  1. It would be hilarious if that twitter "rumor" turn out to be true and the Brewers were waiting till the On Deck to announce the Grienke trade.
  2. Great news on the promotion/extension, Stearns is a young guy hope he received a 10 years extension at least. Doug Melvin was Brewers GM for 14 years, I want/expect to see Stearns as Brewers GM/President a lot longer than that.
  3. I wouldn't mind doing this deal if it's true, Greinke is a very good starting pitcher.
  4. I don't believe that the Brewers payroll is tight, they just want to spend wisely. With all the low payroll teams that the Brewers rolled out during the rebuilding stage, they should've save enough money to build a decent warchest for a WS run now that the Brewers are contenders.
  5. Brewers should have kept Ji-Man Choi and dump Thames last year.
  6. At 33, Walker is not that old. Wouldn't mind giving Walker a one year "spring training invite" deal like what we gave Yovani last year, if his performance is not good we can cut him after spring training. If he performs great, we could have a 2B stopgap until Hiura is called up.
  7. When asked about payroll flexiblity in the wtmj interview, Stearns mentioned that Miley was signed in February last year. I've a feeling that Miley is Stearns main FA target, and Miley will probably be back with the Brewers next month.
  8. I'd say pitcher. We are pretty much covered for 2B with Hiura, Dubon, Perez and Spangenberg. Hopeful we can add another very good pitcher to the roster. Pitching has to continue to be the strength of this team.
  9. The remaining 2B free agents in the list don't interest me, I'd prefer to go with our existing players and call up Hiura after he has played 5-6 weeks in AAA to be the Brewers 2B. It's similar to what the Brewers did with another top hitting prospect named Braun, Braun played 34 games in AAA before being called and subsequently won the NL rookie of the year.
  10. Great win by the Bucks beating the Rockets, Brogdon is becoming the team's second best player this season.
  11. Yes, and he's getting $350K more than the QO, and moving to a more hitter friendly ballpark and to a championship contender where he will get to improve his stats and showcase himself for next year's FA.
  12. great move by Stearns. Strange how things work out, the Brewers were close to signing Wilson Ramos to a one-year deal but the Mets swoop in to give Ramos a two-year deal because Grandal rejected their four-year $60M offer, and now the Brewers sign Grandal to a one-year deal instead.
  13. We really shouldn't be optioning guys to the minors that are making over 2 million bucks. If the Brewers don't think Davies is making the team, we should find a trade partner and ditch the salary or cut him before opening day and save 3/4 of his salary. I'll add that bringing in both Miley and MB would mean Davies and 1 other arm in the minors/out of the org. I would expect that we have at most 1 more pitching addition and that would likely result in Peralta being the 1st man out if everyone made it through ST healthy. Would be nice if we could trade Ray and Zach Davis for Bumgarner.
  14. Absolutely not interested to trade Burnes, Woodruff or Peralta for Bumgarner. I would be willing to trade Ray and Zach Davis for Bumgarner.
  15. Wouldn't mind trading Corey Ray for Bumgarner. Would like to get Miley back on a short term deal. Absolutely not interested in Gio. Would probably option Zach Davis to the minors as I don't think he will beat Nelson, Woodruff or Burnes to a rotation spot.
  16. I'm fine with trading Corey Ray for Bumgarner. This is Bumgarner's contract year, he will probably pitch his butt off to have an excellent season and I think he still has what it takes to be an Ace again. He's also a decent hitter for a pitcher. Brewers probably need another top of the rotation guy to make it to the World Series.
  17. I didn't like the Santana trade as the return was too little/not good, but I really like this Broxton trade. If I knew that Broxton will be traded, I would have kept Santana.
  18. Would absolutely love to do this trade if possible, Brewers get an Ace for the rotation and got rid of Thames and Braun's remaining contracts.
  19. I think the Brewers will probably sign Moustakas and move Shaw to 2B until Hiura is promoted. Subsequently CC will rotate Shaw's position between 3B, 2B and 1B.
  20. For me, I would keep Hiura and promote him to majors this August like we did with another highly rated prospect Arcia in 2016. Hiura is a way better hitter than Arcia.
  21. Keston Hiura is a stud hitter, young and dirt cheap, I'd definitely won't trade him for anyone. To me, he's as untouchable as Hader and Burnes. Hiura will be manning the Brewers 2B for many years to come.
