/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-made-66-million-in-2018-team-makes-second-most-per-fan-in-all-of-major-league-baseball/1067753279 The Brewers made a $66 million profit last year, they didn't lost money. The owner has been making profits. Not only that Mark A bought the Brewers for $223M in 2005, the team is now worth about $1.2 billion in 2019. The owner will also make a ton of money if he decides to sell the team. You don't have to worry for the owner, the Brewers have been a great investment for him.

  18. Frankly I was surprise when the Brewers didn't pick up Thames 1 year $7.5M club option, the Brewers paid a $1M buyout instead. For me, I'd picked up Thames option as he's worth it based on his performance last season.
  19. Both are plump, lefty Ace. I think the Brewers need another Ace to contend.
  20. The lefty Ryu is available, hope Stearns boldly get him to be our next CC Sabathia.
  21. Fortunate, or did our front office correctly identify a candidate to outpitch their "pedigree" due to some analytical/mechanical/technical change they were able to implement? Why, when the Brewers have an astoundingly good track record of doing so, do we continue to assume these things are flukey? And why can't a guy like Anderson be a pitcher they've similarly identified as a candidate to be the second coming of Wade Miley due to something they've found as well? When it repeatedly happens over and over, maybe it isn't actually a fluke... I highly doubt that Stearns/front office expected Lyles to pitch like an Ace when they traded for him. At that time the rotation was decimated with injuries and he was just a stopgap trade, no one expected him to pitch the way he did which is why I said it is very fortunate. If the Brewers had thought highly of Lyles, they wouldn't have let him go after the 2018 season. They were not willing to pay a cheap one year $2M+ to get him back for 2019. And the Brewers not re-signing Lyles after last seasons Ace performance, shows that they think it is a fluke performance. 2 years $16M contract ($8M per year) is low even for a #2, but the Brewers were not willing to pay that. Same with Miley, the Brewers did not re-sign him after the 2018 season shows that they think his performance is a fluke.
  22. We were very fortunate last season that a discarded SP by the Pirates, pitched like an Ace for us down the stretch for us to get the wildcard. It would be wiser to get the Ace at the start of the season as he could help us win the divison.
  23. There is no significant difference between making the World Series and not making in 2018 when evaluating player talent. They came one pitch away from making it. That means the talent was in place to make it. They don't need to change a thing. Also making the World Series being your only barometer for judging a team is just a really poor way to look at things. I would like to see them sign one more solid non injury guy for sure to add depth. It is not the only barometer, but it is a key barometer when we've an MVP player in our team. Winning the WS is a barometer and the key goal of Stearns and Mark A, I've heard them saying it. The Marlins, Royals, Astros, Cards and even Cubs have won the WS, it would be nice for the Brewers to win it at least once. As a Bucks fan, the key goal and barometer this season is to win the championship with our MVP player.
  24. Agree that the current rotation doesn't look good especially if we want to contend. I hope Stearns is getting a #1 SP and move Woodruff to #2 to improve the rotation. I much prefer Houser to be in the bullpen where he has been great. I think Lindblom is a good addition, Lauer got rushed up but he is a very good prospect, Anderson is more like the 5th starter and he seems like an injury waiting to happen. Stearns please get a #1 SP so that we can contend for the WS while we still have Yelich. I disagree. Right now the current makeup of the rotation is very similar to what it's been the last three years. Of course, this team has been a contender the last three years. Especially in 2018, when they were one bad inning from a World Series birth. The last 3 years, We didn't win a WS, we didn't even make the world series. The Brewers have never won a WS. Since we have been unsuccessful in winning a WS the last 3 years with this rotation makeup, wouldn't it make sense to do something different like improving the rotation?
