  1. When I click on the baseball to go to the next new post, as I just did in the draft choice 1-5 thread i'm sometimes taken to a new page which is blank with no new posts. This happens also when I'm reading a thread and it has a "next" page, but there are no posts on that page. It only happens occassionally. I'm wondering if this is an issue on my end, something with Yuku or perhaps moderation going on.
  2. I can think of things to criticize Melvin about. The end product of a series of comments like the game whispers or telephone that everyone plays in grade school with bitter Keith Law at the end, is one I wouldn't get carried away with. If you're a Keith Law believer, he can't ruin Gamel as far-fetched as that idea is, because Gamel was always worthless. Willie Randolph hasn't exactly sizzled as a manager and the fanbase and media in NY complained quite a bit about his competence. The Rays and Rangers have made their share of bad moves, but Sabean is in competition for most knucklehead moves. Part of having the success like the Rays have had is cratering your team and getting the #1 or #2 draft choice. That's what local radio bizzarro "Sparky" wants to do. Go for last place for 3 or 4 years and compete after that.
  3. I wonder how many of Gamel's throwing errors are the charging in and throwing off balance kind, how many are errant when he's set and how many are in the dirt and might be picked by a better 1st baseman.
  4. I think there's a good chance that Narveson is better than Bush going forward. I also don't buy that having a triceps bruise robbed him of 2-3 mph.
  5. Pitt Post Gazzette said that the Rats took exception to sending Prince there. The catcher could have just tagged him. They also had Meek saying that Delwyn Young had been plunked because they won big the night before. Can anyone remember the Brewers doing that in recent years or ever for that matter?
  6. Eric Farris DHed in this day's boxscore. Has he played the field yet? Maybe he's not totally back, but it is nice to see him hitting.
  7. Always fun to hear first hand reports MLS, don't be shy.
  8. Leave him out there. Leave him out there for 7 or so innings. I can't wait for the excuses.
  9. Nice job Dave. I guess he doesn't want to be traded.
  10. If anything, Macha seems to prefer younger players. When i hear all the emotional distress over "fire" or similar I think that people want less of players like Cain.
  11. Ditto on the first hand accounts, but one thing was left out. What was the brat count Kricket?
  12. It might reinforce your beliefs, but the idea that Macha should be a dope like Cox and get thrown out all the time arguing for nothing really isn't a "fact." Its one thing to argue to back up your players and despite the hyperbole from the haters, he does that. Going out when there is nothing to argue is stupid. The Brewers have been regularly hitting opposing teams after they hit the Brewers, it just hasn't been done in a clumsy, stupid fashion like last night.
  13. 1:10 Central says Coshun so more Dells news for you invader
  14. A lot of exciting baseball with the usual great reporting along with first hand accounts made today's thread a great read. Thanks Uwisfan and I'd be interested in what the 4 year old says next game when he doesn't get a souvenir baseball.
  15. Here is a remarkably long article on new Star, Chris Nowak, from June '09 on his college website: http://upstatespartans.cs.../spec-rel/060109aab.html
  16. The very definition you present requires an overt act in the assistance of a crime as well as sharing criminal intent. I guess if you want to believe it, you can, but it isn't aiding and abetting. Even if a prosecutor could produce evidence that the Brewers sole purpose of putting him on the 40 man, such as correspondence, it still wouldn't qualify.
  17. Even if they drug tested him and were aware of positive results, it doesn't meet the legal definition of aiding and abetting.
  18. The thing that caught my eye in the Brevard boxscore is that they struck out 18 times and never walked. Definitely a game that deserves the "get to the bullpen" cliche.
  19. I haven't seen Lawrie much, but when I did he was throwing that sidearm flip. Now is the time to lose that is my opinion.
  20. Milb boxscores are displaying with the score obscured by an ad. Anyone else have that problem?
  21. I imagine the organization feels that a balance of the possible gains and losses is worth using a roster spot. Isn't that how all roster spots are used? If they used a spot on me, that would be a gift.
  22. 2 really bad pitches that George has chased for strike 3s.
