  1. I'm keen to get Avisaíl García, get it done Stearns.
  2. The METS trade is the one I like most in the list, we get MLB proven players. Syndergaard - we get a potentially Ace type SP Much prefer to get JD Davis instead of Dom Smith, Davis is the better hitter and can play 3B as well as 1B and LF.
  3. I'm fine with getting Bumgarner, he's a gamer and a very good SP and he's only 30.
  4. Meanwhile Shohei Ohtani will make around $700K. Currently our three highest paid pitchers for 2020 are paid less than the Angels.
  5. I hope Stearns is not penny pinching, not signing Junior Guerra seems like penny pinching.
  6. Jimmy Nelson was heading to be our own Ace, but injury derailed it. Brandon Woodruff is our next big hope.
  7. If the Brewers are willing to pay a 37 yr old Happ $17M a year, wouldn't Jordan Lyles at 2 years $16M be a much better deal. I would've much prefer to get Lyles instead.
  8. I'm all for getting him to play 1B for the Brewers. He's only 28, so he should be in his prime. Get it done Stearns. Just wondering, do you think Huira can play 1B too?
  9. Me too, I would have paid that easily to have Guerra back.
  10. With all the money saved by not re-signing players, hope the Brewers go big and get an Ace SP and an elite 3B. Strasburg and Donaldson, get it done Stearns.
  11. The Brewers are short a starting 3B and an Ace SP, please get Donaldson and Strasburg. Get it done Stearns. For 1B, just re-sign Thames to a 1 year deal. And I hope the Brewers re-sign Junior Guerra for the bullpen.
  12. I wouldn't mind offering 3 year contracts to both Grandal and Moustakas, really hope the Brewers re-sign both guys.
  13. Hope the Cubs win tomorrow. After a 9 game losing streak, the Cubs are probably due a win.
  14. I wouldn't mind offering Grandal a 3 year $57M contract ($19M AAV). Grandal is a very good leadoff hitter and catcher.
  15. Thames has a $7.5M club option for next season, do you think the Brewers should pick up that option? Next season MLB will likely have a 26 man roster, if the Brewers pick up Thames option, Thames will play a lot of 1B with Braun rotating between LF and 1B. Next season's bench: Pina, Gamel, Shaw, Spangenberg and (Thames or Grisham) 1B is a relatively easy position to replace production at, but I think exercising that option is a no-brainer. With how good Thames has performed this season, I agree that the Brewers should exercise that option. And hopefully the Brewers re-sign Grandal and Moustakas too. Starting lineup like this next season would be great: © Grandal (LF) Yelich (2B) Hiura (3B) Moustakas (LH) Braun (1B) Thames (CF) Cain (SS) Arcia
  16. Come on Phillies and Dbacks, please win the game.
  17. I hope the Brewers don't bank on Shaw returning to being an average player even. I wouldn't even offer him arby myself, but can see the argument, especially if Thames doesn't return for whatever reason. Thames has a $7.5M club option for next season, do you think the Brewers should pick up that option? Next season MLB will likely have a 26 man roster, if the Brewers pick up Thames option, Thames will play a lot of 1B with Braun rotating between LF and 1B. Next season's bench: Pina, Gamel, Shaw, Spangenberg and (Thames or Grisham)
  18. I'd retain Lyles, Pomeranz, Gio, Moustakas and Grandal, the roster for next season: Starters: (RHP) Woodruff (RHP) Lyles (RHP) Davies (RHP) Nelson (LHP) Gio Bullpen: (LHP) Hader (LHP) Suter (LHP) Pomeranz (LHP) Claudio (RHP) Houser (RHP) Guerra (RHP) Peralta (RHP) Burnes or Knebel Starting Lineup: (RF) Grisham © Grandal (LF) Yelich (2B) Hiura (1B) Braun (3B) Moustakas (CF) Cain (SS) Arcia Bench: Pina, Gamel, Shaw, Spangenberg Retain? Interesting verb when competing with 29 other teams.... Count us fortunate to get 2 of those 5... more likely 1. phnxcrew is right about the profits Mark A/Brewers have been collecting every year, moreover we will be shedding the salaries of Anderson, Thames, Albers, Perez, Chacin and Jeffress. I think the Brewers can well afford to re-sign those 5 guys.
  19. Regardless, they must finally realize that they need to add pitching. Cole isn't feasible- but many of the second tier guys are. I get that we all have non-dry dreams about pitchers like Cole, but it simply won't happen for this market. Unless some one explains to Mark A about all those 100's of millions in profit he's hoarding... I'd retain Lyles, Pomeranz, Gio, Moustakas and Grandal, the roster for next season: Starters: (RHP) Woodruff (RHP) Lyles (RHP) Davies (RHP) Nelson (LHP) Gio Bullpen: (LHP) Hader (LHP) Suter (LHP) Pomeranz (LHP) Claudio (RHP) Houser (RHP) Guerra (RHP) Peralta (RHP) Burnes or Knebel Starting Lineup: (RF) Grisham © Grandal (LF) Yelich (2B) Hiura (1B) Braun (3B) Moustakas (CF) Cain (SS) Arcia Bench: Pina, Gamel, Shaw, Spangenberg
  20. Cards lose, Cubs lose, Brewers now only 2 games back for the division lead. Hope the Brewers win the division.
  21. Instead of getting Cole, I'd much rather use the payroll to retain Moustakas and Grandal, they have been fantastic for the Brewers.
  22. It will be kinda depressing if/when we don't have Grandal and Moustakas for next season.
  23. Can we trade Aguilar for Choi? Wish we didn't trade Choi, would like to have him back.
  24. What about calling up Freitas, he's red hot in AAA and can play both C and 1B. DFA or trade Aguilar to clear a spot.
